But why give away your prime new material which is still shifting trades?

A point raised in this week's podcast - we've seen absolutely zero cannibalisation of sales. The Mega Collection has actually boosted sales of our comics and graphic novels.

Just recorded this week's Thrill-Cast with Matt Smith, who's revealing more about the collection AND the line-up - tune in on Wednesday, podcast fans!

Re: those of you who got the first test volumes - test subscribers will have their subscription reactivated automatically, so will not have to re-subscribe. Hachette will be sending out an email this Friday with details about subscriptions.

This thread is now closed due to on-going unacceptable behaviour and language. Further discussion along these lines on other threads will result in closure of those threads and temporary bans to those involved.

Oops sorry, been a bit tardy updating this thread!

Molcher, as I already have all of the stories in Brothers of the Blood and therefore won't be buying it, is there any chance that (after it's no longer on sale in shops) you could post that essay on the forum somewhere?

No chance of that, sorry.

Hardback (& signed bookplate and art print) edition now available to order through 2000AD!

*It's just a numbered bookplate, as sadly Tom Tully, Mike Western, and Eric Bradbury are no longer with us.

His earliest Judge Dredd art is a stand-out. Signalled a great talent.

I loved that story. Funnily enough, I finally twigged it was the same artist when I saw his work on Indigo Prime, specifically the way he drew tubes - whether poking from a juve's head or the side of an interdimensional HQ. His work for Marvel UK was stellar, especially Black Axe.

That'll teach me to pay more attention when searching the internet - a Google entry brought me to the following link...

The old SFX website (run by SFX staff) was folded into Games Radar, SFX now has nothing to do with Games Radar beyond the latter occasionally posting a bit of regurgitated content from the former - and there's certainly no editorial control. We have an excellent relationship with the SFX guys, which is what makes this piece all the more disappointing.

SFX is pretty sure this won't star Karl Urban and won't be on Netflix. I know it's far too early for confirmed details, but they sound like they know something no-one else seems to - unless I've missed something...

Games Radar have nothing to do with SFX, the article is complete conjecture, and we've complained to editorial about it.

Absolutely agree, it's been something I've wanted to see on the shop for years but previous incarnations couldn't cope with it. It's been in the works for a while now so hopefully it'll go live this year.

Pausing only briefly to nod sagely at the Molchinator's deployment of the word 'nay', however. :-)

I'm between musters so have to keep in character.

As the person who wrote the multi-part interview in the Megazine and had the extraordinary privilege to have met Ron several times, I can confirm these comments are being taken wildly - nay, egregiously - out of context.

Those interviews prove beyond doubt that Ron loved his work, gained a great delight from it, and has always been astonished that he is held in such high regard by fans. But this never stopped him being upfront that it was his job. His candor and honesty has always struck me as being refreshing.

As someone who sat in Ron's living room and saw him get tearful with joy over his time at 2000 AD, don't ever tell me he didn't love his work.

Amazon has the Complete Future Shocks as released in December 2018, which sounds a bit unlikely.

Given that the RRP is £20.35, that looks like a US release, not a UK one.

The date was originally October 2017 (see my post a couple of pages back).  It's volume 1 and the publisher is "2000AD" so I assume it's a Rebellion phone book release.

'Fraid not, we've had to push back the Future Shocks and M.A.C.H.1 books to next year.
