Okay just stumbled across this. Over at The Beat they're running a feature with creators rounding up the year and looking ahead to 2013. Simon Fraser is on there and in answer to the question what projects is he currently working on he says (amongst others)

QuoteRocket De La Revolucion , written by Monty Nero for 2000AD

Done a quick search and Monty Nero (made up name!) is a newish writer (from what I can see) doing some stuff for CLint after apparently being discovered at Kapow (his Mum must be chuffed)... so nowt to go on there! Anyway something new to look forward to.

He's a member of this board, too. I saw him at the Dredd screening in Dundee, and he said he'd had a Future Shock accepted for publication.

Bolt-01

He also wrote a rather good story for us in Dogbreath 25, too.

But you all knew that as you have all bought copies, right?

Has this been mentioned anywhere yet?

I'm guessing it's a US book that'll include The League of Fatties, Requiem for a Heavyweight, The Magnificent Obsession, and maybe Fast Food/The Bazooka and Fat Fathers among others?

Great to see more Wagner Dredd getting out there in any case!

That can ONLY be a smart move!

I've detected a somewhat sniffy attitude towards 2000AD among some of the 'diehard' comics fans I'm friendly with. It seems like, for the most part, they just aren't familiar with the material, or judge everything on the merits of early '80s strips. Weird.

Maybe access to a regular glimpse of some contemporary stuff will turn a few heads. I know at least one guy stateside who's gone picking up all the Dredd stuff he can since the movie.

Oi! Tharg! When are we getting the next series of Indigo Prime? :D

Dark Jimbo

Good gosh! James Harren drawing an imminent Rob Williams-penned Dredd tale:

This is a very, very good thing.

It's weird considering the quality (or lack thereof) of some the current mainstream US stuff.
