I haven't read these stories but I would imagine you could but you mightn't enjoy it as much as die-hard Sláine/Pat Mill fans. If you haven't read Sláine before, I would start right from the start - Warrior's Dawn, the vast majority of people agree the best Sláine stories are the early ones.

Slaine: Grail War

Out sometime this month

This and Indigo Prime: Antropocalypse are in the Harper Collins distribution centre so they should be in shops imminently.

Do you know if new readers could read this? Awesome cover :)

One of the few later Slaine stories I haven't read yet. I hear it's not so good. Not as good as the earlier stories. So I wouldn't recommend it to a newcomer. I 'm still getting it for the read, and to add to my current Slaine collection. At the moment, I'm currently rereading my collection. About to start Slaine: The Horned God.

Good news though: this collection includes Belardinelli's beautiful 'Battle of Clontarf'  :)

In which Slaine book is that story appearing in?

Sorry, should have 'quoted'; 'Battle of Clontarf' is appearing, presumably as an extra, in 'The Grail War' collection...

ThryllSeekyr

Thats a strange & unlikely place to put it. I would have included it with Time-Killer.

So would everyone else on here!

Max Headroom

Other than 'The Battle of Contarf', will there be any other bonus material included?

credo

If Battle of Contarf is included, that means, along with "Devil's Banquet" getting a reprint in the new edition of "Slaine the King", the only missing (i.e. skipped) story is Arrow of God from the 2000ad Annual 1989. Anyone know if that's included on Grail War too?

ThryllSeekyr

I don't know about Arrow of God but according to the Wikipedia these are the stories included.

"The Demon Hitchhiker" (with Steve Tappin, in 2000 AD #1032, March 1997)
"King of Hearts" (with Nick Percival, in 2000 AD #1033-1039, March–April 1997)
"The Grail War" (with Steve Tappin, in 2000 AD #1040-1049, April–July 1997)
"Secret of the Grail" (with Steve Tappin, in 2000 AD #1090-1099, April–June 1998)

And if you look on the inside back cover of this week's prog it confirms the inclusion of 'Battle of Clontarf'  :D

Ancient Otter

Okay, got The Grail War and Mean Team today (I passed on Indigo Prime fpr now)

Grail War has the covers from 1034, 1037, 1091, 1095. The Battle of Clontarf is in colour, so I guess that's why it wasn't included in Time Killer (too expensive to print mostly in black and white and just a few colour pages at the end).
The Battle of Clontarf differs from the Clontarf battle sequence in Time Killer as it has Sláine fighting with different weapons.
Mean Team has Mean Team, Return of the Mean Team and Survivor. Prog covers 437, 526, 532 and 639 and Extreme Edition cover 25 are included (all greyscale) along with Star Scans from 435, 643, 660 and a Star Scan of Massimo Belardinelli from 295.
