I am not paying anyone for a 'free comic'. Z

Not having the 'one issue hole' in my collection is worth £7.99...Just.

There was no implied criticism Matt dude. I just have a major grumpy head on. Z

I agree with you. It's outrageous. I could not get to my LCS until late in the day and everything had gone. Still spent a fair wedge in there anyway but this issue looks to good to miss.

It's a shame but thems the breaks.

Fucked off at having to spend the dough but I see no alternative with this FCBD issue selling for over £10 atm. I'm sure it will drop off but I did not want to take the chance.

If they hadn't run out I was going to grab some spares to send over but... well. First thing to go apparently, which surprised me (possibly just got less of 'em in tho).

Good luck all.

In regards to the prog itself, Fodder looked great. Slightly disappointed it's not something weirder and more esoteric than
the old bloodsucker himself
but a promising start nonetheless

Perhaps I shouldn't mention this now but A Place in Space are still selling the 2000AD 2016 FCBD prog for £2.99.

I managed to get my free copy from the guys at Comic Connections in Banbury on Saturday morning. Normally they post my standing order out but this month there was a lot more than usual so to save on postage I made the trip over to Banbury to coincide with FCBD as well. One of the guys there mentioned that normally they only order one or two copies of the FCBD Prog but this year there seemed to be more interest in it so they got several copies instead.

Of course, being something of a completist I've ordered a copy of the US-sized version from the States for $20 (including shipping).

Rang Mal in Forbidden Planet, he had held a FCBD Prog over for me.  Collected it over lunch.  It is great to deal with a guy who loves comics and has the courtesy and foresight to keep a few progs for dedicated readers who put a fair bit of money over the counter every year.  A very happy Z.

They were giving the US ones away at Orbital, which was nice.

Too late for me, but thanks anyway.
Mine turned up today.
Pretty good service but then after paying nearly £8 for a free comic it's the least I expect.

And having read it it's worth the money  :D

Richard

Just read this today. I really liked Joelle Jones's art and would like to see more of it in the comic.

Ghost MacRoth

First year I actually managed to get mine free rather than off ebay later!  A decent wee prog, especially when it's free! :D
I don't have a drinking problem.  I drink, I get drunk, I fall over.  No problem!

I, Cosh

Think this is probably the strongest publication from the House of Tharg all year.

Eric Powell is entirely new to me, but his art enlivened a solid "from the headlines" jokey Dredd.

The Ratfink strip was unexpected and TMO manages to channel the sheer nastiness of the original Wagner outing.

I'd be keen to know whose pseudonym Barry Island is. Rob Williams is Welsh, isn't he? Either way, The Death of Death Man is the best laugh I'd had in a Prog for ages and, if Mr Island is real then I can't think of many things more exciting than having your first script illuminated by the demented hand of Henry Flint.

Saving the best for last, I thought Fodder was stunningly good. I wasn't aware of the connection to 2000AD history although it makes sense. Something about the story seemed to have such a different sensibility what you normally find in the Prog. Would love to see both of these creators back in the Prog, together or apart.
We never really die.
