This looks like an interesting book coming next year from David Roach.

On the Jesus Redondo episode of my podcast AlexF and I discussed some of the great Spanish artists who worked on the Prog in the seventies and eighties. This might be the book we wished for.

Should be cool i always loved the Spanish/South American style, i was always annoyed they (and UK artists) were anonymous before 2000ads credits card system, Davids weblists have been great to find those unknown artists

At the risk of angering the many artdroid hopefuls based in the UK, is there a particular reason why Tharg hasn't turned to agencies and indeed Spain/Italy/Andorra (not to mention the entire rest of the world) for more amazing art finds in the last couple of decades? Early 2000AD was filled with 'em, and some of them were top. A lot of the best artist working on the Marvel comics I read appear to be from Spain / Latin / South America, anyway. Although it's always dangerous to make assumptions about people's location based on name alone.

And yes, looking forward to this book for sure!

The Philippines seem to be a regular source of art talent as well, for some reason.

Shame about the very pedestrian layouts. A missed opportunity.
