Not only that, but Linkman says at the very start that each contestant must cross the city by land.  So why has that simp in the double page spread been allowed to fly a unicyclocopter?  Oh, the inconsistency!   It's as if Tharg thinks he publishing an entertaining, amusing comic or something!
