General / Judge Dredd: Mechanismo
09 January, 2011, 07:46:42 PM
Can some kind boarder please tell me if the rebellion print of Judge Dredd: Mechanismo is any different from the Mandarin edition? Is the content exactly the same in both books or does the Rebellion edition have some extra content?

General / Carlos Ezquerra Facts
22 August, 2010, 03:22:03 PM
In honour of the the great man and his return to health after his "Lung Walk" I thought we should have a thread where people could post facts about the legend that is Carlos Ezquerra.
I'll start us of with...

Apparently when he woke up after his operation he looked down at his chest ripped open the hospital gown and said " I don need no steenkin bandages"
He then jumped out of bed gave the doctor a wink, the nurse a big wet kiss (the nurse was not a happy man about this)and then walked (bare bottomed) all the way home.

Only Carlos the man, the artist , the one lunged bare bottom legend could get away with such behaviour. What a guy!!!

Does anyone else have some interesting facts about the great man?

General / Is this legal?
08 February, 2010, 02:23:35 PM
I've just come across this on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2000AD-Complete-comic-set-on-7-DVDs-30GB-comics-HQ_W0QQitemZ140381048016QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Books_comics_Magazines_UK_Comics_ET?hash=item20af5cccd0
It's the entire 2000AD collection on 7 disks.
Surely this can't be legal?
Any thoughts?

08 February, 2010, 01:04:20 PM
For some unexplained reason I've had this sudden urge for twoth related badges.
To help scratch this itch can some kind board member please answer the questions below.

Does any one have a big collection of 2000 AD badges?
Does any one know how many badges have been released over the years?
Can you please post some pictures of your collection.

I Found these in Google images http://www.2000ad.org/images/spinoffs/badges80.jpg

And I also found this place selling some badges.

I love the Rogue Trooper and SD badges.
Off to PayPal I think to purchase these miniature works of art.

Film & TV / Secret Space 1 and 2
04 November, 2009, 04:04:51 AM
I've just watched a documentary called "secret space". If you like space travel, aliens and conspiracy theories then it's well worth a look.
There are two films to watch.

Secret Space, Volume 1 "The Illuminati's Conquest Of Space"
http://video.google.co.uk/videosearch?hl=en&q=secret%20space&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wv#q=secret+space+1&hl=en&view=2&emb=1&dur=3

Secret Space, Volume 2 "Alien Invasion" http://video.google.co.uk/videosearch?hl=en&q=secret%20space&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wv#q=secret+space+1&hl=en&view=2&emb=1&dur=3

Whether the info is true or just complete b*ll*cks I'm not sure but I did find them interesting, educational and entertaining. A lot of the topics discussed are subjects that got me interested in comics in the first place. I think most 2000Ad fans would enjoy these.
Now were is the tin foil? I need to make a hat.
Enjoy.
Jay
p.s.
Both films can be found on google video.

What do people think us this? a harmless bit of revenge or a step to far?
I personally found the podcast interview very funny.

Off Topic / Unintensional comedy gold
08 September, 2009, 12:49:54 PM
After twenty years working in the comedy business it's come to the point where very few things make me genuinely laugh out load any more.
Here is a thread from the CPFC site that for me is comedy gold.
The thread is started by Scumpy. It's then followed with a beautiful and unintentional set up from Doof and then we get the pay off from Scumpy. The line that really gets me is "I have also done them logo/badge free"
It's slightly art's based hence the reason I'm posting it here.
Not everyone will find it that funny but I did!!!

Books & Comics / Chronicles of Dredd Titan Books
21 October, 2008, 01:39:12 AM
Hey,
Could someone please tell what number the Titan books titled "Chronicles of Judge Dredd" went up to?
The last one I bought back in the early 90's was number 27.
Were there more after this one?
I really like the size of the old Titan Dredd graphic novels so much so that when I look at the Rebellion books I think "if only they were an inch higher and 2 inches wider" saying that...
I think the same thing every time I go for a wazz.
Cheers

Film & TV / Mutant Chronicles
18 July, 2008, 02:07:50 AM
I've just watched the film Mutant Chronicles.I thought it was a cracking film. It's a bit similar to Doomsday Which I enjoyed but I thought this was a lot better. I really liked the "steam punk" feel to the film. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do this but if anyone wants to watch it can be found at this place http://www.66stage.com/movies.php?pl=ve ... 92tRSGPG3b You will need to download the VEOH TV software.
You can also see Ron Pearlman in Hellboy 2 there aswell. Enjoy!

Help! / Shelves and bookcases
28 February, 2008, 10:37:14 PM
Can anyone recommend a good bookcase or shelving unit for storing graphic novels.
The Mrs has bought two bookcases recently but niether are big enough or high enough to hold my graphic novel collection.
The shelves she bought look great for sticking her pots of po-puri on but are useless for my GNs.
Any advice or recommendations greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I've found this site that has really old radio shows. So far I've enjoyed the Orsen Wells Black Museum also the Peter Lorre plays "Mystery In the air". The  tabocco advertising at the end of the shows is hysterical.Hancocks half hour is also very enjoyable. here's the link. http://www.otr.net/

Help! / film title
06 January, 2008, 12:39:48 AM
I'm looking for the title of an old black and white film that features medieval knights that turn out to be ghosts at the end of the film. All i remember about the film is it was quite dark and eerie and had lots of rolling fog. There was two knights talking in a graveyard/battlefied.At the end of the film the two armies of dead knights rise up and fight. At a guess the film was made in the 30's or 40's. I've tried IMDB (no luck). I'm sure the film was mentioned once by a 2000AD writer/artist in an interview.
It's driving me nuts!!! p.s it's not the seventh seal. please help!!!!
