Despite only living in Manchester I've already booked a hotel room and train tickets. Now I just need to find an unlucky soul to have nasty hotel sex with me.

UFO's are cool if you think Robbie Williams is the epitome  of hip.

"There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life."

Far less aggressive than being collared and told that someone has died horribly and painfully for you sins. How can there be anything wrong with something so uplifting and fairly non-committal, even if it is a little half arsed and whimsical.

I want them in Manchester, instead of the Christian pap on the back of buses. Since I ride a bicycle I spend quite a lot of time trying not to look at the distracting preachy nonsense. I really should be paying attention to vehicles who seem intent on sending me to meet my maker.

Had an awful group interview the other day. Imagine your stranded on a boat with your co-interviewees, a terrible storm/fire/event has happened. No sail, no engine, no one who knows how to survive on the high seas. Arrange these 15 things in order of priority. 15 items, water, sextant, plastic sheeting, petrol, army rations, other crap, etc.

First of all, does anyone know how to use a sextant? No, well lets put that at the bottom of the list.

Do we have any way of ascertaining where we are, apart from in the middle of the pacific ocean? No, well the map is useless.

Chocolate? Well, I'm a women, hahaha, lets put that nearer the top! Yeah, Women, HA! They like chocolate.

Floating seat cushion? Well, while we're all safe on the hulking wreck of the boat it can't be that useful.

What if we all get chucked into the sea? It'll be a bloody scrum. What if there is only one of us left? Well, I'll be making a raft out of your bloated corpses.

Guess I'm the only one here who's read Watchmen.

I didn't get the job.

On a rather smaller scale I'm an unemployed recent graduate with a 2k overdraft ( not to mention student loan ) and the bank keep offering to extend my overdraft on my other account. I know a few hundred quid is small potatoes, and it's rather useful while I fail to live off jobseekers, but can't make that much sense.

I'm poorly and on jobseekers, so right now it's the bed/sofa balance.

Luckily i have minimal debt, so being out of the loop for a week or so shouldn't be too detrimental.

//http://www.thoughtbubblefestival.com/ has the cutest ever website, and although there is no details of events look pretty sweet.

One day, cheap convention on the 15th of November.

I like that it positions itself as a sequential art festival, as opposed to anything else.

Anyway, any insider gossip or news that I'm not privy to? Anyone else planning on attending?

This is why I stare at people blankly when they tell me to / ask me why I don't do a PhD.

A year on from the break up my ex still has my one and only 2000ad tshirt. The DR & Quinch one. Brought it at my one and only attempt at Dreddcon. Not that I've made much effort to get it back. ( He also, incidentally, has some Devlin Waugh artwork I gave him, but as it was a gift I can't express any claim on it.) Also, his little brother always steals his clothes.

They are both in pretty tragic bands, so sooner or later someone is going to spot one of them and mistake them for being a 2000ad fan. Mwahahaha, It's the dangerous legacy of dating me.

Film & TV / Re: Pan's Labyrinth...

My housemate gets Pan's Labyrinth and Labyrinth confused.

Kinda worrying since we have both on DVD in the house and I'm sure she's seen them recently.

I let myself get excited about The Orphanage because of the Del Toro connection, only to be both scared and disappointed.
