Although sales of City of Dredd 2134 haven't as yet warranted the 'go-ahead' to complete the sequel, Worlds of Dredd 2134, I'm in the mood to get it done n' dusted and out of the way, so work resumes next week, for publication later this year. There will be two versions: one for the iPad/Android tablets, and another for Kindle.

City of Dredd 2134 will also be re-released in ePub format for Kindle.

I'm edging closer to the publication of CITY OF DREDD 2134 (May) and WORLDS OF DREDD 2134 (July), timed to complement the release of the scrotnig new DREDD movie!

Both volumes are PDF, full colour and formatted for landscape tablet (or monitor) viewing. They are fully updated and have undergone a top-to-bottom edit. Best of all, they now contain many full colour maps! CITY OF DREDD has six, and WORLDS OF DREDD will feature as many as is necessary to span the entirety of Dredd's Earth, and outer space too!

It follows on from the closing events of the MAX BUBBA time-travelling story. Johnny Alpha has returned to his future timeline, only to find his Viking comrade Wulf Sternhammer waiting for him. Wulf refuses to return to his own time, considering his newfound friendship with Alpha as a debt to be repaid.

It's formatted to be weird, fast and breezy, like one of those one-shots for the old 2000AD annuals. I lettered it in the stlye of the b/w Marvel Comics magazines from the 1970s as they greatly appeal to me; I'm not a big fan of coloured line art. So, before criticisms are fired, the handrawn speech balloons and their wonky borders are entirely intentional I think they are more lively than perfectly-drafted ellipses.

I'd like to offer this comic strip as a sample to other publishers who might want to get me to do some stuff for them - any subject matter whatsoever, I enjoy the challenge. I'm as happy drawing somebody else's script, or writing scripts for budding artists.

I am revising the page dimensions of the PLAY DREDD novellas (which are zarjaz and reasonably quick reads if you've not looked at them) to better fit smaller screens (thery currently are designed for US Letter, the original idea being thet they could be enjoyed as digital or hardcopy). I have only been able to guess at the legibility of the new format, so would appreciate somebody (or somebodies) in the downloading a specific file (to be made available shortly) and assisting me in the optimum positioning and resizing of the text.

This question concerns having no option other than to charge a minimum amount to see a return on a hypothetical, self-published book. Here would be such a project's Vital Statistics:

US Letter-sized (8x11")
Paperback
Perfect Bound.
100 pages.

The manufacturing cost I've been quoted per print is £13.50 ... then there would be various other costs added, bringing it into the region of £20.00.

I'm requesting the opinions of others as my health circumstances mean I have to buy all my books via the post and always purchase them at discounts, so I don't know - for this kind of project - what constitutes as a reasonable starting RRP? What with the ever-increasing prices for books, might £20.00 be acceptable?

Another story I've made notes about but now can't locate .... GHOST TOWN ... published in 1984? A Daily Star strip? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have a story called 'Survival' pegged to be researched for the Black Atlantic chapter of BEYOND CITY OF DREDD, but can't find the actual story anywhere. All I know is that it features structures called 'oilbergs' and was published in the Dreddworld year of 2117. Can the Hivemind assist?

...to be more specific, later in May. I'm publishing this unofficial Judge Dredd reference book, and its sequel BEYOND THE CITY OF DREDD, using Amazon.co.uk's POD service.

Both will be US-Letter-sized, with CITY OF DREDD tallying a page-count of 400+. No prices as yet. I'll use this thread to keep interested readers updated.

Volume Two (H-Q) is published in April, and the final Volume Three (R-Z) in May. A companion - the SoMC1 Directory (an A-Z index of locations arranged by Region/Sector Number) will be published alongside Volume Three.

Two years in the making and it's nearly over! Thanks to Jim McGibbon and Ivan Noel for their help in bringing the project over the finish line. The possibility also exists of a hardcopy edition being made available in the near future.
