Help! / Tramsformers
17 February, 2008, 09:31:02 PM
I picked up a collection of Transformers last year, from issue 28- 216. Im a sucker when |I find stuff like this, great condition and free gifts, I couldnt resist.
I am slowly clearing out my unwanted comics and I am wondering what to do with them. I am totally unfamilar with Transformers. Are they worth reading and holding on to, or are they unreadable nonsence?
Is there any point listing them on ebay?

Cheers

News / Re: St. Patrick's Day T-shirts.......

I like the T shirt, wouldnt buy it, I rarely get a chance to ware the Stront and Zonbie  I allready have.(little bit due to the expanding waistline, having giving up the fags)

'Does all this Irish theme pub business grate a bit with you Irish here ?'
No it dosent grate on me at all, in my experience there is three types of Irish pubs that you will find outside Ireland.

One is the pub that you will find in sunny europe and parts of the states, its a generic, Pub, as we know it in these in these Isles, but they decide to call it Fibber Magees or something along the lines to have a sales pitch. Put a Cead mile Failte sign, Guinness sign and an English speaking bar(person for the pc).

The in Ny, Boston, and Chicago the American Irish  bars are  mostly frequented by Irish Americans ie second generation Irish. Lot of cops, fireman and builders, but since the Celtic Tiger the builders have been drying up.
Very american in style, american football on the tv, if there is an All Ireland match on the will show it.The Ethos is that you whould have some connection to Ireland.

Third is the one I would go to when im overseas.
Its a Pub thats at least run by an Irish person, would be bothered to stock the likes of Smithwicks and Bulmers, and have in the fag machine  Major and Carolls, and a touch of the GAA on the telly.( bear in mind that its a few years since I have been abroad and I dont smoke and my drinking has been seriously curtailed, expect me back with another opinion on Irish Theme pubs in approx 18 years when the kids are grown up.)

Help! / Warhammer comic.
09 February, 2008, 12:21:09 AM
Anyone on the board know where I might pick up back issues of Warhammer monthly that was out a few years ago?
Its delivery was erratic over here and after getting the first few issues, it got harder to get, so I only managed to pick up every other issue.

Games Workshop dont have back issues( but they do have the first few issues as download PDF if anyone is interested), and they dont seem to appear on ebay. Can anyone direct me to where I might pick up a few issues?
Cheers

Cheeers Tordleback  I dunno about 'unstoppable publishing machine' Possibly the slowest publishing machine!

13th Floor has gone very well only about 130 copies or so left, so if anyone hasent got one they will be gone soon.
If I have the time Im hoping to get another collection out maybe in the autumn.  I have a liking for something from Battle or maybe Adam Eterno, any requests or ideas?

They are standalone Thryllseeker, with no immediate plans to do more.
