Did the Eternal thread die?

I was given the attached sketch about 11 years ago but I can't remember the artist.

I'd like to clean up the pencil marks and then put this on a t-shirt but I don't really want to use it without permission.

Can anyone help ID the artist?

I thought it was the first who episode in ages that actually DID make sense, a nice, straightforward story and great fun. Dinosaurs, robots, Silurians, a baddie who gets his comeuppance, a hot Nefertiti and some good comedy interplay between ' The ponds' - what's not to love?. Mark Williams in particular was very good, but Mitchell & Webb seemed rather pointlessly included.

I watched this with my son (13) and his friend and we had a ball. We thought the camp robots added fun at first but then when they started getting violent it got a bit creepy ( in a good way). I didn't realise who the robots were voiced by but my son was in there like "hey that's M & W!".

"Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" - so cheesy but what a line!  Almost as good as "Clay Pidgeon shooting, with tanks"

Very silly, but a lot of fun.  Brought back memories of Tom Baker and K9. Ahhhhhhh

I did find myself cringing when the bad guy picked up Anderson's gun as I KNEW what was going to happen when he pulled the trigger - and it did. I could tell that came as a surprise to some of the audience!

I thought this part was excellently done.
Too many films have to explain things in detail and then you wait till later in the film for that thing to happen.
Dredd didn't treat the audience as stupid and let the film tell you these things.

I also noted that they included the part where a Judge can select ammo by vocal command - then used this in a clever way where Dredd (in the cafe) says something like "Your call HOTSHOT" thus selecting his ammo of choice without alerting the perp.

This seemed a running theme in the film - show in a subtle way how the world of Dredd works and then use it to bigger effect later. As Logan says, it doesn't spoon-feed the audience. Too many films have been ruined this way.

The biggest (IMHO) was Harrison Ford's voiceover and the final scene in the hovercar in Bladerunner. The audiences make their own minds up why characters act as they do.

BTW I didn't see Rebellion in the main credits or the first part of the final credits - were they? If not how come?

Oh and did any of you guys see Iron Sky recently?

Hi Everyone,

I've not posted here for a very long time - don't have the time I'm afraid - but I went to see the film last night and it was excellent.

I would waffle on but my highlights were :
1. Dredd was gritty and battered - in fact his uniform was battered and grimy at he start. Urban was excellent in his acting. As he said an actor's best tools for conveying emotion are the eyes and he didn't have this. Best scene for the acting with just the lower face was when he'd been shot and the Judge was standing overhim - the grit in the jaw was pure Dredd

2. The Slo-Mo scenes of violence were very graphic but captured what we experience in the comics - after all each frame in comic is a frozen image.

3. Attention to detail - whomever was in charge of the backgrounds had done an excellent job and clearly understood the world of Dredd - I thought the Hottie Stand ad was great and did you all spot the "Chopper" and "Kenny Who?" graffiti? Was there more?

4. Simple story - I don't meant this badly, this film could have been a Mega-Epic like "Apocalypse War" or "Judgement Day" but the Dredd character would have been lost. I think the simple story of a drugs bust with a rookie in tow going horribly wrong allows the true Dredd and his resourcefulness to come through. (As well as Anderson)

5. Being Faithful - whilst certain aspects of timeline were changed I think everything in the film stayed as close to caconical history as possible. Perhaps this could be viewed as a early point in time in Dredd's history where the PSI division was only just getting going.

All in all this film lived up to expectations and can finally bury the corpse of the celluloid disaster from the 20th Century. Can't wait to see what happens next!!

Okay my thanks go to funt for taking the time to make this post, so I will take the time to answer each of his questions. First though let me explain that this is NOT the final submisssion of the site! I want to get all the major bugs ironed out of the code before I do the polishing!

Secondly, the main thrust of the module is to use advanced design techniques to build the site. Whilst it is important to have a nicely laid out site this wasn't my main concern. Since I have had a lot of time constraints I purchased the template from a site and reconfigured it to my needs, hence the reason for a couple of quirks in the HTML. This might sound cheating but it has been documented and also I use Smarty templating, so it was also an exercise in showing how to reconfigure someone else's templates.

Sure thing guy, it is always difficult to assess the interface for useability when you know how it is supposed to work! That's why I threw it open.

I need some help testing my 2nd year Uni project in Advanced Web Design.

I've built an online DVD catalogue that allows you to keep a record of all the DVDs in your collection, sort & search using your own categories and even (eventually) report a list with an approx value (useful for insurance).

I've moved the site into Beta test and you are all invited to come and use and abuse the site. But I do need your feedback which you can send through the contact area on the site.

To be honest, wireless is the best way to go UNLESS all the machines are in the same room. If they are not you would have to lay ethernet cable around your house which is somewhat of a pain.

Wireless network cards are generally peasy to install. I personally use a Netgear router. There are now routers which either plug into the DSL line direct or the cable system (as you have now) making life easier. You should pay no more than ?80 for one.

I can't comment on the Mac for wireless (go to PC World they should be able to help) but the XP machine is easy. You can even get USB Wireless NICs now so you don't even have to take the computer cover off.

Very important : If you do use WiFi then 1) Make sure you change the admin username & password on the router and 2) make sure you use WEP encryption (the router instructions will explain this). If you don't do this then you leave your network wide open for hackers.

If you need any more advice on this then just drop me a line. I currently have 3 PCs, 1 laptop, my XBOX and my DVD Player all connecting together via WiFi - oh and there's a NetPrinter on the system as well.
