If this is you're first work I honestly can't fault it. Not really 2000AD kind of thing

I can't decide if your figure drawing is just very good or you're using photos - the style reminds me a bit of Brian Talbot's Tale Of One Bad Rat which was created using photos, especially the inking and the thick lines round the characters.

All I'd say is if you want to be a bit more 2000AD perhaps try and vary the line width more, use more dramatic lighting, put in more backgrounds (try thinner lines for far distant stuff) and be cautious of cheesy techniques such as movement lines and shading effects.

Cheers,

ADE

Hey ADE,

Many thanks! Totally agree with your comments mate, although I've been sketching for a while, this was the first time that I've attempted to ink my work. It was a bit of a steep learning curve! Still, have learnt loads from what I've done badly.

Not sure if you meant copying over photos for the figures, as I don't think I've seen Brian's work. I use reference material, but do not trace.

Thanks for adding the Artdroid link as well!

Regards,

Looks pretty good to me, yogg. Not sure I needed to see the Ukko lookalike's nads, though...
Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

Hey Noisybast, LOL Wanted the character to give that very response, many thanks!

I thought the art was quite good. The story was a bit derivative (I`m not sure of what) but could be made into a future shock of some kind.
You should do more and more, there`s a lot of promise there

Hey FloydJK,

Many thanks, to be honest the story was never anything more than a frame to build the art around, don't really see myself as a script writer. Saying that, I was reasonably happy with it in the end. It's really good to get feedback from fellow 2000ad fans, will post more stuff as and when! :o)
