That Nemo is yet another case of what looks good on page doesn't look too good when made flesh. Shame really as they seem to have copied O'Neills design exactly.
oohh.. they look a bit pants, but to be fair, they might do some serious colour tweaking in post production which'll give it that extra pizaz.
Just what I was thinking, these aren't even shots of the film, just polaroids of the set and people in costume. Most adventure movies have all kinds of atmospheric colour filters and stuff put on. Even bad adventure movies will tend to look good (sometimes too slick) if they're big enough to have a big star aboard.

in fairness. in recent years comic book movies have stuck to the facts. X men. spiderman. road to peraditoin. etc.
this is basically because when they changed things in other comic book movies.the movie failed. so we may be in a for a real treat.

As for the person who said that the fact that Connery's aboard speaks highly of its quality potential... Well, I like Sean Connery as much as the next person, but do you have any idea just how many terrible movies he's been in over his career?

Things like this do make for good enough quotes, but they aren't half a load of old bollocks.
If Michael Caine never made another movie again, I doubt he'd have any problems paying the rent. His restaurant chain alone is probably enough to keep him in the style he's accustomed to.
Anyway, let's have a straw poll: what's the worst film Michael Caine's ever made? I nominate Bullseye. Michael Caine AND Roger Moore together at last, AND it's directed by Michael Winner.
Incidentally, spare a thought for David Bishop, everyone. He's writing a book about the films of Michael Caine, and is currenly having to watch 'em all. Remember, for every Get Carter, The Italian Job or The Ipcress File in there, there's half a dozen Bullseyes or Blame It On Rios...

Definitely Blame it on Rio - I literally cringed all the way through that one, and his cameo in the Get Carter remake was some form of autoerotic necrophilia.
Mind you, I did see him recently in the Honorary Consul, and he was very good indeed.
Also for your consideration: On Deadly Ground. Not only starring, but also directed by, Steven Seagal. Caine plays a nasty oil biz industrialist out to ecologically rape the Artic.
After spending 90 minutes breaking bones and wrenching joints out of their sockets, tubby Inuit martial arts expert and dodgy ponytail-wearer Seagal gets to deliver a heartwarning message about saving the planet.
Michael, I don't care how steep the rent is on the Bel Air mansion and the Malibu beach house. Have you no shame at all?
'Dressed to Kill' was rather cringe-worthy as well.

Zardoz was on the telly the other night and I was going to watch it- just to see if it was as shit as I recall- but I forgot.

This is one of the worst films I've ever seen; the director should change his name to John Boring. Really, what the hell was Boorman trying to make light of in this film, ecology, psychology, sociology ... Give me answers here people. Now I'm all for intelligent cinema, but this film is just plain dull, it doesn't even make sense when you try to look at the plot. And what about all those topless women, it may be nice to look at but why are they there, are women not aloud clothes in the future or something. This is campy, sci-fi masquerading as high art, it's pure self-indulgence on Boorman's part. And whoever had the idea of putting Connery into those pants should be shot... Avoid like the plague...
All of which is more or less true, and yet it remains one of my favoritest films evah.

Never seen Zardoz, but know the basic plot. However, I do like Dune a lot. It has to be said as flawed as it is, its a valiant attempt to portray a book thats extremely multi faceted. With some rather grand themes. Its David Lynch for fecks sake..... Of course its gonna be odd.
