Queen Firey-Bou

memo to self;
before joining in a long thread speculation about something, how about actually look at the story which has sparked it all off...

which i now have, i really like it, tho its a tad murky as oft these computery ones are. i would say now not hinkleton. good stuff.

Emperor

Soooooooooo was it Tom Carney then?

Sorry I was looking for something different and Bou's copy and paste of everyone threw me off track. I couldn't pass up the chance for a necropost.
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

I'd quite like to know, too. Given the time that has passed surely we can know now?

This is what happens when people don't fill out their Census forms.

So the Shaun Thomas mystery has still not been solved, then? Hmmm.

I remember the speculation about whether or not he was John Hicklenton - I wasn't sure at the time, but looking at some of the art from the Silent Hill comics Thomas did in 2005 did make me wonder. But then, even after Hicklenton passed on, there was no mention of him ever using "Shaun Thomas" as a pseudonym, so I assume we can discount that theory.

So if that's the case, I wonder why Thomas abruptly vanished from the comics scene four years ago? It's a bit odd that he was so prolific between 2003-08, and then just...stopped.

Fatboydale

It was Tom Carney , got an email about his artwork somewhere .

Emperor

Then it looks like Leigh wins the prize:

The odd helmet in this weeks put me in mind of Tom Carney (IIRC), but Lol was also a contender in my mind til WR Logan ruled him out... unless its a double bluff! :)

Wasn't Tom Carney also one of Alan Grants faves from back then, so that would link in - which name is the pseudonym - the new or the old?

Only took 8 years to break this one.

This thread never dies, does it?  And I'm not surprised Tom Carney changed his name along with his style after churning out this kind of bearded, Stallone-helmeted gubbins:

"Men will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest"
