QuoteThe first novel set in the War of the Worlds universe from the cult comic book hit Scarlet Traces, picking up the story directly from the climax of H.G. Wells' classic.
November 1898, four months after the Martians' failed invasion of the United Kingdom, leaving priceless technology scattered among London's ruins. As reconstruction begins, Germany sends men and resources to aid in the recovery; not entirely trusting Kaiser Wilhelm's goodwill, the Queen's spymaster sends his trusted agent Ampney Crucis to spy on the German workers.
In the shadows of the city, mutilated bodies are turning up in the new slums. With so many still missing and so much still to be done, the case is all but overlooked, handed over to the police department's most junior detective, Valentine Bey. As Bey begins his investigations, he crosses paths with Crucis, and the two men discover a plot that could change the world.
Something survived the War of the Worlds; something that lives still under London. And there are many who would kill to get their hands on it...

QuoteHave confirmation that this omission has been noted and adjusted in the digital editions and all future printings will be corrected.
Quote from: Richard on 31 October, 2023, 08:09:18 PMThe first Bladers was in prog 2306.
Quote from: Richard on 31 October, 2023, 01:21:09 PMCadet Dredd was better than usual. Lowborn High was better than usual.Wait, what...?
I liked the art on the Future Shock, although I thought the story was a bit weak; the ending was okay though.
I hated Bladers so much last time that I doubt I'll read this one.
The cover was the best thing in this issue for me. I'd like to see this artist in the regular prog.
Quote from: Max Headroom on 20 October, 2023, 08:18:14 PMAre we thinking that we might get a reprint of the physical version at some point? Or, is it more likely that just the digital copy will be amended? Being a perfectionist and completist I would by another trade paperback to replace my erroneous copy, but would others do the same?Yes, I certainly would. That was one reason why I contacted Rebellion about this problem.

I'm not up on my Batman lore.
Anyway - thanks!
Quote from: Richard on 20 October, 2023, 11:37:23 AMThanks, Batman's cousin.
(I'm not using the adjective publicly just in case I run into your cousin. But I'm secretly thinking it.)
QuoteOh my sincere apologies, I misunderstood you to mean the words were present, but printed outside of the speech bubble!
Going to raise with the head editor and head of reprographics.
Many thanks for bringing this to our attention and will be in touch soon.
(though maybe not until Monday+ now)

QuoteHello there, I hope you're well and apologies for the wait.
We've of yet only had one printing of Case Files 42 and I've just checked three different copies here at the office and not one of them has the error you mention so I suspect that Forum member Richard's copy must be one off.
(At least, as far as I can tell)
If you DO pick one up and it's got this error you let me know, with a picture ofc, and we'll happily replace.
