Anyone else playing these?
I'm clubbing them together as they are both very similar in style, both expanding on what was done in Infinity Blade 1 by being timing and reaction fighters with upgradable kit

Both are kind of repetitive but look REALLY nice on the ipad and I keep going on for a quick 5 minute burst and losing an hour, especially on IB2

Infinity Blade was impressive on a technical level, but I became bored of it extremely quickly. The playing area is just so tiny that playing it again and again just gets tedious, and while the combat is quite fun, its essntially a series of boss QTEs. If they could expand the whole thing into a zelda type adventure with more control over movement and a bit more variety etc I'd be interested, but I'm not fussed about IB2 at the moment as it just looks like more of the same.

Yeah, it is really but a much bigger map and more variety in the fighting styles you have to adapt to.
The fact you can just have a 5 minute blast and get one guy further along is what sells it to me for an ipad game though. Got some longer play stuff like Final Fantasy on there but keep coming back to the short burst stuff and this and Batman are pretty much top of the pile for that

....excluding Angry Birds obviously   ::)

IB2's good. Then again, I liked the original, which works well when you realise it's Punch-Out!! with swords, not some kind of epic and sprawling quest. (The sequel's basically the same, just with more variety.)

Batman's a bit hrmmm. Quite nice in part and satisfyingly punchy, but it doesn't take long to finish the thing. I am also very narked that the damn game re-locks all the levels once you finish it, meaning I now have to play the entire bloody thing again for a tips section I'm writing for a magazine. ARGH.

I'm defo waiting for an iOS price drop for both...I've bought way too many App games that I've only played once or twice- and while looking sweet graphically, my inner magic 8-ball tells they'll suffer a similar fate!
