Oh you dangerous silly Podcast you.

I'd never read any 'Billy's Boots', or at least don't consiously remember doing so - see many previous comments about my dodgy memory - and so had safely tucked 'Billy's Boots' edition into the category of "phew don't know this one, have no reference to it, so can save money and avoid".

Therefore when listening to this one I did so out of mild curiosity... and then Richard S and Eamonn's (one M two, N's Taylor, one M two N's) fascinating chat and revelation - to me at least - that this strip lasted over 20 year in various publications well and truly peaked my interest and now I feel I need to pick this up to appease the comic Gods of my utter ignorance.

Damn you stop having interesting conversation about things I could otherwise safely ignore!

Tim Burnell joins me in the Espresso library to talk about Strontium Dog: The Final Solution.
Spoilers abound as we chat about the lasting influence of Simon Harrison and Colin MacNeil's artwork.

One image that always sticks in my mind from that run is the cityscape of Milton Keynes with the wall (splash page opening an episode - possibly Feral's first appearance).  I'm not saying that would be my grailpage, but it sticks in my head.

Here's one for your bunkers. Celebrating the fabulous artwork of Don Lawrence in a lovely new collection of The Trigan Empire from the Treasury of British Comics with Chris Weston himself.

Been away from the board a while, trying to process all the madness, but I really enjoyed the Final Solution podcast. Glad I'm not the only person who liked it!

Also, I'm one of the few people who thought Feral was a good character, and I think Simon Harrison absolutely nailed the rebel street-fighter look. In fact I loved Simon Harrison's take on the whole thing, but I loved Colin McNeil's painted work on the series too (including the not-very-well-hidden swear words scrawled on Milton Keynes' walls).

Cheers, JBC.

Just listened to the Trigan Empire episode, fascinating to hear Chris reminiscing about being mentored by Don. Great stuff, thanks Eamonn.

Eamonn, the show is fantastic. Last few episodes have been a great distraction, I'm sure for all of us who listen.

Keep up the brilliant work.

Pete Wells

Some downright libellous claims from the host at the beginning and that lady's accent is ridiculous! Another fantastic episode. Thanks Eamonn (and Whittle!)

Oh, and EVERYONE knows I'm Stacey's real husband.
