Staying in the Dreddverse this month - from Tharg's Choice for May Uwe de Witt:

QuoteI'd love to see a Chopper-comp

SO CHOPPERCOMP WE SHALL!

Marlon Shakespeare (a creation of John Wagner & Ron Smith ) is one of the Dreddverses most iconic cit characters. Will you explore his early years as a restless wall scrawling teen? His daring escape from Justice and race towards Supersurf 10? The bloody and tragic events of Supersurf 11? His return to the big meg and face-off with Dredd? Or now, in his old age in Oz?

There will be a GN straight from the nerve centre for the winner, and one for Tharg's Choice - and there will also be a bonafide 2000 AD droid choosing their favourite entries! All entries will be viewable here, on our dedicated FB page and on the official 2000 AD Tumblr!!

Rules for the art comp are these:

- You can enter as many times as you like but bear in mind it will split your vote so it may not be worth it.

- All entries have to be constructed specifically for this competition - so nothing you've done for anything else.

- You can enter either here or by directly putting it on our FB wall here: https://www.facebook.com/2000adartcomp/

YOU HAVE UNTIL THE 28TH OF JUNE WHEN WE SHALL CHEW ON THE VOTING KANGAROO

Dandontdare

Dumb all over, a little ugly on the side.

Great work gents - after the Lord Mayor's show...

It's a while since I've entered a comp but it's only fair that I take my share of last place finishes.

What we have here is a reimangining of an epic Super Surf contest, but in the medium of meat. The image is slightly let down by the fact that the Chop, on whom the whole pun rests, actually looks like a bit of bacon.

The burger is catching up fast but poor old Mr T-Bone wishes he made it to the toilet before he set off! A nod to former glories there!

Fungus

Ha!  :D
Supersurf & Turf, surely.

Pete Wells

But... Where are the piss stains, Buttonman?

T-Bone has pissed himself! It's subtle!

"Dan Dare - Journey Through Time".

Here is my entry for the June Art Competition.

It is part of my 36 page comic strip "Dan Dare - Journey Through Time".

This project aims to conclude the final 2000A.D. Dan Dare story that was never completed (finished abruptly, see Prog 126 – just before 2000AD merged with Tornado, with Dan on the run and trying to clear his name. The storyline was never to be resolved and Dan Dare never returned to the comic as promised to it's readers).

Now based in Rome, Gavin Aslett – a hugely talented photographer, television graphic designer, video producer (he's worked with bands such as Suzerain on their promotions) storyboard artist and more – has created this conclusion to the story which ends the 2000AD Dan Dare's saga, which he tells us Pat Mills has mentioned to Rebellion.

https://patmills.wordpress.com/tag/dan-dare/

"The story took over a year to complete as I referenced original artwork by Dave Gibbons to keep the continuity of the strip and try to give the story a conclusion," says Gavin.

"I think after 35 years it deserved one!"

"I would be over the moon if Rebellion used my strip to conclude the story in the Graphic Novel reprints."

I don't think you've quite grasped the rules of the art competition, there...

Cheers

Eh, exactly. This very worthwhile project is not eligible I'm afraid due to it:

A) Not being related to the theme
B) Not being "specifically for this competition" which is in the rules
C) Those first two re-emphasised again
D) All of the above

g2525

sorry i meant no offence - i didn't read the rules correctly and now i understand it was just for chopper.

anyway best of luck with the competition.
