Website and Forum / Any plans for an Android App?
13 December, 2014, 11:01:05 PM
I'm thinking of going digital and I'm looking at the different options for buying my prog when I noticed that there is an IOS 2000AD app, but not one for Android.

Any plans to release one?

Games / Titanfall

This almost passed me by because I thought it was an Xbox one exclusive but it appears that it is also heading to the PC and 360 too.

I've been feeling pretty burnt out on online shooters lately, I haven't enjoyed a COD game since 4 and BF3 never really floated my boat but I really like the look of Titanfall. They have pinched ideas from a few different shooters, it's a mix of COD, Tribes and Mechwarrior with some cutscenes and other elements taken from single player games to flesh things out.

I had it down as another COD clone when I first saw it, but after watching the gameplay vids I was grinning like a loon and throwing my wallet at the screen  ;).

Anyone else playing this?

For the uninitiated its a free mod for the PC military simulator Arma 2: Combined ops, it's taking off in a big way, so much so that its boosted Arma 2 to the top of the Steam sales charts.

It's more of a multiplayer survival sim than a game, you start out on the coast of a 225 km2 zombie infested island, completely defenceless with nothing but a flash-light, painkillers and bandages. There is no other objective to the game other than survival, you have to find yourself weapons and equipment by searching towns and cities and keep yourself fed and watered by foraging and hunting for food and drink.

There are three main dangers in the game - The computer controlled Zombies, other players and the bugs (the mod is very playable but still in alpha).

It's completely unforgiving with a very steep learning curve, you will die a lot before you get to grips with the basics but its shaping up to be a great game, I'm finding it to be a breath of fresh air compared to the linear nature and hand holding that you get from a lot of modern games.

Prog / Prog 1787 - His Darkest Hour.
09 June, 2012, 11:10:49 AM
Cover - A superb cover by Jon Davis-Hunt, beautiful colouring with the city in flames reflected in Dredd's grim visage.

Dredd - Chaos day is here and after the almost light relief of PJ Vs the dark morons last week we have a very grim start to the day of chaos proper as
the Academy of law is attacked and destroyed
.
The Flint droid is on fire this week with so many stand out moments, his panel depicting a young cadet being blown apart, sacrificing himself on a grenade is brilliantly grim.
A+ Comics don't get better than this.

The rest of the prog will have to wait, while I was typing this my 2 year old has begun her own day of Chaos by emptying the wife's moisturiser all over the lounge carpet  :(.

Welcome to the board / Howdy

Hi, I Just wanted to say hello, I'm a long time lurker who just got around to signing up on the forums, I used to hang around in the 2000AD newsgroup a few years back but drifted away for probably the same reason everyone else did. My name is Rog, I live in Warwickshire and I've been reading 2000AD since issue 1 but only as a regular reader since 799 (I think it was that last panel of judgement day that hooked me back in) and now I look forward to that big white envelope dropping on my doormat every week.
