Well, I never thought Kirkman would do that :o
Hats off...
:-X
"OMG I can't believe XXXX has been killed by XXXX in a shock twist."
Review of every 9th issue of Walking Dead.
Well at least it had a zombie in it
I've been reading since issue 1, but this had the least impact for me. I felt more :'( when
Andrea
got killed :-X :-\
Having not read nor even tracked the comic in years, I immediately thought "I bet X has happened". Turns out, I was right. I'm not sure if that's down to TWD being a bit predictable, or me being a massive cynic, mind.
Not as bigger shocker than in 193 as far as I hear. With the events of 192 it probably makes sense?!?
OK, I will admit I wasn't expecting that twist.

Too bloody right! Just finished reading it. I have to admit, I agree with Kirkman 100%. Exactly how it should be done. All I'm going to say is that it is one issue that really does deserve to be read.
a worthy finish to a great series
Wow, did not see that coming, hats off to Kirkman for doing that.
We might get Charlie back in 2k again!

A particularly cruel and unusual Tharg would offer him
Defoe.

Charlie's own vampire series has just kicked off.
Would love to see him tighten up his art again, working on TWD really took his style in a very loose direction to accommodate the schedule.
Building on success: Fiends off the Eastern Front?
given White Death, the new vampire stuff and .... er zombies
So one issue per customer and a bumper one... take it these will be our golden tickets.
sold out at my shop luckily it was in my file

After buying it all this time I was a bit pissed off that without warning it endsand is sold out and I had to get it from a scalper and then wait a week while everyone gleefully posts spoilers. Thanks a fucking bunch Kirkman.
I quite enjoyed the comic but still a shite way to handle a final issue.

Yeah, I agree that this sudden end feels like an unnecessary rug pull. "This comic that you've been reading and invested in for over a decade? It's over. Gotcha!"
A fucking YouTube video title spoiled the surprise for me.

The guy in FP Glasgow who had sold out spoiled it for me while telling me they sold out >:(
Charlie Adlard confirms he's done with zombies, and with long-running series in general: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-shropshire-49277449 (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-shropshire-49277449)
Good, let's get him on a Dredd one-off!

Well if Charlie is financially secure maybe he'll pop back to the House of Tharg, just for old times sake ;)
Well being a filthy trade waiter, I never had any problems with getting the final volume.
Apart from the obvious spoiler of knowing it was the last issue, that worked pretty well for me. Yes, it didn't have enough Zombies, yes there was too much speechifying, and yes, the characters just tell you how they feel and the reason they are doing things rather than it evolving naturally. And yes, these actions don't always feel consistent. But this is TWD, we expect that all by now.
But an optimistic and hopeful, if not entirely, ending and humanity on the up is what I wanted.
With a series this size, you'll never get everything tied in a bow but I would have thought at least one scene showing new procedures for dealing with death given that they say several times that "x has never seen a walker" (maybe I missed it).
