Depressingly, the BNP have already leapt on the bandwagon - they make ambulance-chasers look like amateurs...

Not sure which I'd prefer, a Harlem Heroes Louis Meyer brain in a jar with rocket thrusters, an Inferno Louis Meyer in a transparent glass head on a robot body.

He'd be gutted (well figuratively) if all Justice Dept had left was the same model that they used for Bonnie Rickle...

I'm not as anti the art as some, but I really think this story should have been given over to a more established artist.

I would have loved to have seen MacNeill's take on this week.

just pretend to execute them by lethal injection, then convince them they have actually died, and the afterlife is the Big Brother house for eternity

I think that would be pretty soul-destroying...

I'm never surprised how low some of the rolling news channels can sink.

ITV have already rolled out the crosshair over britain graphic and gone overboard with pointless speculation and stupid questions to the Assistant Commissioner of the Met.

Sky are using their Skystrator, crap graphics of buses exploding and their 'Skycopter'.

The BBC is just as bad, they'll inevitably show anyone caught up in a tragedy watching the events unfold on News 24. They did it with Soham, they did it with the Tsunami and sure enough they did it today.

It's utterly tasteless that they piggyback their brand on people's misery.

Off Topic / Re: London get the Olympic bid!......

It's not anything wrong with Cardiff, just an odd choice considering that they make a big deal of it being London winning the bid, not the other side of the country.

The journey time to Paris by train isn't that much more than the one from Cardiff to London.

If it's a London bid, wouldn't Wembley have made more sense?

Plus whenever there's a final or playoff in Cardiff, Paddington becomes a heaving mess and is a nightmare for anyone visiting their family in the West of England...

Sorry just having a flashback to when the geniuses at National Rail decided to have engineering works on a Cup Final Day...

The sailing is in Weymouth, apparently.

I heard that the football is going to be in Cardiff(!).

To be honest I'm in two minds about the whole thing, yeah it'd be great to have the East End regenerated, but it's tempered with the impression that it will go way over budget and council-tax payers will foot the bill for that.

Of course if they had Aeroball as an Olympic sport, that would be different...

Effects usually aren't final for trailers, there's all sorts of tweaking that can be done between now and the next 6 months before release...

I wouldn't mind seeing the Sontarans again...

Maybe they shouldn't just be looking at the bad guys though, I'd love to see more of a UNIT presence in a couple of stories, with a Brigadier-type recurring character.

The guy who painted the chosen portrait said he was influenced by Mike McMahon.

They had him wandering about Forbidden Planet flicking through the hardback of The Cursed Earth with some closeups of McMahon episodes.

Yeah, I know - I just find it a lot tougher to do that with something that is a live-action comic book, than something that is fully animated.

I think it's just down to the live action being out of place when comic book conventions are used.

Maybe it's just me.

I haven't seen it since I saw it at the cinema, and although I thought it looked great, it didn't particularly grab me throughout.

Leaving aside the sexism thing, I'm just not sure how well a faithful conversion of such stylised source material works when converted to live action.

The same applies to what I've seen of Speed Racer, and 300 - it's that weird gap where I could be more involved if it was just animated rather than some halfway house between animation and live action.
