There's a bloke at my office whose name, and I kid you not, is Marshal Fear.

That is by far the coolest name I have ever heard...

This was fab, just watched it now.

In the spirit of the thing, I think I may have deduced something.  Reckon that Mycroft's female assistant will turn out to be Moriarty.

Two weeks from now I look either very smug or very stupid...

There's the obligatory reprints of both Halo Jones and DR and Quinch too.

Plus this...

Good spot.  They are only on the US S&S site though, not the UK one, so maybe what S&S are taking over is all stateside packaging and distribution, with Rebellion continuing the existing UK range unabated.  Now that would be the best of both worlds!

I think this is tied into the american reprint set-up, at a guess.  A quick nip over to the S&S website has brought up new US printings of Judge Death Lives (yawn), ABCs and Nemesis, in addition to the new Case Files 1 reprint someone posted a couple of weeks ago

There's also this, which seems like ann art book?  Could be interesting

Another vote for Bellardinelli's Battle of Clontarf here!  It even fits the theme, as Sláine's first time 'mission'.

BTW, Styrofoam kid, who's the hot chick in the middle of your icon?  Yum!

(Crosses fingers that it's not Styrofoam's underage daughter...)

Yes, I forgot about battle of clontarf - that would be good (although I'm doubtful about it's chances of inclusion, to be honest).

Mike - my ailing memory isn't sure if it splits the robin hood stuff.  Just went with everything post Horned God until I got close to the 170 pages listed on the forthcoming books site.  If they dropped a couple of the less continuity specific stuff like the poster prog etc then they could work in the next storyline from the prog.  Or they could just extend the page count, cos I'd like an uncut Slaine if poss.

With the Sláine book, it's unlikely anything's been paginated yet. If someone wanted to provide a guide for Rebellion regarding how the complete story would look, in chronological order, I'm sure they'd appreciate it and, if possible, might change the flat-plan accordingly. Note, though, that the GNs have changed hands—Keith's doing them now and Jon's moved over to Abaddon full-time.

Well, if the stated book length of 170 pages is right, then I think it should look something like this (with thanks to Barney and Touched by the hand of tharg):

Slaine the High King, 1992 Yearbook (Sep. 1991). Story by Mills, art by Glenn Fabry. 9 pages

The Jealousy of Niamh, 2 episodes, progs 850-851 (Sept. 1993). Story by Mills, art by Greg Staples & Nick Percival. 12 pages

Demon Killer, 8 episodes, progs 852-859 (Sept. to Oct. 1993). Story by Mills, art by Glenn Fabry (pts 1-7) and Dermot Power (pt 8). 48 pages

The Return of the High King, Slaine Poster Prog #1. Story by Mills, art by Dermot Power. 6 pages

The Queen of Witches, 8 episodes, progs 889-896 (May to July 1994). Story by Mills, art by Power. 48 pages

The Name of the Sword, 7 episodes, progs 950-956 (July to Sept. 1995). Story by Mills, art by Greg Staples. 43 pages

But I'm not digging out the progs to check!  Does that seem right to people?  TS?

hmm, lots of new stuff just appeared on Amazon, Including:

Dredd: Mechanismo (176 pages)
Sinister Dexter: Money Shots (192 pages)
Dredd: CF 14 (272 pages)
Tales of the Dead Man (92 pages)
Robo-Hunter: The droid files 1 (384 pages)
Anderson: The psi files (384 pages)
ABC Warriors: Volgan War 2 (96 pages)
Strontium Dog: Blood Moon (192 pages)

Whicg is a pretty strong list, expect I'll pick up everything except sin/dex and ABCs.

The Robo-hunter and Anderson books appear to be reboots in the case file series - and whilst this is definately how they should have been done in the frst place it is a bit annoying if you've shelled out for the first three Robo-hunter books (me ;)

VERY pleased to see mechanismo though - and guessing this is an indication that the case files won't incorporate meg stories when they get that far????

Right then, Amazon (yeah I know, but they're usually about 80% accurate) are listing some new trades for the second half of the year.  They've just put up:

Defoe: 1666 (128 pages)
Flesh (176 pages)
Nikolai Dante: Amerika (208 pages)

What do people reckon?  For me, I'll just be picking up Dante and missing the Pat-fest

Help! / Re: wireless network help needed!
24 November, 2008, 02:11:44 PM
Quote from: "Wake"I recently helped solve someone's wireless connection problem. They were able to use Instant Messenger, but not the web. The problem was that a use DNS server box hads been ticked. I think it might have happened when a Norton firewall expired.

Thanks Wake, that sounds like a good place to start.  Excuse the non-technical nature of this next question, but assuming that what I need to do is untick said use DNS server box, where would I find it??  Can I just do a search for this or will I need to find it in a sub-menu somewhere?

Appreciate the help

Help! / wireless network help needed!
24 November, 2008, 01:42:06 PM
Hello everyone,

This is by way of being a plea for advice, as my PC has gone belly up and there seems to be a reasonable degree of computer-savvyness on this board!

Basically, I've lost my wireless network connection.  I recently installed Norton 360 on my machine, and, within a day or so, my wireless network connection had gone. Simply disappeared. Bizarrely, the various networks run by neighbours etc were still showing on the list of available networks, but the network I use (my flatmates AOL one) simply didn't show up anymore.

Assuming that this had something to do with the Norton firewall, I disabled that, to no effect.  So I then fiddled with the Norton settings a bit (very technical, that last bit) and the network came back.  Great, I thought.  Unfortunately, once the machine had been restarted the network was gone again. So I replicated what I did last time, but no joy...

Anyway, I used my flatmates machine to scour the web for insight, and basically saw that many other Vista users had had a similar problem.  So, I stripped Norton off the machine, and the network immediately reappeared!

Confident that this was sorted, I switched the machine off.  Upon restarting, though, the network is once again nowhere to be seen.  As a bizarre side effect, I can no longer run itunes, as Quicktime seems to have disappeared from my machine too!

So, here is my plea:
1) can anyone tell me what the bloody hell is going on?
2) can anyone tell me how to fix it?

Hope no-one minds a long-time lurker and only occasional poster popping up asking for help, but I really am stuck.  Help me 2000ad messageboard, you're my only hope!

Quote from: "Bad Andy"It'll probably be about £15 on Amazon as well. Bargain.

Hell of a lot less than that - it's up for £11.87 at the moment.  Mine's on pre-order so that's what I'm paying.... :D
