Here's our puss, Michael Johnson with a new toy...

Michael Johnson?
I have to know Pete, why is he called Michael Johnson?

So would we! We got Michael Johnson for my daughter's fourth birthday and naturally let her name him. We were expecting 'Tiddles' or 'Fluffy' or something so were amazed and confused when she came up with Michael Johnson - there's no one at her school called that and it doubtful she'd have heard of Michael Jackson. A quick google tells us he was an Olympic sprinter, but again, there's no way she would have known that.

What's cool is he always gets his full title, never anything else. He's Michael Johnson, see?

I know somebody called Michael Johnson.  He has a very tenuous 2000AD link.  He used to promote gigs under the name Uncle Nemesis, named after the Shriekback song, which itself featured our very own Warlock in the music video, barely visible in the background of this picture:

She is my beloved 16 year-old Khaleesi
New to the forum & still quite new to 2000AD, but there is a collection of comics older than me in residence.

I am NOT a happy Doc,
Jack the dog has to undergo treatment for chronic leukaemia.
Worse... they have to remove an eye. He had already lost the use of it... but it's apparently under great pressure and causing him a great deal of pain... dare not think of the worse case scenario. he always seams so health... even now. I don't want to believe it... v v upset...
Jack recovered from the operation and apart from the missing eye he is behaving like his old happy irrepressible doggie self. In the words of the vet "he doesn't know he is ill yet."
Waiting anxiously for test results.

All the best Doctor Alt!

Not a pet, but the other day we found a snake in our fishpond.

On one hand, I'm a bit concerned about the fate of our fish, although I think this breed of snake is more partial to frogs, something we also have plenty of. Not that I'm keen on the cute little hoppers getting scarfed, but I understand their odds are good, and they're not trapped in the one place being air breathers.

On the other hand, I'm really excited we have/had a snake. It's not something one sees regularly, and it's pretty big. (I don't mean python-big. It's just tempting to envision grass snakes (I'm 90% sure that's what this is) as small. Word on line is they can reach a metre in length, but although I have my doubts about that.  I didn't see it all, as only a part of it was above the surface, but it was over half an inch thick. Closer to an inch I believe.

Amazing critter. I'm just hoping  next time we see it, it doesn't have coy carp sized bulges down its length...

Big Red (aka Cosmo).  Gone the way that all pets eventually do.  Being a stray, we think he was 17 years old, but could've been older.  Gonna miss you, mate.

Typical dogs! You don't need a hoover or a dishwasher with them!
