Prog / Re: Prog 2167 - PANTEMONIUM!
01 February, 2020, 08:31:04 PM
Prog arrived safe today ( and on time ) not had chance to read it due to moving items from
my old house and to the new house - so will post my impressions of it tomorrow -
anyway
very impressed with the new for sale Issue Binder I bought from 2000AD , it has allowed me to bind together
all my loose Prog's that feature Jaegir ( and are not inside the collected volume by Rebellion )
the white synthetic linen binding tape is very easy to use - and holds the issues safe and snug -

Can I ask anyone from 2000AD to reply if the ACTION 2020 Annual will be sold seperate on the 2000AD website please ??

ACTION
It horrified prudes and censors alike – but the ground-breaking Action is back!

The 1970s comic they tried to ban returns with the same blend of unbeatable characters and no-holds-barred action – all brought to you by the best talents of today! Featuring the killer shark Hookjaw by Dan Lish, juvenile delinquency in Kids Rule OK by Ram V and Henrick Stahlstrom, frontline German Panzer with Hellman of Hammer Force by Garth Ennis and Mike Dorey, merciless secret agent action with Dredger by Zina Hutton, and the brand new Hell Machine by Henry Flint.

Plus, the exclusive edition available from the 2000 AD website will come with a bagged reproduction of the 'banned' issue of Action from October 1976!

going to ask yet again - can they feature an interview with either Pat Mills
or Gerry Finlay-Day please ?

Read the Comic on Monday ( when it arived ) and it was Bliss , sheer bliss
can say that the Prog has already hit new heights this month -
all the stories were marvellous , as stated - BRINK is just sublime
PROTEUS VEX is really hitting the spot , and ZAUCER OF ZILK is just mad-cap fun
I also greatly enjoyed JUDGE DREDD - with the art from Dan Cornwell which is a stand-out
( Rok of Reds was first occasion I spotted him in 2016 )

finally FERAL AND FOE - this is a very detailed and heartfelt story about being on the losing side
and paying for the consequences
( all we need is the return of Jaegir , Kingmaker and ABC Warriors to cement the year )

Can I just add one dissent -
where the XXXX ( ONE CREDIT FINE ) is BRASS SUN ?

its been ages since it appeared in the Prog ( ie 2017–2018 )

also  when is "Helium" coming back in 2000AD  which was last shown in 2015 -
where is this ? - its is now 5 years ago and no word since //

how many books will be needed to collect he whole series?

On the amazon page the back of the book says its the first volume collecting all the stories done by Lawrence, is this just for the Trigan Empire or all other stories done by Lawrence ?

Just confirm - there will be 4 Volumes of the Trigan Empire - see the link for confirmation

Too busy with work last few weeks to post anything here on the Forum
but I have to say Feral and Foe is very good - very impressed

I have to also say that I was happily surprised by the Zaucer of Zilk.
Good artwork and a nice change from the usual stories inside

Proteus Vex - this is a new story that I am enjoying immensely - as ever
I am impressed with the strong storyline - I also love Henry Flint's art on it.

Brink still is just wonderful T- a standout in the Prog alongside Jaegir for me
which i also hope comes back very soon .

Dreadful week with my home life  - and for added hassle my copy never did turn up - phone Subscriptions
and replacement was mailed to me early this week - and that has not turned up

really kicking myself  for not buying the Prog at local WH Smith - and now that's gone from shelves

received latest issue ( 2158 ) but not read it for obvious reasons
all - really frustrating

Read my Prog , for once when it arrived this Saturday
my thoughts were that it was a very good issue
- I have to admit , I am now liking the artwork in Defoe.
Pat Mills is doing a good job with the writing ( I look forward to the return of Slaine and ABC Warriors )

Dredd was yet again just lovely - with the artwork just sublime  .

Brinkwas Again just marvelous .

Hope was another top rate story , the art is brilliant and its a real joy to read

Finally Deadworld is the top rate story for me , and Dave Kendall has made his art
really stand out , I am ashamed to admit it , but this is the story where I first sat up and took
notice of who the artist was  , and seek him out to say so on Social Media .
Shout out to all the guys that have created and worked on it !

5 out of 5 for me ( Defoe has won me over )

Prog finally Arrived today -

Dredd - Top Knotch and building up to an interesting problem how Dredd will take over the Missile Sites
with only 2 People and a Droid , and help from the resistance who are only in small numbers

Defoe
- The Story is not bad , I finding the artwork ' different ' to the normal fare - and that's probably not a bad thing - I would say that the artwork is better than Scott Harrison's bewildering
artwork in Strontium Dog (  for me , it was the weakest ever in Strontium Dog ) .

At least I can follow the story and his Space ships are really different and creative -
I see now what Pat Mills sees in the Artist SK Moore - and I am glad the guy is getting work
in 2000AD - hopefully his artwork gets even better and better with practice  .
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please note - 2000AD - can we be exposed to Fay Dalton in a strip ??  :-* :-*
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brink Just sublime writing and great art that does the job -
not showy , but its gets the job done ( like the Hawker Hurricane ) .

The Fall of Deadworld
I am loving this Story , and Dave Kendall's artwork really is great -
for me , the highlight of the Prog , after Jaegir has ended  .
Hope -  very well written and good and writing that you can follow easily .
over all 4 out of 5 -
Looking forward to next week !

Prog finally arrived today ( Monday ) overall I really enjoyed it

Judge Dredd - a continuation of a great story from John Wagner - its getting better and better !

Defoe - The Divisor, Part 2.
The artwork has settled down and above all , you can clearly work out what is happening -
the story itself is very good from Pat Mills and I look forward to it next week.

Brink - Hate Box, part 2.
The first episode now has the rookie joined up with our heroine and I am sure things will hot up soon
( I like the Talking heads style - its a nice change and cerebral )

Hope - Under Fire, part 2.
Just very good story telling that happens to have sublime artwork , one of the top stories in the prog

Deadworld - Doomed, part 2.
I also agree with others that along with Jaegir - This strip has become one of my most favoured stories . I also agree that Dave Kendall , has produced great artwork yet again !
overall Prog Marks - 4 and half out of 5
