Games / Sniper Elite 5 Easter Egg
31 May, 2022, 06:26:49 PM
Hi everyone, it's been a while! I was playing Sniper Elite 5 (it's brilliant of course!), and I found this fun Easter egg. It's tucked away in a building on the 3rd mission, a picture of a certain dashing fellow, the 'King' himself :D

Games / Rebellion now own the Bitmap Brothers IP
26 November, 2019, 12:23:52 AM

I wasn't expecting that! With a suitably 90s britsoft pic of the lads, to boot. I'm glad Rebellion have got it, but I hope they do something with it!

What would you like to see come back, if they're snapping up neglected British videogame IP? I'd kill for a modern Cannon Fodder myself! I'd also ask Rockstar if they're arsed about Body Harvest..

Help! / Dredd Comic For Kids
11 August, 2019, 01:58:38 AM
Am I going crazy, or did 2000ad publish a separate comic in the mid-90s which was Dredd but a kind of reimagining, and much more traditional and family friendly? I remember a story about Dredd training a cadet but that's all I've got. I have no idea what the keyword would be to make Google or it's disfigured brother Bing reveal this to me!

'Major unannounced title'.. dare we dream? I guess it could be Sniper Elite 5, though I think they have said in some official capacity that they're working on that already so hopefully that counts as announced. I'd also love to see another AVP game from Rebellion..

Help! / Lawgiver ammunition types
21 June, 2018, 08:12:29 PM
I was wondering if the experts could help me, is there an official order for the ammunition types in the Lawgiver's settings? like 1 - Standard, 2 - Armour Piercing etc?

Games / A Couple of Ideas for Rebellion
11 June, 2018, 03:35:47 PM
I was playing through Sniper Elite 4 again recently and it's definitely the best one yet, especially with the co-op, but I'm perhaps getting a little WW2 thematic fatigue with it. Rebellion also have a ton of 2000ad properties, why not mash them up?

Stealth some Dredd into the global consumer's diet for example. Sniper Elite: Cursed Earth, a game where you play an SJS Judge ordered off into the cursed earth to take down the leader and top brass of a rapidly growing insurgent mutant army that has taken over a load of townships and will soon be knocking on the walls of MC1. Rumour has it the leader of the army is a Judge that took the long walk 20 years ago.. If possible it could continue the Sniper Elite trend of opening up and go fully open world, with a big desert littered with occupied villages and townships that you can attack from any angle.

Awful, murderous, rapey mutants will make quality x-ray fodder in lieu of Nazis, and it would be extra fun to line up a 3-in-1 headshot on a mutant with three heads or just getting to see all the weird insides of different kinds of mutants. Does he have a brain in his bum? It might not always be obvious the best way to kill one, especially the more powerful mutants!!

The other thing I was thinking about - if Rebellion havent had their arm bitten off yet behind the scenes by a big rich developer wanting to make the open world Mega City One Dredd game we all want, have they considered offering it to Microsoft? With Sony making Spiderman exclusive to PS4 and MS absolutely crying out for new exclusives of their own, that could be a great way way to get the funding a Dredd game deserves!

Games / Backwards Compatible Rebellion Games..
06 December, 2017, 01:19:57 PM
Do you think we'll ever see any Rebellion games go backwards compatible on Xbox? There's a bunch I'd want - Rogue Warrior, AVP, NeverDead, Sniper Elite V2, even ones like Sniper Elite 3 which we have superior Xbox One versions of, but I think it's cool to preserve these things!

A few of those might have licensing issues to work out, Dick Marcinko would have to sign off on Rogue Warrior, Whoever owns the AVP licence would have to ok AVP (I think Sega still owns the Aliens licence so I think that's helpful), as for NeverDead I'm not sure what the situation is there, Konami published but I think they were also somehow involved in development, so I don't know what they own. I assume the Sniper Elite games would have no problems?

Oh and that's just 360, lets not forget Sniper Elite 1, Dredd Vs. Death and Rogue Trooper on the original Xbox!  :o

General / Trying to find a strip..
29 May, 2017, 12:55:44 PM
Hi guys. I was reminiscing about a comic I read when I was kid and I'd love to read it again, I was wondering if you could help. I'll try to describe it.

I think it was a one-off set in the Judge Dredd universe, but I could be wrong. I seem to remember it looking like megacity one in my minds eye. Judge Dredd himself was hardly in it, if at all. It was about a restaurant serving up some mutagen or something  (unbeknownst to the diners) that turned all the patrons into body-horror nightmares. I remember it made me feel queasy but I loved it!

Creative Common / Looking to improve my drawing
16 September, 2013, 03:25:57 PM
There are a lot of fantastic artists on here, and whereas im fairly competent at pixel art where with the size and the digital nature of it, iterations can be fired out quick and fast (and therefore its easier to brute-force something to look correct), my actual drawing skills arent up to much.

I was just wondering if any of the talented 2000ad forum folks had any practical exercises that really helped them improve as an artist? what to draw? how often? or perhaps mindsets, approaches to drawing?

Its funny, i play guitar and if someone wanted to know how to get to an acceptable standard at that, i could confidently help, but i draw as well and have no idea how to efficiently improve!

Cheers fellas

Help! / Need some help with reference material..
04 September, 2013, 05:43:23 PM
Im thinking of making a Rogue Trooper videogame mockup for the art competition, but i dont have any reference material for what Nu-Earth really looks like! I remember lots of vague wasteland from stories in 2000ad but I would love to see some vistas in colour that show the landscape and terrain to try and nail it down. If anyone could help me find some such images id be very grateful!

General / Trying to remember..
07 July, 2013, 11:22:54 AM
When i was younger, im sure i read a full colour retelling/reworking of the story of rico returning from the penal colony.  art like this http://images.wikia.com/britishcomics/images/5/50/Rico_Dredd.jpg . It mightve been part of the classics series, which is where i read America for the first time too

Is there anywhere i can get hold of this rico remake? It was top and ace.

Welcome to the board / Good Morning!
26 June, 2013, 08:51:33 AM
Hi everyone, Ive been an intermittent lurker for a long time and ive finally signed up to join in. read my first Dredd Comic when i was 8 i think, it was the Judge Dredd Megazine with Heavy Metal Dredd in it as i remember! I was going on holiday with my family and my mum told me to get a magazine for the plane, well i got a megazine instead and thank god she didnt check inside! I think someone got their ghoulies chopped off. been a fan ever since, though my wallet hasnt always permitted my fix. Not that i get my kicks out of just ghoulies being chopped off, one of the things ive always loved about 2000ad is the variety. fascist antiheroes, swashbuckling rogues, mutant bounty hunters, mind-bending future shocks, moving stories like America, its got it all!

ill stop gushing now.

Ta!
