Hmm, it would've been nice to have been told in advance that some of my very old work was back in print. Still, ho-hum and new audiences etc I guess.

Events / Comic Signing In Derby 28/02/09
10 February, 2009, 09:34:58 PM
Not sure if anyone here'd be interested but...

No tricks! No Gimmicks! Derby comics shop Tokyo Otaku are delighted to host a real old fashioned book signing! On Saturday the 28th of February for one whole day shop manager Wil will be setting up a table for me in store to run all the way till closing time.

I'll be selling and signing the newly launched reprints of Fecal Depot 1 and 2 which both sold out last year along with various prints and original pieces. Not only that but there'll be free sketches with any purchase. If you want you can even bring your own work along to take a gander at or even trade!

What's more, being a signing event it's completely and utterly free to attend!

The venue address is:

Unit B7
The Market Hall,
Derby,
UK
DE12DB

For more updates closer to the day go to //http://www.aaronsmurfmurphy.deviantart.com, //http://www.tokyootaku.co.ukor ask Wil in store.

Cheers and lovely,

Events / Re: LEEDS THOUGHT BUBBLE COMIC FESTIVAL!!!

The Thought Bubble site doesn't seem to have the small press exhibitors listed yet which is a bit odd. Either way, I've got myself a table with comic book chum Chris Garside all lined up and the pair of us will be selling comics, posters and other assorted tat. Our websites are www.aaronsmurfmurphy.deviantart.con and www.kristofski.com respectively and we'll hopefuly be updating them both soon with updates as to what we'll be getting up to on the day.

Also, whilst it's mighty tempting to get a free OVS from PVS I'm reckoning it's far fairer to trade you one of my comics for one instead. Deal?

Announcements / Re: Welcome to the new forum!

Still getting used the changes myself. Admittedly the new board is more in line with most other boards these days in both appearence and interface. My only gripe is that some of the many avaliable options seem a bit unnecessary but that could just be something i'll adjust to.

Sure am taking it Satch! Have about 8 copies left but managed to find two copies my local comic shop hadn't sold so that puts me back up to 10. There'll also be stickers and posters to boot!

Just a quicky to say cheers and lovely to the various borders bumped into at the show (names in no order and may veer from real to boardname at random)...

RAC, Bou and Bolt - cheers for Zarjaz, odd talks and a costume confessional. And i'll hold Bolt to that offer of doing back up inks.

PVS and Ben Clark - the north easts finest were kind enough to give me all the Mike Neville I could handle. A mate back in Swindon hails from Middlesborough has since seen these and automatically recognised Mike Neville, proclaiming Ben as her hero. Cheers for taking a copy of Fecal Depot too!

House Of Usher - Good to see you and your new haircut between a chat and cheese toasty. Sorry about cracking up when you proclaimed you were the first ordained member of the Dirk Despair fanclub too, but you ARE well suited to it.

Al Ewing - Sorry for pressganging you into that photo session but it was a golden oppurtunity man. Nice to chat about Dead Signal too.

Mini-Bolt - Highlight of the weekend for me. Mini Bolt handed me a comic done for a-levels and the first strip was a redrawn version of a comic I did years ago! Brilliant!

Good weekend all in all.

Should be shipping in on a daily basis from my Swindon bedsit. As usual the plan'll be to speak to everyone I only get to see ocassionally and generally whore myself out. Need to get my suit sorted out.

Haven't worked out costs yet... I suspect if I only buy small press stuff and the like i'll get more value for money AND support small press though.

I'd say Patlabor as it needs a human pilot. Being an exoskeleton is it even technically a robot?

Me and some mates were watching the big dog clip again last night and were just baffled at how they could apply it to military use when it's so noisy...

Dunno if this has been mentioned anywhere else on the board or if boarders already know about it, but...

Based at Queen Mary's Uni in the Mile End area of London (nearest tube Stepney Green) the show this year will be held on the 22nd of March.
Tickets are usually £4 on the door and an anthology featuring many of the exhibitors work will be on sale for 50p.

Guests so far include Weebl & Bob, Roger Landridge, Tales From The Flat, Monkeys Might Puke etc...

*Whore mode on*

I'll also be there sharing a table with webcomic team Two Sides Wide, our respective websites are: www.aaronsmurfmurphy.deviantart.com and www.twosideswide.com. I hope that people can make it down to London and I look forward to meeting anyone who does pop by,

Not had this much fun watching telly in awhile. While it wasn't laugh out loud stuff I still wore a silly grin allthe way through. The Freebies look suitably silly as they run around the scenes screaming at each other and the voice of Jimmy is priceless.

And yeah, i'd love some of those set pieces and props in my house, they're lush.

Yeah, it's been awhile - sorry about that lads.

But seriously, it's been sunny all week here with the odd cloud.
