Howdo. This might be known to you all already but I've found a simple but fun interactive zombie game online. It's basically akin to the old adventure games of old 'Get Gold', 'Sing about Gold' and that sort of thing, but worth a look. So far I've managed to avoid zombies, lose my mobile, find a first aid kit, find a hiding place, and swap messages with someone else.
Anyway, come and have a look, nad if you join up I'll tell you where my safehouse is.
Link: Braaaaaains.
I've just joined. I'm now Officer Plisken.
This will so be e-mailed round my mates.
Well tell them to be kind to DavidXBrunt, officer.
All signed up.
Name is 'T Savini' : )
Been playing for a while, got two characters going WoDMaN and Wod01 - I'm pretty much a zombie on WoDMaN all the bloody time, and scampering around with Wod01 just trying to survive. Bloody zombies are getting stronger, and now werewolves and vampires too....
My first day went quite well I thought. Shot a zombie dead, Shot a player Zombie who was much stronger than me so legged it, Said hi to a fellow player and am now hiding out in a junkyard.
You have a gun? Blimey. I had a mobile but I lost it.
Somebody alreay has the name of the character from the zombie story I had in TEiN, Diana Spencer. So I went for the next logical choice: Sarah Ferguson.
See you on the streets!
let my cold dead zombie lips give you a big sloppy kiss Fergy...!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
PS - Bad Homer...where's the junkyard...my zombie would love to say hello...
LOL.There's 3 in North Blytheville and I'm asleep in one of them.
Come and have a go if you think your hungry enough!
I had a mobile but I lost it.
I think I've just found it on Hagger Way. ;)
I'm Jurgen Frott.
Jurgen Frott appears to have fallen asleep in the middle of the road. Methinks he may be munchies...
Can't do much today, got shot in the head last night, takes 15AP to stand up and that'll leave me with very little...my alive medic is hiding in a police station somewhere...
Just discovered you can only hit the site 160 times a day, which is a shame as I was playing multiple characters. D'oh. Still, I'll just have to concentrate on the first character and start again in the morning when I should have plenty of turns. If anyone wants to find me I'm in the warehouse to the west of Maul Police Station.
Anyone want to work out how to start a group? Necronauts, perhaps?
Been playin for about a year now.
I'm there..........but will probably be eaten soon
Sleeping in a police station now.
I'm there as Fegbarr.
This reminds me of the old play-by-mail RPGS that I always wanted to play but couldnt afford as a kid. Its a Crime if I remember right.
I'm just off to FP to pick up 2K and the Meg then I'm comin back to create a zombie. This could just be the game that gets me fired.
Startin a group sounds like a fun idea.
out of points in the Haste Museum.

Link: dotty zombie action.
bloody 'ell I fell asleep fighting a zombie earlier and am now holed up in a nightclub somewhere...
I'm Brian McClair currently asleep at Farrant Crescent Police Dept.
Anyone got any strategy for this?
hit things a lot and build up your stats...I went for improved fighting skills then, but I'm told it's good to get the 'running skill'...
I'm in guilford avenue firestation as a medic if you need healing.
I tried fire axing a zombie or two but didn't hit once. Bloody useless.
Maybe we should build up a 2000ad mob.
Where should we all meet?
My Z (Wodman) is in Roywood in a junkyard, and my medic (lame-o as he is) is in the Guilford Avenue fire station in Roftwood...there's a LOT of Z's outside and 50+ near eligius hospital nearby, so I don't hold out much hope of surviving the night...
I don't suppose Stiffs can side with the still living?
I a Zombie called 'RygorMortys' standing next to the internal barricade in side one of the railway stations next to the junk yard. There are tow other zombies with me. I was grunting to both of them when I ran out of points.
So far I have tried beating down the Barriade around a building nearby and have managed to knock some of it down.
I was wondering where I could get some food.
Is thre like Graveyard around here some where.
This is bloody stupid. I have three characters give it the full whack, and I've only managed to hit something twice.
What a waste of time.
I know what you mean.
I shot at one of them 6 times, hit it once, and I've no bullets left.
Now I'm sleeping in a car park like a common tramp.
If you use more than one character in the same location then the game makes them all shit.
Tells you that in the FAQ.
I've only got one character.
I'm going to have fun looking at this when I get home. Work blocks it as a game, rather than allowing it as the vital survival skills exercise it is.
So, how many points should have in another six hours?
I shot one dead on my first go.
Now I'm stuck out in the open with no bullets and have to wait half an hour so I can hide.
If you use more than one character in the same location then the game makes them all shit.
I know - which is why they are in different locations. Bloody stupid game.
I WANT TO KILL ZOMBIES!
I may even have to turn to the vampires on DvsD!
If you're going to be like that, why not go to the zombies on DvsD?
6 hours is not going to give you much XP or whatever it is called in game..(HP?)..doesn't it start with 10% hit rate for a punch, etc. and 5% for a pistol...slowly build these up by getting to 100 points and buying a skill...it's slow work though...how do these people reach level 13, etc....1?!?!!?
Fallen asleep outside a nightclub, whilst rapidly losing HP to infection. I'll be dead by dawn I imagine.
"how do these people reach level 13, etc....1?!?!!?"
On the stats screen you can see only one person has achieved level 39!!!
But don't you accumulate points by... hitting people!
I'm sure it's great once you get going, but they should give first timers a bit of extra 'umph for the first day I reckon.
..coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!...
bah, I leave the game overnight and when I check now I'm dead and can only say things like 'gah'.
16 points, after eight hours.
NO one to talk to.
If anyone is playing the snow zombies game the level 2 password is
uEwmQ279 23
in the space are 4 small squares making a bigger square but I don't think you type that in.
Bloody hard - not one citizen saved.
As for the zombie world sim I got bored as everything was 'nothing found' and 'shot/punch missed' no patience I know but seems very dull.
There also Vampire Game, simialr to the Zombie one.

We were stuck in a telephone box earlier and fraternity pal nearly got kyboshed.
We've been hiding out for 7 hours now.
Getting cold.
About to start a fire.
Do any any pother similar games.
I think a mage one would be cool.
I just got killed, but I will be able to stand up in within the next five hours.
Fegbarr, I'm in the same hideout as you. I'm Mr Flames.

Typical...
Hey I'm all for a 2000AD hunting possee... I'm asleep in a firestation in Shacklesville. Anyone close?
Names Ree Zoot by the way...
Someone revived my blooming zombie...when I get some AP I'll stand up and find shelter...when I build up AP that is!
Been playing this for months... holding up near Caiger Mall at the moment.
'Odders'
ThrillSeekyr - don't stand up until you have enough AP to run and hide somewhere...
Oh bloody hell!
I come back after work and I'm a christing zombie!
I quite like being a zombie, but you get paranoid about being 'lifed'...still...that's death for you!
Just realised, cause I'm a bit dim, that if you search in hospitals you tend to find med kits, fire stations might bag you an axe, not managed to loot any malls yet, or find replacement ammo for my pistol...
Hope PVS and JEB don't mind but I've assumed the identity of a Solar Wind creation of theirs..
Street cop Jim Callous is searching for his trusty patrol dog Ripper on the mean streets of Malton.Might as well be blind- shot at a zombie four times, hit it once! "Bazooka" and "barn door" spring to mind.
Asleep in a barricaded hospital at time of writing this.
Hospitals seem like good places to sleep - i'm in one withg about 15 people at the moment, after curing myself of zombie bites.
oh, and zombie Nestel is at St Angars hospital. Come and get me suckers!
"I come back after work and I'm a christing zombie!"
Yeah, I hear that from a lot of people...
;)
JoeXDredd is hiding in a police station, YedXKord in a museum, DavidXBrunt in a church. Not doing awfully well. Worth the ?2.92 for character immunity to get round the ISP thingy.
I'm asleep.
In the street.
Surrounded by zombies.
I have to confess, it doesn't look good...
Let us know where you are so we can ...um... come and help you!
The wiki seems to have a maps section which might be useful for co-ordinating actions.
Heres a map of the city...
I suggest we pick a suburb and converge on it...
Link: http://map.aypok.co.uk/index.php
Peppardville looks interetsing. unless anyone watc to converge anywhere else i'm going to hike my livey over to there.
Link: http://map.aypok.co.uk/index.php?suburb=48
Let's pick a location and start making our way there...
Peppardville isn't too far from my current location - Houldenbank.
Officer Pat Bateman reporting for duty...
On my way
PEPPARDVILLE it is then...see you there in a week or so!!!!!
Slippery James is out of Action points in Heytown
Yer Slips
Peppardville is about 2 blocks south east for me. See ya all there.
Mr Flames
Brian McClair is currently asleep in St Wolfeius's Church in Huntley Heights. I'll get there eventually.
Anyone got a safe haven to nominate in Peppardville?
It seems the south is not very safe as a bunch of zombies called the The Ridleybank Resistance Front is attacking it at the moment.
"Brian McClair is currently asleep in St Wolfeius's Church in Huntley Heights. I'll get there eventually. "
I'm 4 moves away in The Scaife Building.
My doctor's currently holed up in Wallis Square Police Dept. Name o' Doc Thursday. I've got about 30 AP left, so if you're nearby and need patching up give me a shout and I'll try to get to you.
My poor wee scout is lurching around Old Arkham after being munched. I ask you, what is the world coming to when you can't even stop for a nap in the street in a zombie-infested city without somebody trying to eat your head?
Funt Solo is about ten suburbs away from Pepardville - holed up in a strongly barricaded Police station with a large group of survivors.
I wonder if anyone's called themselves "The Omega Man" yet.
Abou the Zobie that gave a deaht blow, it ended up hitting about four or five times in one go.
It safe for Zombie stay dead for a week.
Then Stand up.......
What could happen to me in the mean time?
Where can a zombie hide...... reallly?
In a Graveyard.
I've not quite got enough action points at the moment. Give me a couple of hours and I could join up with Mr Flames!
T Savini is on his way, just a couple of suburbs away so will probably arrive tomorrow.
I've not quite got enough action points at the moment. Give me a couple of hours and I could join up with Mr Flames!
Fearless fireman Mister Nightjar is seven locations away with a whole bunch of survivors in the Solomon Lane Police Station...
Anyone know how to form a group?
Hmmm. I'm not very good at this. All of my characters so far have been munched. So far, Urban Dead has claimed the lives of Jurgen Frott, Fester Minge and Beryl Reid.
I called one of my zombie characters muuuwwaargh - and now I can't remember how I spelt it so I can't log in.
Okay - I'm in Scaife, but asleep. Should we make this our base insteda ;>
I'm in. Doctor Feelygood, currently asleep in the museum in Gulsenside. En route to Peppardville. I found a flare gun on the way - is roast zombie punk on the menu?
Well I just have to smack 1 more zombie and I can level up. Ach well I'll have to wait till tomorrow now.
Nighty night!
Slippery James is in St Paschal's Hospital in Peppardville. I may yet live loads of peeps in here.
Slips
I got up and managed to knock down the barricade at Martin Genaral Hospital Randalbank.
I'm about to enter PeppardVille.
free running is a useful skill...my mate was right!! Plus - I now have beer!!!
So close yet so far away...where's a safe place to meet up in Peppardville then?
Where are you coming in from? Wallis Square Police Dept. is (I think) toward the North East end of the suburb. It's safely barricaded, quite a few survivors in there.
By the way, does anyone want a shotgun? Found one but I've got no combat skills, so it's pretty much useless to me.
Fell asleep on the way to Peppardville. Got eaten.
Braiiiiiiiins...
Same in St Paschals hospital, loads of surivors and a couple of over level 30 characters. WTF?
yer Slips
Where does a Zombie that can't open doors go for safety.
Whereabouts is St Paschal's? Had a look around for it earlier and couldn't see it.
Incidentally, as of lunchtimeish there were substantial numbers of zombies around the middle of the 'burb.
I'm no where near Peppardville. I Think in the suburb below RandalBank.
Diagonally to the North West, 2 or 3 moives away from the Police station. I have no moves left tho'
Slips
There will probably be quite a few zombies in that suburb as Fort Creedy is in the bottom right corner of it.
I'm starting to get pished off with this.
Emptying an enitre gun and hitting a zombie only once! Then coming back to your character and finding you've been infected by a friggin zombie that wasn't in the secure location you were sleeping in when you left.
Guns appear to be entirely useless to starting charcaters (I fired off the clip I started with and got nothing)... As does attacking a zombie in any way, really. It might be better to concentrate on searching for equipment and gaining XP in other ways at first (clearing bodies, healing people).
Stocking up on medipacks (search hospitals) and a fireaxe (search firestation) seems like a good idea....
Thanks, Art. Good advice there, I shall act upon it if I live long enough.
You can also gain XP by reading books found in libraries but it's a slow process.
I think going a fireman is a good start. The tactic I've been using is first find a secure hideout. Then nip out, find a nearby lone zombie and try and whack him about 30 times, then back to the hideout, if you kill one you get about 15/20 exp. In 2 days I now have 97 exp.
Oh and if you click on your name you can give your character a description, but even better you can enter which group you are affiliated with. So I imagine if we all put the same name that makes us a group. But best to see how many actually make it to the meeting point eh ;-D
Well count me in to the group even though I might not be there for a day or two. Necronauts or Zombie Street Team?
Well count me in to the group even though I might not be there for a day or two. Necronauts or Zombie Street Team?
Errrr, what about Necronauts for the livies and Zombie Street Team for the deadies...?
SECONDED!
Oh, and someone just offed Zombie Scott Nestel...
DavidXBrunt appears to be in dire straits, which is a pisser as I've paid up for the ISP immunity.
May take me a while I'm all the way down in Wyke Hills
I'm in Kinch Heights, asleep, and unlikely to survive the night. Come kill me! (Vizjim)
Necronauts! Shite. I've just changed mine to Rowdy Yates Block. Which one are we using?
Parslow Cinema in Randallbank.

DavidXBrunt appears to be in dire straits, which is a pisser as I've paid up for the ISP immunity.
You seem to be able to get revived - my zombiefied guy is currently waiting at the Whitlock Memorial in Roywood...
Here's hoping.
DaviXBrunt - 4/4/06 - 6/4/06

Right - I'm heading towards th Wallis Square Police Dept.
Wish me luck.
Im in there now and the only name I recognise is Brian McLair :)
yer Slips
Gah, computer keeps freezing up. I'm in there as Doc Thursday, should be with you in a moment. Anyone need patching up? (He asks hopefully, desperate for a bit of XP)
Hmmm, just spent a days worth of APs waving a fireaxe in the direction of a zombie and not hitting once before running away to hide in a junkyard, so it could be quite some time before I even get to level two...
Physician, HEAL ME! Playing as Johnny Eyebrows, just made it into the police station.
54 Jones is wandering around somewhere too...
Healed by the man who looks like Julian Sands- hurrah!
No worries. Are you still injured? I can't tell, haven't got that Diagnostics skill yet.
I keep findoing stuff in the Police station. Used about 10 points searching. But got some pistol clips, some shotgun shells and a fuel can
Yer Slips
Slippery James and Johnny need to show their allegiance to Necronautism by adapting their profiles.
Two questions
1) Who are we still waiting for?
2) What do we do next?
Slips - I have a shotgun if you want it
Police Stations are good to search - keep looking until you find a flak jacket.
I spent a whole day searching Solomon Street and found loads of pistols clips.
Don't actually have a pistol, but never mind...
Doctor Feelygood is now affiliated with the Necronauts (bute where's my cricket bat?). I'm presently in north west Pegton (Hamlen Auto Repair) on my way to Peppardville. Once I've rested up a bit, where should I head for?
I am alive and well, thanks. Will fix my profile as soon as I figure out how...
North east Peppardville - Wallis Square Police Dept.
Just click on your character's name Jeb.
I was waiting to accumulate more action points, before going outside to kick Zombie butt.
Sure Andy Ill have the shotgun, I am a copper!
Yer Slips
This game sounds ace, I'd love to join in but my work 'net access won't let me on the site.
Still reading this thread is almost as much fun...
I'll have to wait around for 6 hours or so until I have enough boost juice, so if you leave Wallis Square PD in the meantime, let me know where you head for!
according to the FAQ u cant swap items or hand them over to other players. To stop abuses....
Yer Slips
I too have a superfluous shotgun and one shell, free to a good home. How d'you trade items between characters, do you just drop things?
A more certain way of getting XP is clearing buildings of corpses, or reading.
To prevent multi character abuse you can't actually swap things. I'm going to head over to Peppardsville over the weekend.
TedXKord.
Dropped my shotgun if you want to do a search
I just found a Flak Jacket in a cop shop. I should make it to Peppardsville by Monday.
Now signed in as "Dreddsapussy", but for some reason I fall asleep very quickly.
No Shotgun. Loads of shells and a flare gun. Im now down to 10 points remaining!
Slips
Balls. Perhaps I should have kept it after all.
Probably down to this character abuse thingy.
Duds if you still have some active characters (alive or dead) near to your new character that might affect the gameplay, apparently.
Well, I'mm off for a week or so to Cyprus so maybe I'll have to start again when I get back. See you all have fun!
OK, shall we all converge on Wallis Square PD and establish that as Necronaut HQ?
There are regularly big battles for control of the Armoury in Fort Creedy, so there should be plenty of Zombie action in that suburb...
Good plan, it seems safe enough. With a fair bit of equipment floating around.
So whats the plan after that
Yer Slips
Sounds good to me. Could you do me a favour and make a note of any hospitals you pass on the way? The less time I have to spend looking around, the more time I can spend searching for first aid kits, and the more I can heal the rest of the Necronaut block.
Anyone who doesn't already know - there's a full Peppardville (http://map.aypok.co.uk/index.php?suburb=48%22%20target=%22_blank).
Ah, aces. Cheers Funt.
Looks like I'll be heading to St Paschal's to scavenge around, once I've got a few more AP to burn.
Some goit called "Turkey Jerky" killed me after calling me a "fag".
I'm alive again now, so don't worry about me - but if any one meets this Turkey Jerky, give him a punch (just the one, don't kill him) & tell him not to be a bigot homophobe in future.
So we've got a medic, a couple of firemen and a doctor. Who else in that profession role call?
If anyone else wants to join in, one of these scientist types might be useful... I think they are the ones that can unzombify people.
Im a copper! Your nicked Son!
Slips
That's what I meant when I said medic/doctor twice. D'oh.
Anyone keen enough to start up a page on this wiki thing?
"So we've got a medic, a couple of firemen and a doctor. Who else in that profession role call? "
Hmm seems to me you're missing a builder, motorcycle cop, cowboy and the red indian, still a way to go...
:-)
Great, an entire police station wiped out over night and me in it....
Just been near some monument or other and there are 49 Zombies milling around it what's all that about then?
I'm stuck in a police station, which is "quite strongly" barricaded - but there's a zombie in here with us.
There's an approximate 1 in 22 chance that when it gets hungry it'll go for me.
Still, it's better than this morning: I woke up next to a dead body, with the doors wide open and a zombie running amok.
Is ita revive point?
Just been near some monument or other and there are 49 Zombies milling around it what's all that about then?
They're either massing to attack something or it's a Revival Point and they're waiting for a scientist to turn up and revive them.
It usually says on the grafitti.
"So whats the plan after that "
To crush our enemies, to see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentations of their zombie women.
***ahem***
Bah. Zombie Scott Nestel got revived! Thats so wrong.
BritCit Judge Dane, is currently here: Halse Crescent Police Dept, Darvall Heights.
And I'm making my way to Peppardville over the weekend.
But where are we meeting there?
mind you, with a user name like mine, I'm a walking target!
Bah. Zombie Scott Nestel got revived! Thats so wrong.
Find a tall building and make him jump out of the window.
Go on - you know you want too...
"an entire police station wiped out over night and me in it...."
Hmm. That doesn't bode well. I'll be offline for the weekend and completely at the mercy of any undead that break in.
"To crush our enemies, to see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentations of their zombie women."
Heh. That'll do me for a motto. How do you tell when a zombie's lamenting, anyway? Do its empty rotting eye sockets well up?
I'm confused. I just logged onto this expecting some fabulous experience... Instead I got something massively naff that was nonetheless strangely addictive.
Even so... every time I get into somewhere and there are people there, nothing happens. Should they be talking to me? Even when I give 'em a whack, they just stand there. Presumably they're asleep?
And what about zombies...? I stand in the same space as a zombie and it just... stands right back. It's hardly life-and-death undead combat...
Believe it or not, it does get better.
I'm confused. I just logged onto this expecting some fabulous experience... Instead I got something massively naff that was nonetheless strangely addictive.
Strange isn't it? It's like watching Green Wing.
Si, you need to think beyond your regimented world, where evrything is laid out in endless nine panel pages.
Tee-hee, asking for it...
Well, I'm dead. Doesn't seem to have slowed me down too badly, though.
Plan B:
1. Knock shit out of zombies until I've built up some XP.
2. Find a scientist.
3. Get revived.
4. Buy skills, become Bruce Campbell.
Must set that to tape tonight...cheers!
So we've got a medic, a couple of firemen and a doctor. Who else in that profession role call?
Another cop on the way, Forgot my motorbike though :(
Thought I'd read the 'how to' guide on wiki...wish I hadn't, I was doing OK till then...
So we've got a medic, a couple of firemen and a doctor.
This is starting to sound like a recruitment drive for the Village People. ;)
"This is starting to sound like a recruitment drive for the Village People. ;)"
That aside, this sounds great. I have too much to do, and if I start this I'd never stop. So I'll just have to dream of killing zombies, sob!
Paul, you can only play a limited number of (frustrating) moves a day...trust me, you have time...
I shouldn't worry PVS - the website only allows you to do so much in a day anyway. Almost as little 10 mins a day.
Come and join the mob.
I suspect these are all lies intended to draw me in, and that this stuff is like crack cocaine.
Anyway, if I get enough done today I'll have a go. Cheers.
Unless like me you have a habit of using up all their action points and leaving your character in a precarious situation, then checking back every half hour to see if you've gained enough AP to get them out of it (or if they've been killed).
On the way to Peppardville *avoid* Stanbury Village.. it's swarming with zombies.
Zombie Pat Bateman now wandering around a junk yard in Peppardville, Mister Rhames hiding out in one of the police stations - can't remember which - after finding loads of loot.
Zombies seem to get a lot more EP, as they are better fighters when chomping.
Plan B seems to be working.
At this rate, I'll have enough XP to resurrect as a useful living type person bt the end of next week.
I'm doing quite well in the game, too...
I'm in a station a couple of suburbs from Peppardsville. There's a phone mast on the top but only one other person on site so I may not survive the night. If I don't make it you'll know I got eaten.
Paul, as was said there are strict limits on how many times you can hit the site, and how much your character can do. Even with the maximum number of characters (about three) you'd be hard pressed to play for more than half an hour a day. I think that's part of the attraction.
I'm a Door To Door salesman that sells Exclopedia Britanicas and I used to get around on PennyFarling.
Bolt01 is in the HaverCroft fire Station. No idea where I am as yet, but it is interesting playing.
Bolt-01: Firefighter
Right: After that I am asleep in a building with some other folks.
Hopefully I'll not be dead when I wake up!
I've checked the big map and I appear to be about four suburbs away from Peppardville.
Bolt-01
Zombie Noisybast is in Havercroft (Beaver Towers), munching on other zombies for XP. I can't promise not to eat your brain, but do give me a wave...
Are gps units any good,as I just found one?
I'm a scientist and I'm currently barricaded in a Necrotek building with to other players.
I go by the name Resurrection Clam.
Last time I checked him (yesterday), Charles Fort was safe in a hospital, only succrying out to use up all his points in attacking a lone zombie with an axe.
When he's got enough points, he'll feel brave enough to venture further.
great blast from the past.
reminds me of the adventures that got me into gaming all those years back.
Thanks DXB.
i'm playing as maxalittlun.
currently in mornington megaplex.
so used to complex games that such simplicity is confusing me.
Even my zombie character is too rubbish to hit other zombies who can't fight back.
Only half a dozen steps away from the police station in the top right hand corner of Peppardsville is a mall. If we're all gathered there by the start of next week we could attack the mall en mass.
Anybody up for some retail therapy?
think Im going to come and join you all in peppardsville if thats alright, but I'm going to save up for free running first.
Ive got wine but the rules dont allow sharing!
sounds a great idea.
would i have time to get there by then?
Where aer you? There's a link to the map on...ooh page 6 I think...and we could always delay and use the time to build up XP in the meantime.
'I'm Coming to get you Barbara!'
(At least I will be next weekend when I can get to t'library again.)
Loosely related: check out this funky cake:
Link: Mmm... Thorax.
Eh? Dunno what happened there...
Holy crap...
I'm dead. Shall I stop as a zombie for a while?
Bolt-01
I would.
JoeXDredd is the law and he's safely inside the Wallis Square Police Station. Glad to see others have made it.
If we go South one square into the carpark and turn East for 6 squares we'd be in the Giddings Hall. 7 steps there, 7 back, call it 20 for safety. That gives us 30 points to loot the mall and attack Zombies whilst we're there. Anyone want to pick a time and date?
I am in Mornington, at the Megaplex. anywhere near?
You need to head right through 7 suburbs and then up one or two. If you look at the map as you travel you can find Police stations and hospitals to stay in. I reckon you're at least three or four days travel away, and that assumes you get lucky and find a safe resting place straight away each time.
Link: Mappage
Ive made it to the Police Station. anyone need a heal? names mondoc
oh by crikey i think i am in trouble m'lud. is there a map did you say?
plop it. i'm infected.
Get to the populated area and hang out, someone will cure you. Alternatively go to a hospital and search for medpacks.
If you can make it two suburbs east of Roachtown to the Dymont Road Fire Station I can cure you.
Any of our lot up for reviving me if I make my way to Peppardville?
Bolt-01, shufflin' on...
Bolt- there looks to be a big and proper organized-type revive point in the suburb to the South of Peppardville, if that helps any.
Wallis Square PD in Peppardville is too heavily barricaded to get in.
Jack Point managed to get into Marshment PD (3 blocks away) instead, which is VS barricaded - with tons of players inside.
Anyone feels like healing me, that'd be great - I took a bit of a battering getting here.
Cheers funt, I was heading back there and would have been stuffed. I'll head down to that one instead and heal you when I've got the AP's to do so.
Thanks Feqbarr. I'll see what I can do when I get there.
Bolt-01
Jack Point is all healed now and sleeping it off.
The wiki has some funny stuff on it - zombie spy witch hunts and suburb defence policies - people are really into this game.
You tell us now. Wasted a first aid kit on you. What was the point?
My lamest guy has made it to peppar...going to spend the night in the maine building.
I'm one suburb north but a worthless zombie husk with bugger all stuff. Some fucker shot me through the head and it costs 15 AP just to stand up again. Slow progress!
I've only got 28 hit points left- how do I build them up again? Can somebody heal me?
Minty Nuggets hasn't got any medkits, I'm afraid, but you can use his phone to try and order a kebab, if you think it'll help. ;)
You lot better start quaking in fear as Inspector Poontang hits the streets..He shoots first and don't bother with the questions later speil..
54J - HP will get healed by someone healing to boost their XP, or go searching in a hospital for a med-kit.
Zombie Pat Bateman is at the Way Monument waiting to be revived... in a queue of 274.
Zombie Pat Bateman should have brought something to read...
Comes right after the Jack, DXB.

Med Advice:
Find a secure building with loads of other survivors and say "I'm bleedin' here!" (or whatever works for you) and the chances are good that a samaritan will have bandaged you up by the time you've come around after downing the wine you salvaged from the local church.
That's worked better for me than wandering around an abandoned hospital looking for leftovers with only the soulless moaning of the shambling dead for company.
Pat Bateman - some of the organised groups within the city have apparently set up a way of of making a
revivification request.
Off the record, on the QT and very hush-hush:
The
urban dead wiki pretty much has it covered - all the dirt on what does what and where to find it.
thanks for the help guys and thanks DXB for the offer of a cure.
sadly i had a busy day and forgot about this.
came back to find i am dead.
doh.
i am in mockridge now.
poop.. am out of points today.
in stanbury village now.
someones upped the barricades at Wallis Square Police Departments. looks like Im going to be finding out how the other half live soon enough.
3 squares south and two west (check the map though) there's another police station you can get into . You'd need 6 AP's I suppose.
Okay, I joined, it's fun, and simple, though I have no XP points. I had my life saved by a passing hero who killed a zombie, healed me then headed out into the night. Also a priest gave me healing as well. I'm now asleep in a house full of strangers.
cheers DXB, I'll head up there when Ive recovered enough AP's at the pub.
Started playing this on Saturday night. woke up Sunday monday to discover my private was dead and that the suburb of Rolt heights has no revive points. I am now Aaron "Smurf" Murphy: rebel with out a pulse.
'Raaay...
On the other hand I have a plot to gather XP's by smacking up the living, joining a revive queue, then using said experience to become an ace shot and shoot the undead as a revived troop.
Finn Sinn
Ah, made it through the weekend. Nice. Does anyone in the Wallis police dept. need fixing?
...hmm, that's a point: if I pop out to scavenge more first aid kits I won't be able to get back in. Have we established a backup base yet?
Thursday, there are a bunch of Necronauts in another police station nearby (Marshment PD). Entry is okay so you should be able to meet us there.
Can we have a list of who's who?
ming = Doctor Feelygood (Military medic)
I'm Jack Point - simp with a gun.
Thursday, there are a bunch of Necronauts in another police station nearby (Marshment PD). Entry is okay so you should be able to meet us there.
Plus, it's only four moves away from the Armoury (three diagonal moves SE, one South), which is always full of zombies, so you can get there, bash some heads, then back again with a day's worth of AP.
I'm Mister Nightjar, a super intelligent axe weilding monkey in a fireman's helmet.
In Marshment PD now. Wasted an entire day's APs trying to find a hospital that wasn't too heavily barricaded to enter: St Benedict's is open for now, but that's about it (six blocks south and one east from Marshment, btw).
Anyone needs fixing, give me a shout on here: I don't have enough AP to ask in-game.
Any room for more in the Necronauts and you guys all planning on staying in Peppardville? I'm over in Dakerstown (its in the top left corner)and its pretty clear of people with only small pockets of zombie resistance. Tons of equipment, So far I've managed to grab a flack jacket, shotgun (with shells) and pistol. I've already bagged a couple of zombies, and there are some pretty good safe places here. I don't mind heading out to meet you all, but Peppardville seems a little exposed, maybe think about clearing this spot and calling it our own... whats the plan? I'm Boaba now and military...
Thursday! Helllppp meeee! I am a zombie named WAGG and am in the Marshment Polce Dept. Help would be appreciated!
Sorry Buttonman, don't think there's anything I can do if you're already zombiefied. If you can find a revive point I'll keep a couple of first aid kits aside to patch you up once you've got a pulse again.
Unbelievable! In the minute and a half it took me to get from one police station to the other, I'm fekkin dead again! I'm now standing outside Marshment Police Dept, hoping that somebody can sort me out.
Bah!
Do we have a handy Necrotech employee on the team to revive people? If not, I'll pick up that skill when I eventually have the XP. But that might be a while.
"Go find Thursday" I thought. "He'll be able to boost my HP, no bother."
Curses!
Oh blooy hell! I'll shamble off and get revived - would those in the know suggest I head straight to the nearest revive point (where that then?) or should I attack people/zombies on the way to up the points tally?
Thanks for the kind offer BTW.
one of my characters has been killed twice, both times I left him stood out in the street and someone revived me. those scientists get a good rate reviving.
I coughed up 10 dollars for the game creator. its paid by paypal so I reckon its safe enough.
might be worth working out what time america sleeps if we want minimal resistance from the undead when attacking.
"I'm a doctor, Jim, not a miracle worker!"
Ahem. Sorry. Anyway, I think the Maine Building (one North, three East from Marshment PD) is a Necrotech lab, so there should be some scientists around there to revive you. Apparently churches and graveyards are usually considered revive points by default, but there aren't any nearby... there's a monument two blocks West of the PD, though, that might be worth checking.
(And yes, I have spent substantially more time on this than on any actual work this morning :D )
Marshment PD ain't safe anymore - we've got a zombie infestation.
Wait, have us borders actually formed a group yet or we just helping each other out as we pass by?
Finn Sinn
Ah, pants. Are we fighting or running? Not that I've got the AP to do much of either...
I've checked on Wiki and it says Cop shops and hospitals are targets for the zombies so maybe not a great idea to stay in one? It'll be a while before I make it over as I'm just building up XP at the moment.
Anyone with barricade skills should reinforce the barricade back up to Very Strong.
Anyone with a weapon should kill the zombies. I shot one of 'em a couple of times, but it's still lurching.
Then I fell asleep - which isn't very helpful at this point. I had a scout around for another safe house, but all I came up with was an empty PD even closer to the Armoury.
Me and some guy called Kippax has killed four out of five of the zombies. I've just been able to upgrade but don't know what to buy.
I'm currently asleep in the Maine building: well defended, lots of people there and it's a Necrotech lab, so even if you get munched somebody should be able to revive you. One move NE, one E from Marshment.
Im dead. Bugger killed me. Fck!
Off to a revive point!
Slips
Bad Andy:
Construction is a very useful skill, because it allows you to build/repair barricades.
Free Running allows you to enter Heavy Barricade buildings via neighbouring buildings (you get to cross from building to building without touching the street) - so it's a great one for staying safe.
---
I've moved into the Maine Building - Marshment PD is a zombie target today - there were still 3 in there when I left - and no barricade - just closed doors.
Anyone in Eastonwood? I'm in the Patriarch General Hospital. I'm a zombie. The people there keep hitting me instead of reviving me.
Anyone nearby got a spare syringe?
I just passed through The Nunn Building in Pimbank and its a lab if thats any help to anyone. Its just west of Peppardsville.
I thought about getting free running and legging it, but decided to get construction and have started to barricade.
Unfortunately I'm infected, so if anyone who hasn't legged it like a girly can fix me up I'd be grateful.
Fucking sick of this game. Have had four characters and they've all been zombified (well Brian McClair is infected - got 7 HP left and is currently standing OUTSIDE Marshment PD because its safer than being inside).
The other three have been zombified overnight. Stupid, stupid game.
Can you get to the Maine building? I don't have enough AP to come out, fix you, and get myself back to safety.
I'm in Maine building...
I'm getting pissed off now. Every time I try to whack a zombie - be it with fist or crowbar - it tells me I've bloody missed. What the ballacks?
I'vew legged it to a church East of the Marchment. On the plus side it's secure adn there are other people in it. On the negative side there;'s a graveyard with 20 plus Zombies in it.
I also have a second character far off in the south who is building up points quickly with an axe. If you improve your axe attack with your first 100 points you can gain XP much quicker after that and then buy others. When I've got my axe skills, Free running and construction skills I'll be off on an equipment search.
I'm just south at Scorse Cinema. I'll be there soon, but condition is diminishing badly...
The graveyard is a revive point isn't it? No wonder there are zombies there.
Well my first (and somewhat neglected) character T. Savini has just crashed down exhausted in the Maine building. Could do with a patching up if anyone can help.
There ye go.
Cheers
Still a zombie, but I'm now languishing in Clements square (!).
Started chomping on other Zombies to get some XP before revival.
Bolt-01
BOLLOCKS! A zombie got me one stop from home.
Better find a revive spot.
Healing is a good way of gaining XP once you have diagnosis skill, 5 XP for every heal...easy money once you have a few med packs at the expense of 1 AP. Nice when you get chance to use it.
Also, if you have a med-kit than try and heall people on the street, there's a good chance you'll catch them under full health.
Dang, over the ISP limit...
Is there anyone still in Marchwood, and is Mister Nightjar still standing?
Maybe we should have chosen a less conspicious location for Necronaut HQ - Police Stations and Hospitals are easy targets for mass zombie attacks.
What about comandeering the Gibbons Building...?
I'm getting pissed off now. Every time I try to whack a zombie - be it with fist or crowbar - it tells me I've bloody missed. What the ballacks?
Starting characters only have a 10% chance of whacking stuff (apart from firemen, who have a 25% chance, and that's only with an axe).
What did you start out as?
"What about comandeering the Gibbons Building...?"
Hmm... close to two police depts, a fire station and a hospital. Not bad, if you don't mind being that close to the fort.
How about the junkyard immediately south of the Gibbons block? According to the Wiki they can be barricaded and they're often overlooked as targets.
What did you start out as?
Just a twinkle in his dad's eye??
A junkyard's not a bad idea actually. The only thing is you can't seem to completely block it all off.
Here's my suggestion. We go to the Junkyard at 80,43. This is just across the border in Pitneybank, two east and one south from Maine, and set up camp there.
We're a couple of moves from police/fire/mall/revive point (cemetery) only the hospital at seven moves is a bit distant. But the armoury at the fort is close.
Everyone tries to obtain the 'free running' trait through building up XP - that way we can also lay claim to the Davenport Cinema next to it and, maybe eventually, St Lucy's Church. If we completely barricade up the two buildings that are attached and use the junkyard as an entrance then we could be a little safer.
After that we can work on what we should be about. Any takers?
My major complaint about the game would be that Free Running isn;t really an option, it's an *essential* skill. In many parts of the city if you do not have free running you will simply die. As a result theres probably an overabundance of scouts.
I'd be up for that - trouble is, my character's shit at the moment - just a shooty skill. I seem to spend most of my time hunting for ammo, and the rest of the time looking for a safe house.
Do we have anyone that can barricade?
Not me, I'm dead.
Once I'm alive again, I can.
The guide advises people without very much XP to gain it my using healing people (much needed at the moment).
Apparently first aid kits can also be found in churches, so claiming St Lucy's might be a pretty good alternative to risking a trip to the hospital.
Dobey Kweeg is two suburbs north of Peppardville - just waiting for my APs to revive and i'll head on down.
Dave6795 is a newbie and I've been landed in Peppardville. Where are we all?
Bolt-01
Maine building
On My way, just took out a zombie!
Bolt-01
I'll be able to barricade soon...but that character is miles away!!!!!
Which way from the Howdell monument?
Bolt-01
Watch yourself: some d-splash has heavily barricaded the Maine building - no way in unless you're a free runner or you're handy with a crowbar.
I tried to do a Bill Savage with my shotgun, but it didn't damage the barricade enough.
Cheers Funt. I've finally crashed in A warehouse. Bet I don't wake up.
Bolt-01
Are we doing any organized zombie ravening as well as the trying desperately to survive, or is that too much effort?
"You bit the barricade"
LOL didn't realise you could bite inanimate objects..
Anyway Jim Callous finally made it to the Dalley Library next to Maine Building- but as a zombie..
Just for the record Fort Creedy's Armoury is packed to the rafters with undead- unless yer Bruce Campbell I wouldn't go in there on your own.
Swaying mindlessly Jim 8[
Just to add to that I'm carrying;
An empty pistol
(wearing?) a flak jacket
Two pair of wirecutters
A flare gun
A fire axe
A fuel can (for generators I assume)
And *four* med kits
And as a zombie all I can do is 'drop' them.
Meh.
Might be a bit out the way but any zombies looking for a revive point could join me in Rhodenbank at the Upshall Monument [82, 6]. Currently only 11 zombies (including myself) are in the queue.
Finn Sinn
You can bite barricades, but it won't actually damage them.
i'm not sure pistol attacks do anything either.
I think I bit it by accident ;) The default attack was set to 'barricades'.
Being undead isn't all bad- I've gained XPs biting other zombies (like they care) and don't have to worry too much about finding a safe house at the end of my round of APs.
Shambolic bliss 8]
cmon bart, act in character- bite people until you get revived against your will!
mondoc just died in the pub. not sure if it was zombies or booze that did it.
I'm at Walrond Square with Johnny Eyebrows awaiting a revive. But there's 43 of us here! Might find an alternative.
Huh. 25% hit chance my arse. Thirty attacks, four sodding hits. I can only assume the stark existential horror of living in a post-apocalyptic zombie-infested city has induced some kind of incapacitating psychological trauma in my fireman. Bah.
... and my scout's dead again. Wonder if you can get metaphysical frequent flyer miles from all these trips to and from the afterlife?
Bart - as a zombie, you do keep wearing the flak jacket - and are still protected by it.
---
Jack Point went looking for ammo and ended up in another Necrotech building in Heytown, having failed to find any police station or hospital within range that wasn't heavily barricaded.
---
On the other side of town, Funt Solo finally found out the secret resistance password [ie Free Running] and is holed up in a towerblock stronghold as the zombie hordes attack the brightly lit police station next door.
I'm alive again- Hurrah! Holed up in Boutcher Alley Police Dept, Pitneybank. Where's everybody headed now? Giddings Mall (right next door) is too heavily baracaded to get into- the twats...
I'm alive again- Hurrah! Holed up in Boutcher Alley Police Dept, Pitneybank. Where's everybody headed now? Giddings Mall (right next door) is too heavily baracaded to get into- the twats...
We're heading for the junkyard to the left of the Davenport Cinema in Pitneybank (two spaces diagonally down to the left of you).
Police Stations get attacked to much to use as bases...
I'm alive again- Hurrah
Did you get revived at Walrond Square? Or shoudl I move. I've put myself on the revive roster.
The junkyard next to Davenport Cinema is too heavily barricaded. I've had to hide in Boucher Alley Copshop.
Stoved in any zombies stood outside Dalley library recently Mr. Nightjar?
Cheers.
10AP to stand up?
Maybe not today.
The junkyard next to Davenport Cinema is too heavily barricaded
Well we need to break down some of those barricades don't we?. I can't though. I'm still deid.
Italics off
Stoved in any zombies stood outside Dalley library recently Mr. Nightjar?
Cheers.
Oops! Sorry.
You dead folk all look alike to me...
Never mind, I got 61 Exp out of it...
Well, I'm a bloody zombie again. Starting to get really pissed off...
I think someone needs to get the revive ability, and bloody quickly!
What a good idea...I'll work on that next...
"Did you get revived at Walrond Square?"
If that's where we were both standing, then yes.
I have devised a cunning experience boosting plan...
Duelling!
We'd need two fighter types and a doctor with lots of first aid kits. The two fighters take turns bashing each other in with fire axes (not to the death) and the doctor fixes them up afterwards...
Duelling, you say? Sneaky, but apparently human-on-human (or zombie/zombie) fighting only nets you half as much XP.
You'd level up faster if you could find a friendly zombie to smack you around a bit: according to the Wiki you can identify zombies if you've got the character on your contact list, otherwise they just appear as 'a zombie'.
Anyway, I'd be up for this, either as the medic or the zombie.
5 XP for a heal though.
I'm alive... alive!
I've got the construction skill as well, so if anyone finds a raggidy old base I can barricade it. Won't be until tomorrow mind.
I'm slowly but surely making my way over.
Chopping up pesky zombies is slowing me down, its just too damned tempting!
Hopefully, I'll get there tonight - entering from the NE side - any good places to hole up that arent barricaded beyond my ability to enter?
Hopefully, I'll get there tonight - entering from the NE side - any good places to hole up that arent barricaded beyond my ability to enter?
I'm currently in St Paschal's Hospital [74, 41] - although it did appear to be under seige when I came in...
7 Days later...
Roll call, who's alive, where are you, what skills do you have?
JoeXDredd is injured, infected, and close to death in the Bochall firestation, PitneyBank. A little help please!
JohnnyXAlpha is down south and doing much better.
Mr Flames is holed up in Randallbank - I have Free Running, Axe Proficiency & Hand 2 hand combat. I'll catch up with you all in a couple of days.
Slaine MacRoth is holed up in Williamsville way, way down south and surrounded by deadites. I have Free Running & Axe Proficiency. It'll take me weeks to get anywhere.
Neither have received even a scratch.
*Officer Plisken is looooong gone!
Goby Hutt is currently zombified at a revive point in Roywood. He's also, rather stupidly, just accidentally dropped his DNA extractor and he can't pick it up again.
Meanwhile, Victor Chud is holed up in The Denney Arms in Roysbank. He can heal and shoot, but neither very well.
Charles Fort is a zombie in Huntley Heights.
I live!
Arthur Wyatt is alive and holed up in a hospital in Roftwood. Once i've recovered from revivification and got some decent AP built up I'll make the trek over to Peppardville.
Fegbarr is holed up in Boucher Alley Police Dept in Pitneybank with a whole bunch of other survivors.
Meanwhile, The Zombie Plato is practising his groaning outside St Gregory's Hospital in Crowbank.
Charles Fort is a zombie in Huntley Heights.
Stay out of Huntley Heights - it's a death trap.
Having spent three days waiting patiently by the Whitlock Memorial to be revived, cop Hal Grimalkin is currently occupying a hospital, which he had to break into with a crowbar. He's looking for First Aid Kits. He's currently alone apart a Polish soldier...
Fegbarr, JoeXDredd is in the firestation next door (westward) and has only one hit point left and is infected. He can't do anything because it'll kill him. Could you help, or ask others to?
I can't do anything, but I'll ask once I get some AP back.
Bolt-01 and Dave6795 are both Dead. I'm in Pimbank (both of them), is there a revive point nearby?
Bolt-01
I'm in Roftwood too, currently holing up in the Dafforn Building to get some rest.
made it to marshmant police station - its a bit cramped, but at least i'm reloaded...
Doc Thursday I desperately need your help. I'm in the hospital with you and I'm infected. Heal me please Doc - I've only got 10 HP left!
The frustrating thing is I was infected when I got revived, so all my plans went to shit.
Gah, I'm asleep after a hard morning's searching for first aid kits and now I can't use them: the irony fairy is not a subtle creature. I'll be able to heal you in just under half an hour, sorry. In the meantime, try to bleed more slowly.
That's okay. No rush (if I don't do anything and we're not attacked) - just don't leave me! Sob!
Doc Thursday I desperately need your help. I'm in the hospital with you and I'm infected. Heal me please Doc - I've only got 10 HP left!
If you're in a hospital with a generator and lots of people, it's a fairly safe bet that you'll be healed up to full health pretty quickly...
The frustrating thing is I was infected when I got revived, so all my plans went to shit.
I think that always happens when you're revived - always carry a First Aid Kit in case you get infected. You don't get any Experience for healing yourself, but it's better than waking up to find that you've only got 4 HP left and you're gradually bleeding to death...
Well, Though I have been killed three or four times by other Zombies, I am gaining XP at a stadey rate. I only need another 30 points before I can purchase memories of life.
Then I will be open some doors.
Shambling slightly off-topic here... I think it could be a damn fine plan to have a Tooth-based game like this. Maybe something based in the undercity with muties, troggies and perps, or a block war game, or something on Mars, or Nu Earth: it'd probably take longer to list the possibilities than to code the thing.
Now, I admit I know roughly bog-all about programming or business, but I think this could be a smart move for Rebellion. The Urban Dead game looks like it has several thousand players (over 300000, according to its front page). I don't know how much it would cost Rebellion to take out a one-off advertising campaign to reach that many people, but I'd imagine it's more than it'd cost to design and run a game like this, and the game could conceivably attract thousands simply through word of mouth: stick up a banner for the latest TPBs or video game and voila, cheap advertising to a massive audience. And if it were anywhere near as addictive as Urban Dead you'd get a hell of a lot of repeat visits, so potentially it'd be more effective than a one-shot advert in a magazine.
Plus, if the game were actually any good then that alone could persuade people to give Rebellion's other titles a look.
So, we get to wander around smacking perps and muties, Rebellion gets a tonne of almost-free advertising, and everyone's happy. Except when they run out of AP two moves from their block.
What a great idea. I've just been malkied (again) on an excursion, so if you wnat to make with the healing ;)
I'm at Broddripp Auto Repair, 1 south and 7 west of you watcher. I'm resting in a house with a couple of people but there are zombie sprowling about.
I agree, I think a Judge Dredd version, or something of this ilk, would be great. If you have Mega City One, The Undercity and the Cursed Earth, that would be amazing. Imagine going on your own helltrek and coming across mutants, flying rats and tyrannosaurs. Or even just hanging about in Blocks in gangs, fighting each other with the occassional full scale block war.
okay this is my 2nd day of playing as stronty. Just used all my points trying pointlessly to swipe at a zombie with my baseball bat. Missed everytime. Now exhausted and asleep at Wray Heights.Oh and there is a zombie here as well. Have absolutely no idea what I'm doing here. Any hints guys?
Bad Andy (and Thursday): I'm in the same hospital as you now; if you need healing, let me know. If you have any AP, the doors could do with some beefing up!
All I've leasrned is to keep AP points back and try and make a well barricaded place full of people to rest in. Killing zombies is very difficult and can take a long time. Searching buildings turns up stuff I have a medi-kit a bottle of wine for the laydees and a can of fuel.
Starting to barricade but there are two zombies in here already. Get with the chopping.
Gameplay Advice for new non-zombies:
Priority #1:
Find somewhere safe to sleep. If you've not got Free Running, then that means a Very Strongly barricaded building (you can't get into Heavily Barricaded buildings - and buildings with their doors open aren't safe - neither is the street.) Hopefully, that building is either not of interest to zombie hordes (ie not a PD, FD, NecroTech, Hospital, Mall or Armoury) or heavily populated (reducing the risks of you getting eaten if the horde does break in).
Priority #2:
Find a good way to gain XP. (Firemen are good with axes, doctors are good with meds, soldiers are good with pistols...)
Priority #3:
Level up with the Free Running skill - it allows you to move from block to block without going outside - speeding you up and allowing entry into heavily barricaded blocks.
---
Survival in the early days is as much about luck as anything else. Expect to be eaten - you are, after all, living in a zombie-infested city.
---
PS Don't go to New Arkham - it's a zombie stronghold - and they're learning how to talk!
so, can you enter buildings that are barricaded then ? if so? how?
is one search of the area enough? and how the hell u supposed to kill these guys ?!
okay this is my 2nd day of playing as stronty. Just used all my points trying pointlessly to swipe at a zombie with my baseball bat. Missed everytime. Now exhausted and asleep at Wray Heights.Oh and there is a zombie here as well. Have absolutely no idea what I'm doing here. Any hints guys?
Only try hitting things if you've started out as a fireman, or shooting things if you're a cop or a private (you will need LOTS of ammunition to go up in level, though - search in police stations for ammo)
Other characters should probably start by searching in hospitals, find loads of first aid kits, then search the surrounding buildings and streets for survivors. Someone on their own is probably wounded, so use the first aid kit on them (you waste an AP if they're not wounded, but you keep the kit). This builds up exp at 5 points per sucessful heal.
You also get exp for throwing bodies out of buildings, using a DNA extractor on a zombie and reading books (although it's something like 1 point for every 50 AP, so I'm not sure it's worth the effort).
However, your guy is probably now dead. Tomorrow, he'll rise as one of the dead. If you want to bring him back to life, you need to queue up next to a revive point (they're usually monuments and graveyards, marked with tags) - move towards one that's got loads of zombies standing in a group. You might be there for a while, though, so spend your APs by cutting down the queue by eating the brain of the next zombie in line. (I suspect that this is annoying for the zombie at the front of the queue, but it seems to happen in every line I've been in...)
Eventually you'll get revived by a passing scientist.
From the history of Pitneybank suburb:
"September 7th, 2005 - Pitneybank is the location of the first recorded defeat of The Many, due to the controversial efforts of Operation Windmill Scrotum."
so, can you enter buildings that are barricaded then ? if so? how?
Either find a crowbar and attack a barricade with it (you need to search factories or junkyards) or get the free running skill.
is one search of the area enough? and how the hell u supposed to kill these guys ?!
No, there's a chance of finding something every time you search (Hospitals are good for First Aid Kits, Police Stations for guns, ammunition and armour, fire stations for fire axes, fuel and generators).
Or if a buiklding is only 'strongly' barricaded you can still get in.
"PS Don't go to New Arkham - it's a zombie stronghold - and they're learning how to talk!"
That's where I've come from.
Bah - ive been infected by a solitary bite - knew i should ahve left the MArshmant Station - still got that medi kit PVS - if so, fancy using it to save a fellow squax? I can make it to you if you like?
MArshmant not looking too safe, so ive made a break for it - Dr vimto, I've joined you at the auto repair shop, with pleading eyes and a gaping wound...
Sorted Dobey Queeg. I restored ten hit points and cured your infection, but I'm just out of med school so no idea if you are injured further.
Gutting, if you reload your screen, you do the same thing again, there goes my spare med kit, just hope you needed the healing :p
Dr Vimto
How many of us have made it to Pitneybank thus far, then?
Cheers to anyone who helped JoeXDredd survive. If I can ever return the favour.
Oh, and as for 2k versions - wandering Nu Earth as a Nort or a Souther sounds fun, or through the cursed earth as Human or Mutie appeals too.
Looks like theres a co-ordinated zombie attack going on at the Hildebrand Mall in Roftwood.
How many of us have made it to Pitneybank thus far, then?
Mister Nightjar is currently in the Boxall Fire Station with (unless he's moved) DXB's character JoeXDredd.
I'm currently planning on running hit and run attacks on the zombies occupying the Armoury in Peppardville, as they're more likely to be dedicated dead rather than people who want to be revived.
Hal Grimalkin is in the Monica General Hospital in Roywood. The silly fellow seems to have mistaken his pistol for a newspaper and thrown it away...
Joe may have moved next door to find bullets. I think Eyebrows and Point were with me when I fell asleep. Which isn't as comforting as it sounds.
bad andy - just realised your post might have been about marshmant - if so who were you in there?- if I'd have realised, i could have pumped lead into those zombies rather than be bitten - we need a roll call of who is out there - me, im Dobey Kweeg, currently in the auto repair shop with Dr Vimto
Nah - I've been sorted thanks.
Safely holed up in the hospital I'm guessing is four moves south of you - St Benedicts. Here with fellow Necronauts Doc Thursday and Doc Feelygood.
I think the unofficial plan is just to build up a bit of AP through healing and axing before perhaps putting the official plan from a few pages earlier into action.
I'm going to attack the zombies around the fort tomorrow. If you find a suitable abandoned place we can all call our own I can barricade it up for us, but I think we need a few more skill sto even do that yet. If we're going to be a team we need people working on the health and revive chracteristics, but free running is the essential skill at the mo it seems.
Looking back and Boxall's four moves from Byrne, which is another four from St Benedicts.
That's eight Necronauts in a managable area. Maybe we should all meet in Byrne tomorrow (if we're still alive after the night).
Whatever you do don't attack the hordes at Walrond Square - that's ex-people looking to get revived.
The attack on Hildebrand Mall is pretty major... might be worth avoiding Roftwood for a while unless you've got enough APs to get in and out.
Some high powered zombie just came in and killed us all. I'm now dead, but at least had the pleasure of biting the fucker back.
My sssoullesss carcassss currrently resssidesss in St Theodore'sss Church in Ridleybank (54, 48).
Onccce I've amasssed 100XP, if I ssshamble over to Peppardville, isss there anyone who can resssurect me?
++ Whatever you do don't attack the hordes at Walrond Square - that's ex-people looking to get revived. ++
TBO attacking queues of zombies waiting to be cured at revive points (see Wiki Urban Dead Main Page for details) is how alot of players (Rotters and Golddiggers?) make easy XPs and gain levels quickly.
If the Necronauts ran a revive point you wouldn't have to axe, bite or heal each other to gain points just other players visiting the RP.
The whole city seems to run on rackets like this..
No, no. A rotter is a zombie who's bought the brain rot skill, which stops them from being revived in the street. A career zombie.
BTW Jim Callous will be shuffling over to Walrond, SW of Byrne Auto tomorrow for reviving at some point- the novelty of being undead has worn off 8[
So they hang around RPs biting newly revived survivors and Tecs..
We've been invaded by a zombie as well. I've used my remaining APs trying to build the barricade up though. Hope I'm still alive in the morn and someone else has finished off the Zombie - it had already killed four of us.
Ridleybank: Buttery Row School
Found a spraycan. Need help, as there's a zombie in here with me.
ps: used the spray can- but maybe others can find it.
Scrawling "Zarjaz" if and when I can.
There were five zombies in hospital with us - and they were all mega strong so I've legged it to Bromley Auto Repair. Doc Feelygood has bought it I'm afraid, but Doc Thursday is still alive.
Need at least 40 points to make it to Moon way revive point.. just debating whether i should play dead or shamble a bit closer, so i can scarper once ive been revived...
Arse. This is no time for me to be lying down on the job. I'll try and get revived and catch you up somewhere later...
Made it to Bromley Auto Repair with AP and first aid kits to spare: anyone nearby needs fixing, give me a shout.
I'm fine thanks, Thurs.
Ming go north three and east one to Walrond Sq. It's a revive point and I didn't see much of a queue.
I'm going to get my head down and accumulate some AP. Got to plan long-term because I won't have net access next week.
Hmmm - having problem posting on this thread now. Maybe I'm overdoing it :-
Did anyone know Necronauts has it's own Wiki Urban Dead page?
Found it by accident. I presume it's created automatically once more than one person joins a group.
Blank Wiki here.. (http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Necronauts%22%20target=%22_blank)
Both of me are waiting for revive, and Minibolt has joined the fray. We are working around the 160 rule carefully.
Bolt-01
Not automatic, I started it but couldn't work out how to do the fancy Group stats box out or how to link it to the stats (well done whoever) and what I wrote wasn't much cop so I erased it. Anyone up for having a stab?
There's a race going on- right now, around the outskirts of Malton..
Link: Zedball Rally '06
Made it to Bromley Auto Repair with AP and first aid kits to spare: anyone nearby needs fixing, give me a shout.
I'm wounded and inside St Lucy's Church...
There's also a zombie standing outside the armoury who's been recuded to 1 HP if anyone wants an easy kill (I had to run away).
Oliver, do you want to be on the ISBN details and thanks for the CD.
Sorry... brains...
++ do you want to be on the ISBN details ++
Not sure what you mean, I log into yahoo- email me there.
Cheers, Ol
"I'm wounded and inside St Lucy's Church... "
Sorted. But there are three zombies in there, so feel free to join me in the old 'running the hell away'.
Sorted. But there are three zombies in there, so feel free to join me in the old 'running the hell away'.
Cheers!
I've run away into the junkyard now...
Anyone mind if I joing the Necronauts lads? I'm currently deceased but working on being revived. Both Rhodenbank revive points are either busy or abandoned so tommorow I'm heading south for Rolt Heights then Pitney Bank.
Any known revive points in Pitney Bank?
Finn Sinn
With my two characters I found a secure house and then went for attack skills to start with, working on the theory that it would make aquiring skills quicker after that and I'm right. Axe proficiency of 40% is bloody handy and although I wasted a say looking for bullets having pistol proficiency of 55% I'm more likely to get XP tomorrow.
Players with multiple characters should consider stumping up the money for ISP immunity. It works out at 2.83 per character, though it takes a few days for Kevan to get round to processing it. Once he does though it's really usefull.
Sorry, wrong thread. Let's let this one die.
There are about 60 survivors in the Halberry Boulevard Police Station in Pitneybank, so should be safe
I'm still standing in the same spot I have been over the last week ( In real time.).
I have earn't first 100 hundred points & have taken 'Memories of Life'.
Right now I am knocking down a barriacde.
Alive! - but still infected - if theres anyone with a spare medkit and in the vicinity of the Fennessey Police Station, let me know, and you could save a recent revivee!
Made it to Peppardville [70, 47] but I got infected, and then died. How can I be revived? Can anyone help me, and tell me how to meet the rest of you?
Also, how do you gain xp?
As a zombie you gain XP by attacking people. You can gain them by attacking fellow zombies but you only get half the amount you would for a human. As a human you can get XP by attacking and killing zombies, using Medkits on fellow survivors, tagging certain buildings.
As for the nearest revival point, there's a graveyard in the north west of the suburb to the east of Peppardville (I think) or you might want to consult the wiki.
theres a great revive point down South in Edgecombe - Digby Walk - 76, 53
quick revive and i'm so far safely away
JoeXDredd is the dead man after all. He's now off to Edgecombe.
David, you will need to follow the link spraid on the wall to make an official request, it then takes up to 24 hours.
I was well pleased.
Cheers Paul. Will head on down and see what I can do. Can't move before the morning cause of the ISP thingy but I'm hoping to bring Joe back to the land of the living.
I'm a happy Zombie who has finally made it indoors.
Now what, I can I do now. There isn't anyuwhere to go in this hospital.
Anyways, At least I am safe from other first level Zombies.'
I was just thinking a Highlander version of this game would be cool.
Now arrived in pitneybank. What should I be doing?
Finn Sinn
in tollyton reeves bank
what is the current postion where the most necronaughts are based?
I need to get to a hospoital to find some first aid packs to cure myself and others. Can anyone tell me if St Benedicts in Peppardville or St. Lawrences in Edgewood is accessible?
Noisybast is skulking around the revive point at Digby Walk, Edgecombe...
I need to get to a hospoital to find some first aid packs to cure myself and others. Can anyone tell me if St Benedicts in Peppardville or St. Lawrences in Edgewood is accessible?
St Paschal's in Peppardville is barricaded up to VS strength and is currently accessable (Mister Nightjar has just knocked part of it down).
Although someone's probably rebuilt it by now...
Dammit! Dead because someone had overbarricaded Bromley Auto Repair!
At least I'm only one stop from a resurrection point.
Takes a lot of patience, doesn't it?
I'm at Digby, just added Bolt-01 and Noisybast to my contacts list.
We may not have a plan, a base, or even much social cohesion but we Necronauts can be proud to be the 27th largest group in Malton, with 167 groups below us to piss on.
"Takes a lot of patience, doesn't it?"
More patience than Dr Kildare.
Dreddful has 67 XP but is dead as is Wagg who as a civilian only has a 10% chance of scoring with a hit and struggling to get over 35 XP - anyone any tips for quick point acculation? At this rate my first power up will be in August...2009.
Currently lying dead outside the Maine Building. Someone has painted 'ZARJAZ!' on the wall.
If anyone gets revived at Digby and needs healing, let me know. I'll tell you where to go.
p.s. yes, I'm a qualified doctor and all healing will be done in the strictest confidence. Your family need never know you were infected.
I'm close to Digby, so when you are revived let me know.
just been revived !! south blythville, gee street. Waited about 5 mins ! can you believe that? Now asleep in the same place so probably dead by the time i check in the morning !
If you are revived, i think it's best to lie there and play dead till you get all your AP's back.
best way to power up is to help others, rather than attack zombies - heal people and throw the dead out of buildings - that sort of thing - then when you power up your chances of hitting, swap to more offensive means of gaining XP - or become a scientist type and revive
Bolt-01 has just gotten revived at Digby!
I'm lying low till tomorrow so I can stand up and make a run for it. Where to?
if you are in a group then the best way to get ap's quickly i to get a friend and trade slaps and patch ups with them. points for the attack and for the heal. gather loads of health packs first from the hospital and make sure you do the dirty work away from the eyes of prying survivors, klest you are labelled a PKer (player killer)(thought it meant Psycho killer till I read the WIKI.. Sounds much better.)
if you are in a group then the best way to get ap's quickly i to get a friend and trade slaps and patch ups with them.
If it comes to that kind of bollocks whats the point in playing?
THE Ap rate fro standing up has now gone up to 15APS. Is that right?
Funny thing is that I ended up in Pintey Bank only after taking a few steps away froma Hospital in Peppardsville
Er... I was hiding in Club Gilford and had a good thing going, sadly I'm now dead as someone barricaded it up so high I couldn't get back in. No healing from me guys, I'm one of the living dead again.
15 APs to stand up only happens when you've been headshot by a zombie hunter.
PVS: I think I'll have to disregard your message then...
:)
Bolt-01 about to try to find somewhere to sleep safely!
I'm in a junkyard in Edgecombe. Should be okay, but I'm infected and only have 11 hit points. Anybody up for a spot of heal the Bolt?
bolt where are you exactly (grid co-ords) - got a med pack, but if i leave where i am, is it safely but not too securely barricaded at your end?
Watch: I'm at 57 50. It is very strongly barricaded. I don't have any abilities as yet, and was able to just enter.
Bolt-01
OK Bolt, you're healed a bit - at least the infection has gone. Pavey PD is VS barricaded, but I've leanrt by death its best not to hang around PDs or Hospitals too long. Think it might be best to stick it out here til my AP rise - then try and find more medpacks and ammo - at the mo, i'm out of both.
Cheers Watch. I'll have a look around now then.
Bolt
I'm in Peppardville a few blocks north east to The Maine Building.
Finn Sinn
well, today has been a strange one, as I have been knocked over twice as Zombie by Zombie Hunters and have stood up twice and then I got revived by somebody else, so I lost all my Zombie skills, before I could do much as a normal human, I got killed again by a Zombie horde by their looks.
So I am back to being happy Zombie again.
BOLT! Be aware some joker has barricaded up our junkyard - if you leave, you wont be able to get back in - unless that nice Dr Vimto (deceased) wants to shake em down a bit?
It's a bit of a trek, but Doctor Vimto might be persuaded to shamble that way when he has enough energy. I would say that if I start, others might follow.
I did shake up Club Guilford a bit this morning and remove one barricade, but that might be restored by now.
No, unluckily I've been revived in the meantime. I have to wait 24 hours to get my AP's back, then I'll be up for getting myself killed again no doubt :p
Just for the record, how many of us are in Peppardville now? I'm still a zombie whose just killed a lone brain muncher outside Club Minchinton (1 block wesr of Marshment Place PD.
Finn Sinn
Cheers for the heads up Watch. I'm just about to play.
Bolt-01
dunno if this message comes too late Bolt, but the Fruin Building roughly to the East is VS strength - holed up there now
Cheers Watch. Made it over to a place in Picton (SP?) which I've managed to get Bolt01 into.
Dave6795 the zombie has ended the day on 99 xp! Argh! Hopefully I'll be getting a zombie ability tomorrow.
Bolt-01
JohnnyXAlpha left cover but even with free running was unable to return to base due to people barricading buildings behind him. After searching the armoury at Whittenside his only hope for survival is that the crowd of survivors gathered inside doesn't splinter. 4 zombies verses 20 humans. Perhaps he'll go un-noticed.
Urban Dead have produced a new game to promote the new Romero fillum. No revives!
Come and have a go - and if you see my characters Lovethezombies, Deathwastoogood, or misterbiswas around, don't kill them.
Right I joined this Urban Dead thing today, don't know what it is but sounds like fun. I'm Private Trumpetron. Yes, I went through every horror movie character I could think of to get a cool name but when they were all taken I decided to type one in that nobody would ever want. I AM PRIVATE TRUMPETRON.
I've joined the Diary of the Dead tie-in game as Spacemaths. If you see me, don't kill me. Please.
i'm acop called officer mogzilla and a zombie called elvis burger in the regular game...didnt read the rules so mogzilla is getting munched in his sleep!!!
and a private armer in the romero setting
Look at for a Zombie called 'Rotz Alot'
That one is mine.
Created today.
I just about took down chracter by the name of Jebus123.
Anybody know Keith Frohman?
The Sausage King of Chicago?
Oh no that was Abe Frohman, sorry.
He just shot me 20 minutes ago for five points.
I joined the Romero one as well, as Tromatron. Really I'm sure I could find better names, but EVERYTHING appears to be taken! Still not sure what I'm doing.
...aaand oficer mogzilla is undead! i knew i shouldnt have fallen asleep in the street!
I beleive I am now sleeping at a location north east of the Poice Depot in VineTown.
So far I have been shot dead twice.
It's not really worth while movieing around tooo much ithout all my points.
I am lying dead in Shaft grove if anybody wants to revive a Zombie.
You've got to stand up to be revived.
pinkydinkydoo my fireman is dead.i thought i was safe! pvte armer left!
Standing( 50 Hit Points), and awake( 7 Action Points) under the Bhore Monument with 25 other zombies.
I now also have human fire fighter called Seagrave ( I named him after a Fire and Ladder Truck.) who is dressed naturally as a fire -fighter.
Standing inside The Barter road Fire Depot in amongst a bunch of other humans.
I'm still at first level, and feeling pretty healthy on 50 hitpoints. Only feeling slightly drowsy at 3 action points. Having left the fire depot just recently to dispatch one zombie with my fire-axe. I had to attack it between twenty to thirty times before it fell.
If you're in Monroeville, look out for some a'hole called Father Humphries... he killed my sleeping fire fighter Edgar Boon, saying "With this final shot, I deliver you to your new life."
Nice to see someone rationalise their xp harvesting cynicism.
My new is in character is in West Grayside.
I just wondering if being ataked while you still have A.Ps. is any diffrent to when you don't. Meaning when your character is asleep.
No difference as far as I can see.
I've now got 4 characters knocking about in Monroeville: Edgar Boon, zombie fireman; Martha Wallock, middle-aged accounts clerk; Dr Lilian Spitz, dermatologist; and Amineh Chomera, soldier.
I'm glad there's a limit on Action Points... I need games which slap my wrist when I get too keen.
Been meaning to say for a while, ned- I love your icon mate! It's class.
My Zombie had been revivicated yesterday. Much to my dismay.
I't s more fun to be a zombie in this game.
Where mortals have to restrain themselves.
So he's moved into the bank nearby while still human.
One of my characters have found a flare gun. Going outside the building to use it. Now it is missing from the inventory. Strange.
Do you drop stuff when sleeping.
My human fire-fighter has not gone to sleep yet, always staying on more than ten action points.
My zombie has gone unconsious three times and has also been shot dead as many times. Though not since being made human again.
Both characters are now not doing much both standing in barricaded building surrounded by other humans.
No other zombies in the vicinty.
Thanks, satchmo!
It's Professor Boss. Not that anyone knows who that is. But it's him.
Some guy called DrBS shot at me a few times, killing me, ( Whi;le I was still human.) accused me of attacking him. I perhaps did. Though I don't remember the name. Now that my character Rotz Alot is a zombie again.
Please help my civilian fireman called 'SeaGrave' In amongts the Zombie rioting at Barter Road Firs Station, he was bitten by zombie and this has been infected amnd ill be needing some mdeical assistance. So he is losing hit points.
At 20 hitpoints and falling......
The barricade here need rebuilding.
Anyone in Monroville.. or intending to join soon?
I'm having a real good time - if anyone wants to make an aggressive hick and join my little group of rootin' tootin' a'hole kinfolk, come here:

Ned

What does it mean when you go to attack somebody else and the game tells that you can't because they have now moved. Yet they are still in the same building or location you character is in.
It probably means they left the building and came back in quickly
The borders around Monroeville will be locked shut in three days time. I'm not sure what that means for inhabitants and/or insiders.
' To quote from the latest news.....
'Monroeville is now locked down in full quarantine - no new characters can be created there, characters will no longer idle out, all idle characters have been reactivated, and zombies in the city can now be killed permanently by removing the head or destroying the brain using the "Headshot" skill.'
*************************************************
I'm not sure what they mean by IDLING.
Though, I am alittle concerned for both my characters who are Zombies.

Idling:
Normally if you don't log in for (I think) five days, your character disappears from the game world until you next log in.
