It's a rotten name for a comic, though.

Word round the campfire is that playing Elite: Dangerous the ultra-safe, shipping routes way is a nice mellow experience, I might give that a try.

I must have put the wrong sort of questions into Google. My friend showed me a printed off page with all the information displayed the way she wanted, that presumably someone else on the same project had done, and said "can you do this?"

I'll try doing all this. Thanks for the help, and I may be back later with more requests.

It's a database of people from my area who served in WW1, and my friend is doing...something, with it, not sure. There are maybe 20 columns, and a few thousand rows? I'm sure there's a way to do it, but I'm addled with painkillers and am not at my sharpest. And know basically nothing about Access.

Classifieds / Extreme wanted

While I do want the entire 90s soft-rock band for my very own, this is about the comic.

For some reason, they're obscenely expensive on eBay. As my mission to be completely complete is nearing its end, the only major hole in the collection is the Extremes - I've got maybe 10 of them. So, if you have a bunch and want to sell them for a price slightly less than a first class plane ticket to the USA, let me know.

Help! / Microsoft Access Help

Because I'm bloody stumped everywhere else.

Access 2010

I've got a million rows of data (not quite), with loads of columns too. I can't print all the columns in a row  - too many - so I wanted to design a view where I can see all the data from one row of the document, spread over several rows of the display. Does this make sense?

Access's "Form View" just gives me a blank grid with no apparent way of designing things. I've gone to "Create / More Forms / Split Table" is pretty good, but it's not really what I want. Although that's closest, for any Access wizards who are able to help out.

Please help, because I feel stupid.

I like how they pulled a trick on us with Stannis - there's a lot of effort in the later books and tv seasons to make him likable and humanise him so he becomes someone to really root for, then suddenly we're reminded: oh yeah, this is the same guy who used sorcery to murder his own brother, and who regularly burns people alive in the name of a very sketchy religion.
Absolutely. Great performance, too, but I think the way they twisted his character to get him ready for what happened (for a man so obsessed with succession, why kill his only heir?) didn't serve him or the show very well. I never particularly bought he was interested in "the greater good" either, power seemed its own end for him. And his much-vaunted tactical prowess went right to hell at the end.

Daenerys is fine from time to time (like getting on that dragon) but unlike Jon Snow, she hasn't grown a great deal as a character. Still making rotten decisions, still that unbearable wait before her character does something relevant to the game of thrones.

The Jon Snow thing...why not, as soon as the gates opened, shout "there's a massive chuffing army of ice zombies! Coming this way! We need to do something!" Instead, he goes and mopes for a bit until the kid, who was obviously going to murder Jon since the beginning of the season, murders him. The best explanation is "some people just aren't ready for Jon's out-of-the-box thinking", but the show could have maybe used some of its sexual violence time and expanded on that theme a little.

The 1986 version of April Fool's Day - I have to say that because I discover there's a 2008 remake. One of the best horror films of the 80s, I bloody love it.

Having just failed a few times at a pain-in-the-ass FPS mission, I begin to appreciate the joy of a nice mellow game, one where you can just explore a bit, or it's fun puzzles, or there's nothing much to worry about.

Oddly, I hear good things about "Euro Truck Simulator 2" in this regard, and I have it as part of a HumbleBundle from ages ago, but can anyone recommend a good mellow game? Perhaps one of the "Civilization" or "Sim City" games on the easiest setting?

My friends with baby pictures as their avatars on Facebook have been changing to the rainbow colours in support of Pride. And I thought, I know we've still got a ways to go, but those kids stand a decent chance of growing up in a world where people don't give two hoots what the gender of people getting married is. And it made me cry with happiness.

Now we've just got to make sure they've got jobs and homes and aren't being bred for meat by some super-evil future 1% :)

Classifieds / Tape question
27 June, 2015, 06:08:56 PM
Hello all! This is sort of a classified question, I suppose.

I'm about 100 progs from completing my collection (mostly the early ones, obviously) and have started bagging and boarding. But, the top bit of all the bags is flapping about and it annoys my keen sense of order.

So, and I know this is sort of a dumb question, is there a good tape to buy? Not too strong, obviously, as it'll rip the bags, and one of those dispensers would be nice cos then I could tear off the right amount every time without using my teeth.

I'm happy and sad for gay people.

I'm happy they can get married, but sad they'll find out how much marriage sucks.
I'm sure there's quite a few commitment-averse gay people realising they've got one less argument against settling down now :)

It's enough to bring a tear to your eye. In recent memory, people have died just for their sexuality, and now everyone can get married. Ain't it lovely? And with Ireland recently too...

I don't know. Not much of a thread. I'm just happy as hell.

Thirteen episodes if you count the character teaming up with Nightman that one time.
It's the "Dark Matter (And Revealing Important Manimal Trivia)" thread!

Most likely the videotape in their archives of Buck Rogers and Manimal is starting to get a little threadbare from near-constant use and they're forced into replenishing their stock of shows they can repeat until doomsday.  We'll see what - if anything - they're still making this time next year.
I'm as surprised as anyone, but they only ever made like 12 episodes of "Manimal". I just assumed throughout my youth it went on for ever, but it was just my rubbish memory and watching the same episodes again :)
