Games / Re: Best 32" LCD Gaming TV?

QuoteHa, totally! For the first couple of months you'll probably have a quick blast through the back catalogue and marvel at how that piddly text you couldn't read previously is now crystal clear!

I've so far resisted the urge to put Dead Rising in. I always thought it probably said, "Buy a new TV you cheapskate!"

Whoever slipped DJ Shadow's "Buidling Steam with a Grain of Salt" in there deserves a pay rise.

Really enjoyed the single player campaign but I'd agree it's not as good as Arkham Asylum. Loading scenes with Sam looking well miffed coupled with "GRIM" scrolling across his chest cracked me up!

I took the plunge yesterday and picked up an LG 32" LH3000 model. I'm chuffed with the input lag (or lack of) and the picture and sound look great.

Probably going to spend today getting shot for hanging around looking at textures!  :D

I think I'm starting to be swayed by Samsung. Seen some good reviews for the current 32" models. It's annoying that there isn't a website or blog that really covers the input lag when reviewing TVs.

It's also a confidence thing. I'm just looking for someone to say, "Yes, this will be great." before I lay my money down!

Games / Best 32" LCD Gaming TV?
01 June, 2010, 10:23:48 PM
This is a common question but one which I haven't seen answered: What is the best 32" LCD gaming TV?

Can anyone recommend a TV that is used 80% for gaming / 20% movies & television? The order of priority being 1. Extremely low input lag; 2. Picture quality, 3. Connectivity & sound.

There doesn't seem to be a clear article or blog post about this question. I used to hear good things about LG and Samsung, now I hear Panasonic LCDs are getting better; Sony Bravias all look great but don't seem too hot with input lag.

Anyone really happy with their current TV? I'm not looking for the high-end models, just something in the £250 - 450 price bracket. It's driving me crazy because I want to be sure before I buy it!

Please help!

It's been a while since I was last here but thought I'd share what I got up to whilst snowed in (well, that's what I told my boss).

R2-D2 Snowbot

On second thoughts, I probably should've attempted "Sno-Jaws" but I don't think I could've replicated the smell...

Hey James,

Do you still have progs 1511 - 1577? I've got a 2 year catch up to get through so this would make a good start!

PM me a price if you're interested in selling.

Cheers,
Joe

Off Topic / The V.Cs - Over & out
22 October, 2006, 12:25:59 PM
After nearly 4 years of sci-fi based musical magic, The V.Cs have decided to call it a day. Weâ??ve all had a hell of a laugh throughout the time weâ??ve been around and are eternally grateful to all those who have shown their support to us in any capacity.

A massive thank you must go out to those people involved in making it all happen. Thank you to all the musicians, promoters, engineers, friends, advisors and most of all, fans, for helping us when we needed it and making us feel like superheroes!

Our last release will be â??Residual Energy of the Broken Heartedâ? which appears on Lupine Recordâ??s â??Tales From The Luxâ? compilation which will be available from http://www.myspace.com/lupinerecords and at our final 2 gigs in Manchester and Wigan. You can listen to this track now on our MySpace.

There may be future material/recordings released, including a possible story that will appear on thevcs.com, but there are no plans for The V.Cs to play live after November 1st.

Our website, www.thevcs.com, and our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/thevcs will continue to be checked and updated so you can keep in touch with us all there.

Our final 3 gigs are as follows:

Oct 27th (Sat) @ Joshua Brookes, Manchester

Oct 30th (Mon) @ Dry Bar, Manchester

Nov 1st (Wed) @ Kings Electric, Wigan

Please make it down and say goodbye!

Thanks once again.

Your space-buddies,
The V.Cs
