I'd definitely double that for a story of that age and profile. Not sure I'd want to treble it though.

I meant to post this earlier, but mislaid my SD card. I thought you'd appreciate this Tharg mask I bought from Brett, taking pride of place in our new dining room last Saturday.

I put in a serious but low-ball offer. Unfortunately, Simon Bisley's artwork is worth more than my appreciation of it. I think Brian Bolland and Frank Hampson are the only artists for which I'd be willing to pay more than £500 for an interior (without there being extenuating circumstances such as it being from the first ever episode of Strontium Dog).

I've just taken a photo of my new Dante page. I'm looking forward to finding a place to display it (but it might have to wait until my house has been extended...which is the plan for 2014).

My son is in denial about us moving house, but the Steam sale was sufficient motivation for him to pack a box of books in his bedroom and help hang out some washing to earn £1.50 which was sufficient for him to buy Portal + Portal 2 for £4.49.

A John Burns Nikolai Dante page has been on my list to buy at some point. I've not been in a particular hurry since I've felt that I could buy one direct from him at a convention. However, this page was just too good to pass up.



I don't usually buy double page spreads, but this one is (I think) just small enough to fit into an A2 portfolio. Definitely one I'd like to find wall space for, but that will have to wait until the extension. However, this massive Brendan McCarthy Mekon is going over my fireplace as soon as I've reseated it in it's frame and added the picture wire.

Just a quick comparison of the pic Jim showed of the art for the second page from this episode (from Wake's collection) is enough to raise serious doubts - for me, at least.  Cam's comments also suggest that something's not right here.  As I said, if Wake can comment on how the back of his page looks (IPC stamp?  Prog and page details?  Sizing / repro info?) compared to Simon's, I think that should be conclusive.

Sorry for the delay. I'm in the process of moving house and my original artwork has gone ahead. Anyway, I'm here with Milli-Com Memories from Prog 318 now. As you've already checked, the speech balloons are all pasted on, as you would expect. On the back the board is by ORAM & ROBINSON, LTD. and while there is no official IPC stamp, the following has been hand written:

On the front, some of the notes in the borders have been covered up with white paper: e.g. 663 in the bottom right hand corner.

It would be good to establish whether your page can direct from Steve, in which case it must have come like that from Cam himself, or whether it passed through any further hands. Personally I think the most likely explanation is that the original page was damaged and therefore a copy was made (including some touching up) for the Titan reprint, which in turn was returned to Cam with the art from the rest of the story.

I was considering chasing this but by the sounds of it it's probably a good idea that I just forgot about it   Anyway, congrats, Wake - a really beautiful piece of art and a historically important one.  Post up a decent scan if you can, please.

It's even better in the flesh than I'd hoped for :-) I scanned it in two parts on my work A3 scanner and managed to stitch the images together with the join in the white between frames.

Hi everyone - I'm new here and have just popped up to say that I am parting with my Strontium Dog page from Starlord No.1.  The sale is being handled online through Comic Book Postal Auctions and the hammer falls this Tuesday at 8pm.  If you haven't bid there before, you need to first submit an e-mail bid using their form and then follow up by phone for any subsequent bids.

The page comes from Johnny Alpha's debut.  It probably sells itself without me having to say much more.  I have requested a reserve of £250 - £300.

Thanks for listing it! I think that now rates as the most expensive page I've bought other than one of my Frank Hampson Dan Dares (and possibly the other one). I've got an Ian Kennedy TimeQuake page from Starlord issue 1 and a Dave Gibbons Harlem Heroes from 2000AD Prog 1 but the earliest Stront page I've got is from Prog 493 (Incident on Mayger Minor). I've bought from Compal a few times over the years, but I imagine my bid got bumped up a bit from the publicity on facebook and DownTheTubes
