Not to me but to a friend, who I got a lift from yesterday. After having children about 25 years ago she suddenly became such a nervous driver she went to see her doctor. As she was not keen on taking medication the doctor recommended that she started smoking to calm her nerves. According to Doctor ****wit five cigarettes a day are fine. So thanks to that idiot, she has been a smoker since then (and smokes about 10-20 a day). Not only could she damage her health but she also runs the risk of crashing her car while she has the distraction of lighting up and smoking fags while driving. Nice one.

:o

NO SHIT!?!?

Call me old fashioned - but shouldn't a doctor be struck off for giving dumb advice like that?

Film & TV / Re: Comic Relief

The thing is, Comic Relief was absolutely amazing last time. What made it amazing was Chris Moyles and Dave Vitty doing the world's longest ever radio show. The goal was to reach £500,000, but they ended up raising £3Million. They broadcast straight for three days or something and I tell you it was absolutely amazing to listen to. We had every radio on in every room in the house!

That's what this year's was missing. Something like that which bought the whole nation together. What Moyles and Vitty did was absolutely remarkable.

Digging Bowie's new one. Heavy replay value.

Yup. I'm loving it. Uncovering new stuff with every replay.

Yeah, The Stars Come Out Tonight is like classic Bowie from the 80's. All in all, not bad for a 66 year old.  :)

I've got a fucking evil cold like virus. However, the upshot is it makes me sleep. And I LOVE sleep! And the wife's knows I'm ill, so she's letting me sleep! Mmmm, bedfordshire here I come!

Would watch the rest of Comic Relief... but nah. I'm close to passing out here.

I INTEND to buy it regularly. I only started buying it again last month. And then, there was a copy in WHSmith. It was THIS month's that I had a hard time getting hold off. Hope this clears matters up.

Creative Common / Emotional Structure by Peter Dunne

I've quit my job and my wife is supporting me to write a screenplay. It's hard going, but I couldn't do it without this excellent book. I recommend it highly.

I'm not really sure what you're saying here.

Why's that - have I suddenly started typing in Egyptian without realising?

(j/k mate, lol  :), ignore me - watching This Morning's supernatural week has made me kind of goofy. There was some batshit crazy woman on it yesterday who reckoned aliens had sex with her at a bus-stop).

...so long as you're packing A) a Lawgiver or B) a daystick!  :D

Dude, if I had that shit I'd be taking the law to lawless out in the Cursed Earth. Or Slough as the locals call it.

"You'll see I mentioned my walk home earlier. Well let me tell you guys. Whilst walking home, dissapointed and crushed that a comic book character I loved had been so badly fucked up - a wasp somehow made it's way into my trousers and STUNG ME ON MY ASS."

The only time (touch wood) it's ever happened to me.

Quote from: Mabs on 14 March, 2013, 11:57:31 AMOuch!!

Not an experience I'd want to repeat.

Quote from: Mabs on 14 March, 2013, 11:57:31 AMGreat write up ChickenStu, and i couldn't agree with you more.

Lol, thanks dude. The annoying thing is, it probably could have been a good movie.  :(

You don't have to pay for a sub upfront - I pay monthly.

Wife wouldn't let me mate. I had a sub to 2000AD and Judge Dredd Megazine years ago, but life kind of got in the way and we had to move house. Things got so busy, they'd just come through the door and I wouldn't even open the envelope. Just completely slipped by me. Recently when I became interested I found all those, opened them and put them in a box so I could get round to reading them one day.

Even with my complete renewed interest and the graphic novels of it I own - she wouldn't run the risk of that happening again, monthly or not. My own damn fault really...  :(

find a nice friendly shop near to you and ask them to order it in - or get a sub!

Can't afford the subscription - it's a bit on the pricey side. For me, anyway.  :-[

The X Files to come back for a Season 10 in comic book form via IDW, this has made my year, June cannot come soon enough. I imagine that this is possibly the first comic my wife will read as she's a massive X Files fan too.

I may check that out - but I'd rather see a new movie that wraps everything up for good. That would rock.

Also, I'd love to see Kenneth Johnson write an Incredible Hulk book based on his series - and basically do it so it's like the final episode, see David Banner get caught by Jack McGee and find a cure for turning into the creature. KJ had nothing to do with the final TV movie, I'd like to see how he would've ended it...
