I seem to remember that it was essentially a test run to convince Tharg that Halo Jones was a winner. To paraphrase the quote from T.P.O. from memory Ian Gibson saud "It was a tester to see if I could draw women. I could."

It seems extraordinarily weird now to think that anyone ever doubted his ability to draw women, of all things. What I wouldn't give for a Gibson woman in my life...

Yes it was the two part lead into Halo Jones that was censored at the time as he had to add towels over naked bums (the horror of it!). The original artwork is still superb after all this time!
