This has been advertised for months & still hasn't been published.

Any idea when it's supposed to arrive?

There is nothing new under the sun. A truism about cliches.

+++It's just a rip-off of that old joke - the one whose punchline is "When the cops smell your fingers, you'll get five years". Misogynistic AND unoriginal.

Your point?

***Fair enough, it's only my opinion***

I don't disagree with your supposition that comics are tailored toward the trade paperback market. I agree with that idea. I was saying that, if you take 2000AD as a model, anthologies do not or don't have to lack the page count required for trade collections, as 4 weekly issues of 2000AD a month would equal 4 or 5 separate monthly US style comics.

***I'd argue that anthologies 'don't work' because they have too short a page-count to collect into trade collections, which is pretty much what all monthly comics are tailored towards these days. Marvel especially have given up on self-contained monthly stories in ongoing books. ***

I don't agree, I think that's a misconception.

Doesn't the page count work out the same though, 4 weekly issues of 2000AD is the equivalent of 4 or 5 separate monthly comics depending on the stories. Since every story in tooth is around 6 pages every week, that amounts to 24 pages for each story every month, which is the same amount of pages in a monthly comic.

2000AD ends up with the same amount of story as 4 or 5 separate monthly titles.

It only means we'll have more years of the odiously embarassing Barrymore giving puffyfaced interviews and looking bewildered.
