I had a great weekend and got a nice Greg Staples Anderson sketch.

They organised the Stan Lee mass signings better than any other con I've seen which made me forgive them for taking 45 mins to get in originally.

Some small 2000ad snippets:

Edmund Bagwell has a Cadet Anderson cover coming up
Jock's storyboards were quite loose for them film so he's drawing the movie adaptation from scratch - whilst very tight-lipped you can tell he wants this to be a huge success
Nikolai Dante is over but another story from the Universe might be possible - great if it keep Simon Fraser in the comic

It was a con to get loads of signatures but a single 'name' sketch at most. Wonder how they'll top Stan Lee!?

Books & Comics / Re: US-sized comic "binders"?

Can I have a bookbinding link too?
My guy was £25 but retired and the nearest I've seen is £38

Grant Morrison always claimed Zenith was 'sampled' and Book 1 was too heavily influenced by Marvelman. But I think this is him just being disarming and modest.

Alan Moore never liked Arkham Asylum and had been instrumental in Grant not getting a MM short story in Warrior.

I think they are just chalk vs cheese. Smooth vs Beardy. Punk vs Hippy.

If anyone influenced Zenith it was Pete Milligans hero who I can't remember drawn by Brendan.

Is it going under the banner BEFORE THE LEAGUE?

I love Alan Moore cos lets be honest, the best of everybody else's work combined only just matches what he did on his own.

And it's frankly brilliant for Kev ONeil. I wish them well. There's some more Steve Parkhouse due as well isn't there? That's the other thing Alan never forgets.

Here's a dedicated list of every Marvel announcement so far

http://slovobooks.blogspot.com/

it's still no real news. I'm still convinced that they will re-draw every logo as it still hasn't appeared in any new images so clearly Todd bought something in the garage sale.

I have got the HB Image book where he brought him back as Man of Miracles!

what do you think? £25?

And is it only me who thinks its a bit... rich to charge for autographs?

Help! / Re: Doomlord - eagle - Alan grant

I've read the end now.

IS MANKIND TO BE MY FRIEND... OR MY SUSTINENCE?

With the remaining second Enok grinning showing his vampiric fangs.

Crushingly Max doesn't even give Doomlord a send off in his final issue - no mention in the editorial because... Yes next week Classic Doomlord reprints begin.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks all.

There is a lot of Doomlord love (and fear)
I'd love to buy the mask. I know it also appeared in a Madness video

Help! / Doomlord - eagle - Alan grant
15 January, 2012, 10:44:29 PM
Hi guys
Anyone know the last issue of Eagle that new episodes of doomlord appeared in?
Did it have an end worth collecting?

Some issues of eagle didn't have it so any list would be good. Wikipedia can't help!

I think the 'over 15' line is common to all the books - its not really appropriate here but the Iron Man story Extremis merits it.

I got no reply asking from Hachette for a list of all titles!

I think these books look great and the endpapers are a lovely touch

Help! / Why isn't judge Anderson in day of chaos?

I've tried to get a definitive answer - was she divvied up to Alan Grant so excluded from John wagner stories?

She was in doomsday for dredd - was that the last time john Wagner wrote her in a story?

Does seem odd considering it's all revolving around an uncanny precog!

We've moved to Milton Keynes and the library is amazingly well stocked with Nikolai Dante.
I've been back on the prog since 1550 but if I'm honest Dante felt like I'd just arrived too late.

But read from the start over the 8 graphic novels these were my thoughts

1) What an amazing debut - brilliantly imagined world
2) Clearly this strip must have been the most consistently good thing in the prog for 700 issues - it shines
3) Didn't think I'd like John Burns but his war/pirate/kids own adventure stuff is amazing
4) Simon Fraser's women rival Manara's
5) Now I've got to go back and read the last 100 progs again

I did read them over a couple of weeks - I'll never have it this good again - what a rush!

Thanks for the kind words. I had to get a few made to pass the bookbinders minimum order.
I'm keeping my personal one with sketches in which you might have seen me filling at cons.

At this point in my life I can't justify keeping stuff in triplicate.

Now if only I had a 'Cellar of Zenith'...
