I coldn't let it pass, so ran after him and said 'Excuse me, are you Gary Moore?'  (stupidest question ever - it most definitely was)

My answer was a surly 'No'.  He carried on walking.

Had a similar encounter with John Peel at Glastonbury walking along the old railway track for those that know the site.

Me to friends all a little elevated "Oh cool look there's John Peel" as John Peel walks past.

John Peel "No it isn't"

The thing is it was, funny he should get it wrong. Its as though he didn't want to chat to yet more wasted ne'er-do-wells.

Wow that's just great news, great news.

Shame the negative spin prize has gone I hang around enough comic based internet sites that this would have been second nature to me. A few examples would have been.

1) Oh great so I've been buying this for years and now Me Me I Me might not get a copy of the first print, how is that fair on me me I me

2) Hold on I subscribe I hope to God me me I me gets both copies

3) What have they under-printed for don't they trust their own hype but we we us we are meant to BASTARDS

4) Oh they will have just done a short print run so they can sell out and get the publicity from that

5) Oh great so we have a launch Prog that newbies won't be able to get hold of, well done Tharg

Hold on. Loads of cool multi-national, multi-rank multi-media judges, a super-villain and a man in a flat cap and shades...

Reminds me of this

Scott McCloud, Jeff Smith, Ryan Hughes and Dave Gibbons.

Bloody hell Scott McCloud and Jeff Smith... oh man wish I could make this two of my favourites there.

Edit: And Gail Simone... well, well well.

Personally I thought the 3hriller could be treated as the prequel to a longer story

I think this is the case with many of the 3rillers. The format size gives just enough time to do a bit of world building and very often I'm left wanting to find out more about it.

It's almost like the 3rillers are 2000AD's equivalent of Comedy Playhouse a long-running anthology series on the BBC several episodes of which become long-running sitcoms

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comedy_Playhouse

Yeah I'm a little surprised that we've not seen any of several 3rillers elevated to an ongoing series, in the way Dandridge did from a Future Shock. Some of them have seemed ripe for that and I always thought the series was a bit like a TV pilot episode.

My Mum beats you all (arh Roger we miss you) in real famous people stakes. In the mid sixities She was once waving at her friends across the road by Foxes in Heswall... you all remember Foxes right the old hardware store, opposite what was to become the library, yeah by the traffic lights... anyway she walked into someone as she wasn't looking and was knocked off her feet. My mum was dead embarrassed and a bit flustered but the bloke who picked her up and told her not to worry. Anyway Mum scarpered across the road (60s in Heswell you know there was probably just The Rocket and a horse drawn cart using said road) to her speechless friends who stood dumbly pointing at the man who had helped Mum up (she was called mum then but Annette or something) walking away from there lives.

Turns out Paul McCartney was visiting family and is a very polite chap who helps stricken women to their feet. Mum of course to this day has never forgiven herself for no realising who it was.

To fill in the gaps, agree with just about everyone on the Terror Tale art... Very fine.
Shame about the script, is all.

Hey all, I wanted to come (needlessly, I'm sure) to kek-w's defence. I've seen a lot of praise about the art (thank you) and criticism about the story - BUT what most are missing, I think, is that it's my storytelling that's turned up short here. I thought it was a great little short horror story, but I don't think I sold what was happening as well as I could have (there were narrative tricks required that I've never managed to do well in the past).

The gloss and glamour of the rendering (which I'm pleased you all liked) has for better or worse - hidden some of my mistakes and made them appear to be kek-w's.

I'll try and not let that happen again...

Where's that trophy for 'Nicest man in comics'? I think PJ needs it back...

That goes hurtling past good, heads with neck breaking speed beyond great, swings right at astonishing and brushes past wonderazingible and other made up superlatives with ease and heads to some new land of glory that we mere morals will only ever witness second hand through the prism of works like that.

If that doesn't make any sense in summary I like it quite a bit!

I've also been invited to (and attended) two hen does in my time... it will surprise no one whose met me that was as member of the party and not as entertainment... well aside from how awkward I looked to start off with!

Well here is you're chance. If anybody was paying attention to my thread wittering on about creating a man cave you will know that I was heart broken to discover I had to HAD TO sell my collection of Ka-Zar (and related) comics.

So if you want to contribute to the emotional turmoil I am currently going through and pick up some lovely comics about a blonde Tarzan fighting dinosaurs with his trusty sabretooth cat sidekick there you have only a day left to bid on the items here.

Come on a know there's a few of you out there that want to make me cry and kick me when I'm down...

There's some interesting and great strips chosen there.

Nice one - looking forward to seeing this. Even though I have the stories and don't normally buy reprints since I've bitched and moaned about the cramped size in the other IDW reproductions feel I should support this one!

Liked the end to the weeks Dredd but couldnt help but be disappointed that we didnt see Dredd go through some kind of recovery after a real pasting on Titan.

The trouble is if you do this after half the stories you'd end up with Dredd spending time in recovery. He gets a right old battering so often. Mind it could create a kinda of sub-genera within Dredd, playing the up tight patient, next to a newly qualified Nurse DeMarco in the Mega City One version of Carry on Matron.

I think it was too much this time and it would have been better to have a single follow-up episode that could have addressed them getting back and to show Hershey's reaction to the situation.  The straight jump from on-his arse on Titan to on duty in MC1 was odd.

...and may have been a timing thing. Wait until you get this weeks Prog!
