Yes, my wife and I made the outfit, for the Hi-Ex convention in Inverness in February. It was surprisingly easy to do, although a little time-consuming to cut up and draw on felt to make the pads, etc.
Weirdly, one of the hardest things was finding a black long-sleeved top for a small child. In the end I dyed a white one.

Great job - any chance of posting a bigger pic?

There's a few on the Hi Ex website

I feel so bad about not voting for the ones I missed out. Here's a snap three then before I change my mind again:

1: Crave Noir's Eagle cover - Beautiful painting and it just feels right.
2: DaBhuna's 'days of future past' pastiche - one of my favourite Marvel comics superbly recreated for Dredd.
3. Gotta be one of Uncle Fester's, but which one? Finally plumped for 02, the Madness/Cursed Earth cover

HM to JohnnyStress for some inspired image-nicking and photoshpoppery on Judge Deed. (I always do a double-take when I see this in the TV listings thinking it's Dredd!)

Prog / Re: PROG 1646 - Off With Their Heads!

Another decent prog, but they won't get back to full thrill-levels (for my tastes) until Defoe and Red Seas have finished

I think the amount of white space on the cover makes the image all the more striking. Like it a lot.

I don't think this one of Al's best Dredds  - the scientific gubbins on page one was unnecessary and nonsensical - anthropic readings?. The central idea of an alternative "social-workerish" mega city is a good one, but could have been done in a one-off - it's an idea that the more you think about it, the less it stands up. Very nice art though.

Red Seas seems to be mirroring Defoe at the moment - Isaac Newton, anachronistic clockwork robots etc. I much prefer both the artwork and the story in the former. I've finally put my finger on what a lot of Pat Mills stories remind me of. Did you ever invent your own comics as a kid? Did you spend ages creating characters, designing weapons and vehicles, drawing uniforms and thinking of names and gimmicks, but then never actually get around to writing any actual stories? I certainly did, and I think Pat's doing the same. Loads of great inventive ideas but they feel like they're just shovelled in by the bucket-load with the flimsiest of plotlines to hang them on.

I didn't get the twist in the Future Shock till the final panel, which is how it should be. Well done Micahel (sic)  ::). John Cooper's style will never have me doing cartwheels, but he gets the job done.

Sinister Dexter
continues to thrill, all that slow build up is finally paying off. Abnett's delight in wordplay is a joy to behold, especially the next prog teaser "
rush from her with love
"

And you're still allowed in the house? I'd expect you to be sleeping in the shed for that one!  ;D

Quote from: mygrimmbrother on 24 July, 2009, 09:20:11 PMI was tempted by the Robos but I had just earlier checked the 'coming soon' section on the book list and saw the thumbnail for the forthcoming robo hunter phonebook (out december), so I think i'll wait for that.

I thought Robohunter went drastically downhill after Verdus. Day of the Droids was okay, but everything from the move to Brit-cit onwards just really hacked me off. It was just silly without being funny - that world cup one was shite. I didn't much care for the resurrected Samantha version either - is this finally over or are we going to have any more inflicted on us?

And I've also just checked out some of the most popular threads from before I joined - That Necronauts one had me completely baffled, but I guess it's some kind of game, as is the come and fight zombies one - These were certainly very popular - has this "shared experience" gaming being rendered obsolete by consoles with online capability?

The male to female ratio is declining! It was 66:1 a few days ago and now it's up to 68:1

Encouraging though that the membership is growing to the tune of 8.93 people a day - ah, I was once that 0.93 of a person!

I recently found my old traveller books that had been in the loft for twenty odd years (minus book 2 - wonder who I lent that to...GRRRR!) along with my own Strontium Dog adaptation - no £25 sourcebooks here, just three pages bashed out on old manual typewriter!

I disagree - it was great fun for a while, especially on a nostalgia level, but I feel it's outstayed it's welcome a bit. Give it a rest for a while - there must be other funny strips about?

You're all wrong!

It's
David's Dad
That was my guess too!

Or possibly
that actor simon, who went along with the plan too easily and smirked knowingly as they left
...

And besides, it can't be the
matron/nurse because she's the one they all killed isn't she?
It's alittle staggered, but with the exception of William Pertwee, Colin Baker, and Chrispher Eccleston they are all slightly younger than the Doctor before them.

;D  Easy mistake, thryllseeker but just to be sure:

He was older than that, surely?

Born 1943, so that'd make him 44
