Same boat.  Not seen the last series yet.  Not sure what to make of the new direction.  As for the rest of the new cast .... Well , no-one I recognise.  By the time this gets round to airing I may have finally watched the last season.  Certainly will give it a go to see what they've done.

Because 2003 TMNT fans are the absolute worst.
You clearly have no idea what are you talking about.  ;)

Think that's bad, have a go at X-men continuity and see what happens?  Teddy Bears, Pram, Ballistics?

If it's going to be 10 volumes of Dredd's great mistakes, aye!  Granted there have only been a couple of volumes that fit into this; Most of Cursed Earth Carnage, Calhab Justice, Independent operators, Inferno, but then no Robot Wars?  Captain Skank?  Kennedy's run of the mid 400's?

If this is just an exercise, as IndigoPrime suggests, in fleecing then it would be a shame.

Covers of Pussyfoot 5.  I think that's Raynor's art.  Yeowell did some of the art on the series IIRC but not all of it.

<rant> Bigger question is 'why'?  It's a stretch to consider P5 Dreddworld, it didn't last that long and to be frank there was a reason for it.  I'm with aleardsnazz, stuff like the Stupid Gun makes a hell of a lot more sense.  As does the DNA man.  There's quite a bit that could be cheerfully used instead.  If filler like this is being churned out then why extend by 10 volumes? </rant>   :o

Sorry, the spinner or the signed progs?  Former; aye, I'd be surprised.  It's been there for a while.  The progs?  Fairly close to the average price although there are some crazy prices being asked.  A copy of the first Dredd annual signed by all contributors?  Asking price of £800.  Granted the signatories include Ron Smith but I doubt very much it will get even close.  Aja variant 40th Anniversary special signed just by Wagner; £40?  Been there for a while.  There's another tooth signed annual that started at £200 and is slowly working down, currently at £75.

Scalpers seem to have woken to the value of signed editions but then taken it to daft levels.  At least Eamonn starts with a very reasonable amount and lets the market take it where it needs.  The fact that it's for charity may be a factor though.

Hmmm.  Just stumbled across this little item. It rang a few bells because I remember Eammonn having listed a pair of Edington / Disraeli signed progs but I already had one of them so let it pass.  Am I being a little suspicious here about the seeming coincidence and the ethics of possibly profiting from a charity sale?

... and don't get me started on the guy trying to sell an alleged space spinner from prog 1.  The fact that it is red and round is about the only thing going for it!

Mind you, the writer reckons she only gets by with one small cup of coffee a day and they also reckon the world's not going to end so perhaps that's just another example of 'fake news'.

McMahon back on Dredd, too!  Happy times.

Say whaaaaat?! Can't wait!  :D

Yep.  Think there were a couple of other strips but I completely taken in by that.  Nice little one off but the maestro is back and at the top of his game.  Worth the cover price for this strip alone.

Ah Bear, your Trek musings do make my mornings pass more easily.

What, even more than Alpen?

TBH I have actually avoided all the promo material.

True, this is why I am a bit conflicted in this regard.  Would a heterosexual couple acting in the same way have had the same affect on me?  I'd already figured out Stamets' orientation from his interaction with his old research partner so it wasn't much of a revelation.  Am I being unfair to the characterisation here?  Maybe.  As I say, it just jarred a little.  Sorry.

If the scene had been with Keiko and O'Brien, would you have asked the same question?

You know what, I'm not sure.  Maybe this is part of what bothered me about this.  In terms of Keiko and O'Brien, one of the partners is a civvy so arguably it might have been in character.  I guess what I'm saying is for me it did the characters a bit of a disservice.

I've been enjoying it so far, such as it is.  For me, Star Trek has always been something enjoyable to watch but it has always had flaws.  As with all series, it is still trying to find its inner core, so I'm willing to give it time.

But ....

... and I want to be incredibly careful here because I appreciate that I'm about to tread on sensitive territory.  The scene with the Doctor Kulber and Stamets had me cringing.  I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was about it that bothered me.  I get that they are in a relationship but something about that moment set me off.

Then it clicked, it just seemed so 'twee' for want of a better word.  Now I'm quite happy to be set straight on this but did the relationship have to be portrayed in that manner?  It almost came across to me as a caricature.  The doctor's concern and irritation at Stamet's decision could just as easily have been portrayed as normal officerly concern and their relationship still made clear without representing him the way it seemed to to me.  No?
