Film & TV / Re: New Hellboy Film.

Has there ever been a less successful but somehow continuing movie franchise than the Hellboy movies?

The first Del Toro movie wasn't very successful, and it took four years and a change of studio to somehow do the second one. Which was even less of a success

The Neil Marshall 2019 reboot was an all-round disaster, but here we are again with a fourth stab at an IP that's never made any money as a movie.

Maybe there's hope for Dredd yet.

Good of him to immediately make a private and confidential email public.

How you've added up the points:

Just counted any mention of a story as 1 point, regardless of whether the person voted it 1st, 2nd or 3rd.

How you're supposed to do it:

1st = 3 points
2nd = 2 points
3rd = 1 point.

So Babel, which 4 people voted as first choice, is the clear winner, with a minimum of 12 points.

What's Gibbo like, putting out an autobiography with a professionally designed cover using an original piece of his own art on it, featuring iconic characters he's created or worked on?

Didn't he see how Brian Bolland was doing it?

I've always found that "bigger than Bowie!" line somewhat suspicious.  I mean, did Bowie even do any signings at that store?

And now that I know it came from arch-bullshitter Igor Goldkind....

Bowie defo did signing at the London Virgin Megastore, though can't speak to the timing. The bigger factor, if it was 1988, wouldn't that have been during his Tin Machine phase, which may explain a lot!

Arf!  I did think to myself "...but, you know, if it had been a signing for a Tin Machine album..."

The grandly-titled Dan Dare Corporation don't even do anything with the Dan Dare rights - it's basically a retired film producer sitting on them on the ever-diminishing chance they might be worth something one day - so the chances of them doing anything with Doomlord seem negligible.

Still sticking with the 'four different fonts choices for five lines of text' thing, though.

This is local parish newsletter level stuff, not something you'd associate with a too visual arts professional.

I think Bisley only did 2 episodes

And took about 4 years to do them.

Impressive stuff.

short lived? so he stopped? (i kinda stopped following his twitter it got depressing)

They've apparently been quietly removed from sale. I've been told by someone who kept watch that  he didn't sell a single one.

So that was well worth trashing your reputation for, and needlessly picking a huge fight with your own fanbase over.

Any chance the new book will give us the lowdown on his short-lived foray into the fascinating world of NFT chump-scamming?

QuoteSlightly less unlikely, it could have taken place after the assassination run, with Dredd getting out of Med Bay, putting on a clean uniform, linking up with the cadets, and then changing back into his ragged bullet-holed gear before winning the war.
I'm not sure a jury would buy it either way.

Presumably Dredd also travels years into the future first, to bring back the next-gen Lawgivers he and the cadets are using in Citadel.
