Prog / Re: Prog 1775: The Zaucer of Zilk

Dredd - as strong as it has ever been. Superb in almost every way.

AotWolf - Liking this more than the original tale now that it has moved on and evolved. I just hope it doesn't degenerate into just overly long fights with wolves (or even the various gangs).

Dante - A fitting end to a true saga of quality, even if it all reeks of tying up loose ends and is a little 'by the numbers'.

Zilk - The jury is well and truly out on this, not because I'm unsure as much as I'm prepared to give it a few more episodes to develop and not to simply cast it down immediately. This first episode did nothing for me however and I fear it to be a very old fashioned and messy attempt at forced surrealism/ fantasy.

Flesh - Like many on here I think the art is getting better and actually has something going for it but the story is dull as toilet water. Lots of over the top and thoroughly nasty characters mixed with massive stampedes/ violence. Each episode feels the same as the last (I'm judging a little by the previous story here I admit).

Awsome spot. 9 times out of 10 these mistakes don't get honoured but you never know... occasionally one slips through.

I only had a quick go last night but it seems that agility it pretty important here (at least with that first intro boss).

Occasional didgy framerate aside this oozes greatness. Unforgiving greatness.

Just played the demo (on xbox live) - pretty good. I await for reviews for info on game length and whether it holds up to further play but the demo is worthy of a blast at least.

Demo footage (not me/my voice!).

This looks promising.

Awsome show.

Sad about it's lack of airtime in the UK (dunno about paid for TV as I don't 'buy' into that but the first 2 seasons did appear on a channel 5 digital station 2 years ago).

Happy that they have announced a 5th and final season meaning that there will be more of this and it will get a proper conclusion.

I have this and it is a blast (360 version). Dumb but fun. It is especially good online but suffers from limited matchmaking options so that playing with randoms can be a really imbalanced experience. I've got two more missions on chapter 3 to do but that is just the start, levelling a character up to 8 will takes eons.

It didn't sperise me at all though.

On a similar note (maybe not), I'm currently addicted to Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. Very cartoony in that Japanese way but the fighting is more like a puzzle game. Turn based, line up 3 units for attacking/defending, link attack units etc etc. Apparently it's like Final Fantasy Tactics if you've seen that. In any case I'm thoroughly hooked cos of the fights. Demo/game on 360 and PS3. Oh and the DS, for those of you that way inclined  ;)

Great game - I've clocked up 20 hours and still have one of the 5 main campaigns to do. Multiplayer is fun also (xbla). The puzzle mechanics work brilliantly.

Dredd: This is one of those stories that reeks of exposition - PJ has to escape in order to get down to some nitty gritty, but its being handled superbly and I can never stop stating how much I love MacNeil's art whether fully painted or not. I agree with the statement that PJ has become the greatest nemesis of all time, he's quirky and uses nouse and guile rather than pure brawn and as such he is a really versatile character that has been handled well since day one. Be careful with him, don't overuse him.

Also, Dredd said sorry for asking critical questions and doing his job..... hmmm I don't mind that character wise at all but it did seem noteable.

T-shirt advert: £20! and its not even the design thats been promised to existing subscribers for a year now. 'Streety' doesn't rhyme with 'largey' very well  :D

SinDex: Was fine, but strips that are esentially a big fight like this one get old fast. I'm thinking its about time these characters got retired from the prog..... They have had long enough to try to go somewhere beyond having an incredible ability to dodge bullets.

Savage: Very nice, both script and art. I look forward to the next part of what is building into a great story.

3rillers: Bit suprised by how much the story moved on, it almost felt like a different tale entirely to episode 1, almost. I enjoyed it though but worry that wrapping all that up in one 5 pager next week might get fluffed, but I won't second guess and await patiently.

Zombo: Pretty good all round. Some of the humour was a bit obvious, some was spot on. Zombo is on form in this tale.
