I'm not quite sure what gave away the spies in "Savage". Did the chap do the dance wrong?

Yeah must admit I just assumed they got the lyrics wrong. It was a good bit of writing I thought though, as it was only when I got to the end I thought, hold on a minute...

When actually reading it it was perfectly clear that something the song and the dance was wonky even though I didn't quite get the specifics it didn't matter.

I thought he was just suspicious of them and it was only when they swore in Volg when punched that they were actually given away. The punch was the final test when they were relaxed.

I am convinced that I have played through Manhunt 2 across 5 different formats at least 1000 times. That is a conservative estimate.

Truly awful game. Desperately bad. It didn't turn me into a psycho, just contributed towards my hate of the games industry.

It finally arrived!!

Strong prog (not least because there was no Red Seas  :-X)

PJ maybe's start handled the obligatory exposition with enough pace and freshness to make it very promising.

SinDex has never really floated my catamaran but this one was okay - probably the weakest of the 5 strips but still not bad.

3rillers, was very well written and I'm glad its taking the future shock idea and letting it breath a little.

Over the years Savage has really won me round and this one promises to continue that upwards trend.

I enjoyed both Zombo tales in the past, although I do feel they have got a little messy in places and push the boundary between absurdity and nonsense a little to forcefully, but the first episode of this one was great - very funny dialogue with the Donald Trump pres character. Fingers crossed it won't descend into too much of a whirling malaise of lazy violence..... fingers crossed.

No real problem with the forum switch over - handled smoothly as far as I can see and for very good reasons.

The only disappointment is how generic it looks. Thrill suckers come in digital form it would seem.

Eurogamer just gave this 3 out of 10    :o

Stunning considering the usual love in with the development studio.

I think you needed to have a psp account set up before the hack happened.

Old style psps should work though, just download to your memory card.

There are currently 3 (somewhat dodgy) films for free rental and Ive heard that they will not be available after the weekend - all in the video section of the store incase anyone has missed that.

Final Fantasy: Spirits Within
Resident Evil: Degeneration
House of the Dead 2

queue 'em up and you get 30 days to watch them and 48 hours after they are first played

having already played all of the free games (and therefore getting nothing out of sony as a 'welcome back' gift) I'd say that you should go for the genres you prefer as they are all good in their own way.

LBP is an awsome creative tool and platformer (check out my creation 'mosaic' if you get this one) 9/10

Wipeout is a truly brilliant arcade racer (it will melt your brain with speed) 9/10

Ratchet and clank is full of charm and vibrancy although it is quite short compared to its retail release brothers (this was mainly a download only game although you can get disc copies in rare places) - it will probably last 6-8 fun hours 8/10

Infamous - think GTA with comic hero super powers. Its a really enjoyable if rather prosaic tale, the clambering and climbing is brilliantly intuitive and the combat is decent. 8/10

dead nation - the lightest offering, lots of atmosphere. 7/10

If I didnt already have these and with hindsight I think I would go LBP and Wipeout.

There may be demos of some of these you can try first anyway, infamous has one (and the new infamous 2 withis a prettier but very similar demo) - not sure of the others.

This game is technically great, smooth as butter (on ps3 at least) and obviously gorgeous. I just wish it wasn't so damn boring. I've played about 4 full cases (after the tutorials and once you get a 'desk' job) so it may get more interesting after that but I'm really disappointed. I saw this game in development about 18 months ago (I used to work for rockstar, albeit never on this title) and it held a lot of potential back then and I've been very interested to see how it all eventually came together.

Glad I didn't pay for it!

It isn't terrible by any stretch of the imagination but it just feels like such a chore to play, a beautifully detailed and (for a game) well written chore - and its not the relative lack of action that bothers me, its the simplicity of the sleuthing and the pace of the clue gathering.

Take all this with a pinch of salt, I think I'm going off games altogether (until Disgaea 4 comes out that is).

Help! / Re: Internet Explorer 9

Is there much difference in layout between IE8 and IE9? And if i go with the upgrade will it keep my current favs list without me having to save them first?

It keeps your list but it shifts it to the right hand side of the browser - you get used to it pretty quickly. That is  the only significant layout change apart from another baby step towards minimalism.

It has a few other little annoyances though - the way downloads are handled now is meant to be cleaner as they all appear in one list and can be paused but I dont like it much. There is also a speed advisor wizard which reccomends plug ins to shut down when explorer takes more than fraction of a second to load (because we have all become impatient and petulant children thanks to the net), however, if you boot explorer as soon as you boot your PC it will naturally take a bit longer due to background processes being loaded up and then will ALWAYS pop up the advisor with suprious times and delays (i.e. telling me that my printer control center slows it by 4 seconds is only true when the PC itself is still getting going).

On the NHS debate I've half read in this thread, this seems relevant, amusing, and has a modicum of information too, even if the style is not to everyone's taste.

According to one of the comments its current at 64 in the charts - would be funny if it went top twenty.

hopefully not already posted.
