Suggestions / Re: Long Dredd epic please...........

Yup I'm really up for a new Dredd epic too.

I absolutely loved seeing Total War again and hope that John Wagner is sowing the seeds for something big. Can't wait to see what he has in store for Rico, Doleman and the other clones too.

That's the beauty of following Dredd under the guidance of Wagner, he has plot threads dangling that you're just waiting to be resolved. Long may I be a 2000ad reader!

My fave Dredd moment was in a Daily Star Dredd when he was arresting an aristocrat who had parked his car on top of a vagrant. The upper class twit is protesting and says something along the lines of "You can't do this to me, I have blue blood..."

Dredd smacks him in the nose, states that "It looks pretty red to me, creep" and gives him an extra six months for lying to a Judge.

Class!

Yay! - Bring back Crustacia!

A couple of my thoughts:

Loved the cover, Dylans Dredd is always cool.

Dredd - Aaaagh! The bit where Dredd arrests the citizen who'd reported the crime for tampering with the crime scene. I HATE it when writers potray Dredd as harshly as this; Dredd has developed more as a character over the years and I really feel he wouldn't do this these days. It's like something Mark Millar would have written, I expect better from Alan Grant of all people.

Is it just me or do others agree?

I'm playing it at the moment and am really enjoying it. It is a little samey and gameplay-wise, quite retro but the atmosphere and jump out of your seat shocks make up for it.

Buy it folks!

I've just come back from a lovely holiday in America where one of my many highlights was Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park.

One of the themed areas in the park was called 'Marvel Super Hero Island' and you guessed it - featured many rides and attractions all about bloody Marvel Superheroes! The Hulk rollercoaster was amazing and the 3D Spiderman ride has to be experienced to be believed! I can only imagine what kind of kick Marvel comics fans get when they visit here.

As a massive 2000ad fan I was as jealous as hell, wandering around imagining how cool a Dredd Rollercoaster would be (on Lawmasters!), dreaming up Strontium Shoot em up rides and a scary Cab Inc ghost train.

What would you lot like to see in a 2000ad theme park?

I want to buy a new PC base unit which I has to be shitty hot enough to cope with the up and coming games (Doom 3, Half Life 2 etc.) and will let me do a bit of very basic video editing. I've been chugging around the net for yonks and have just ended up frustrated!

I'm looking to spend up to ?1000, but the cheaper the better! Can any of you loverly people help me?
