Hi,
I need to add a credit to something for the comic version of the Lawgiver Mark 2.

Does anyone know who originally designed it?

Was it the artist who drew its first appearance? Or was it predesigned by another artist?

I've already checked the WIKI entry and I'll use who they say, unless someone here knows better?

Events / Sci-Fi Scarborough 5th - 6th April
04 April, 2014, 12:07:30 PM
I couldn't find a thread for this in the event section. Sorry if I missed it.

It's this weekend, is any going to this?

Myself, Steve Green and Integra Fairbrook (Judge Anderson) will be there on Saturday to help support their screening of Judge Minty.

We'll be doing a quick Q&A afterwards for anyone who we haven't bored silly going on about Minty.

However something more fun - I'm bring a costume and for a few hours on the Saturday, we will be letting people try it on to take a few snaps (like we are doing for Lawgiver). And of course Anderson will be on patrol.

Just received this scan of my commission by legend David McKee!

For me personally, this is the ultimate 'mash up'.

I like Judge Dredd, I like Mr Benn, I like costuming, I like commissions!

The 'Shorts Block 2' event is listed as 'OPEN SEATING' which I think means you can't reserve seats? I'm a little confused about the details, so if I find anything else out I will post it here.

Events / Judge Minty at Glasgow Film Festival Feb 19th
17 January, 2013, 11:33:58 AM
I hope people don't mind me posting these as separate events rather than all in one thread. They're on different dates at different locations, so if I put them all together, any new ones I add might get lost.

We are proud to announce the Judge Minty will be screening at the Glasgow Film Festival.

Tuesday the 19th of February at 18:30

http://www.glasgowfilm.org/festival/whats_on/4788_making_a_fan_film

It will be followed by a discussion regards fan film making. The programme says 'led by Steven Sterlacchini', but anyone who has seen me attempt public speaking will be relieved, that I will only be a part of the discussion, not leading it. Hopefully another member of Team Minty might be able to make it as well.

I've had a quick look through the rest of the programme and there are some amazing films being shown, so we are honoured that they have found a place for us. During the festival Dredd is also being screened and a discussion with John Wagner and Colin MacNeil!

As always, thanks to Rebellion for giving permission for this public screening.

General / Judge Dredd work out in Men's Health Magazine

Obviously someone posted this on Facebook rather than me reading it in the Magazine.

General / Dredd Section on the Replica Prop Forum
16 January, 2013, 06:53:35 PM
If this has been mentioned somewhere else, please delete. I've had a quick look and couldn't see anything.

I've just seen on the RPF (Replica Prop Forum) that they've started a Dredd Section. Anyone who is aware of the RPF will realise that it's a pretty big deal. The RPF is the world's biggest online community for prop & model collectors and makers.

The fact that they've decided to create a Dredd section - NOT and Iron Man section - NOT a Batman section - NOT even a Star Wars section, shows how much of an impact the Dredd film has had.

There are some amazingly talented people on the forum including lots of professional prop makers. Expect to see lots more Judges on patrol.

General / A few 'new' Judge Minty stills
24 December, 2012, 10:09:09 PM
A few people on the Judge Minty facebook groups had been asking to see some new stills of stuff not seen in the 'WIP teaser trailer'.

So I've had a scan through the film to find some which I don't think give anything away.

For anyone who missed it at Thought Bubble, Joe Dredd won the aptly named 'Judges Choice' award in the Cosplay competition.

Look out! He's coming out of the shadows to get you Lawbreaker!!!

General / 2000AD commission mash ups
02 September, 2012, 08:32:54 PM
I'm always interested to see peoples commissions from 2000AD artists that are 'mash ups'* with different comic book characters etc.

*I believe that's what the kids call them.

I'll start the ball rolling. Shadow the Hedgehog as a Judge by Nigel Dobbyn. You can just see Sonic mocking him 'Chopper Style' high in the sky.

Into control and order, often seen toting a large pistol. Sometimes a bad guy, but often good, it made sense (to me) to turn him into a Judge.

I've just finished my son's costume for this year's Thought Bubble.

It's been created using a prototype of the Planet Replicas helmet (small size). And a Planet Replicas buckle, pouch emblems and an early prototype badge.

Everything else is either a modified 'found item' or scratch built.

I've tried to stick as close to the Planet Replicas official design as possible.

General / What's Tom Taylor doing for 2000AD then?
21 October, 2011, 01:16:58 PM
Writer Tom Taylor has mentioned on Facebook that he's been given permission to say he's doing something for 2000AD, but obviously not what it is.

Any hints from 2000AD?

I've really enjoyed his Star Wars work, especially on 'Blood Ties' - 'on character', clever, with nice depth and subtle humour - should go well with 2000AD.

General / Interesting Dredd Graffiti
26 July, 2011, 12:44:54 PM
I spotted this image whilst web browsing.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/battyrat1/5971137103/

Apparently it's in Trowbridge.

Based on the Eagle Comic Reprints front cover issue 13 by Mick McMahon.

I'm sure 'Commando Forces' or 'The Return of Judge Jack" could some how remove that wall for their collections. ;)

General / Hive mind help.
11 July, 2011, 02:23:28 PM
I was trying to find an image, but I can't see it any where.

I think it was a Steven Dillion piece, which I thought was a fold out (front and back) cover, though I can't find it. It may simply of been a pin up?

On the front Judge Anderson stands smiling at a perp in a sexy way, the perp smiles back, but has a baseball bat or something behind his back. The strapline is something like "the justice department loves you", but probably not that.

On the Back, Dredd has the same perp by the scruff of the neck, as if he's pulled him from the front cover. The strapline is something like "You're breaking my heart creep", but probably not that.

All characters are shown in full and I think are on a white background.

The thing I wanted this for is past now, but it's driving me MAD!

Help.
