Lovely cover by John Higgins - one to get signed at Lawgiver 4

Dredd vs Razorjack. Feels like Dredd coming up against an Iain M Banks novel. Nice to see the taking a team through the portal story. Carroll, Higgins and Sally Hurst on the covers. Good stuff

The Returners. Enjoyed this as well. Reminds me of a bunch of other things including the terifying Invunche.

Chopper. Looks gorgeous but I haven't taken in all the story yet.

Cursed Earth Koburn. Love it and bring me more please.

Dredd v Dead. The absoulte highlight of this Meg for me. Story is great, Flint's art superb and the finale is a shock. Shame that we won't be getting any more from the Dredd 3D version in the future.

Articles about the recent Dredd novels, and the new IDW series which seems to be going back to the 2012 movie storyline again (?) but I'll give it a go.

The floppy is Block Judge from progs 1900-1909. Wagner and Ezquerra proceedural with a Greg Staples cover, so nothing wrong here at all.

The floppy was a great surprise: a really strong story that I'd somehow forgotten most of (apart from the twist at the end, although that's telegraphed anyway). As for the rest, I've only so far read Koburn, which I'd be happy to see more of in this incarnation, and Dredd. The last of those I'm a bit torn on. It didn't end in the way I thought it would, but it was just as final. Seems a slightly odd way to draw a line under that version of Dredd, but there you go.

Personally I was also grateful for the quick text run down on Razorjack so that it made a bit more sense.  Not having read any of the earlier stuff, the one shot last month threw me a little.

Sad to see the back of 2012 movie world Dredd (for how long?)

Damn Block Judge was good.

The Meg was great, in fact.

I have every Prog and Meg. I still love the floppies. Why? Because I am lazy and like to be reminded of things I've forgotten over 40 years of tooth.

I got the impression that was the end of Movie Dredd. Is that confirmed?

All the official announcements have said it's the last one.

It ends for me in manner that
it can be the last or a start of something very interesting. Dredd is now in the other side
I was little disappointed in the way that Koburn ended. It does at least setup some interesting future developments.

Razorjack is just brilliant especially with the great art by Higgins.

The meg is in great form currently
When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

Good Meg, maybe not as good as last week however as it had a couple of ending that didn't quite land it.

Cursed Earth Koburn was okay, after an okay strip. It could have set up something interesting to come, or it could have just been underlining its point at the end only time will tell. The whole was okay, but just kinda there if I'm honest and the ending didn't change anything.

Movie Dredd tried so hard and really did its best, but it had a near impossible task. To end Dredd, without ending Dredd. And damn all involved did there damnest and it was pretty good. Alas it could live up to what it was building up, to what it had been putting all the pieces in place for. It'd set itself to be so bold and definative in the end. To do what regular Dredd just couldn't... and alas neither could this. So close, and pretty good... just of it could have been that little bit bolder!

The rest is pretty damned good. I'm enjoying the setup for a danger journey to come in Dredd vs Razorjack. Chopper is almost cliche in its McCarthy originality its crazy fun and seems to be building in a very interesting direction. Lovin' this.

But I absolutely adore Returners. Great characters, heigh adventure, tension. I care and I'm intrigued. Just brilliant. What a fresh enthralling new thrill. Can't wait to see where this goes.

All this some good text articles. But what the heck is the floppie doing? I mean its a good thrill but its very recent and surely this will be getting a trade release at some point... surely??? Just really interesting choice and there's no denying the floppy is stretching its format in all sorts of interesting ways.

I'm not crazy — that's an invunche in The Returners, isn't it?

Arh so one Google search later reveals they's the turny round head people in Moore's Swamp Thing. I didn't know they were called 'Invunche' I thought they were called 'The turny round head people from Moore's Swamp Thing'

Yeah I though it was the turny roun... I mean Invunche.

Well... they did exist in South American folklore before Alan Moore wrote his story in 1982/3 or so, but I get that you're saying most people here are probably familiar with the being from Swampy or Constantine.

Yes. Like Moore, I'd read 'In Patagonia' so I was familiar with 'em already. They did a really decent job (I thought) on the one that turned up in the short-lived Constantine TV series, too...

Yep, I was surprised and pleased to see the appearance in Constantine.  Like the early 1980s on screen :-)

The floppie with Bloc judge. Brilliant. Probably one of my absolute fav. Dredd stories. Love how packed each page is. Hard to put down :)

They should release it as an over sized hard cover. Would buy it in instance.

Agreed. Very disappointing to see this in a floppy: I'd been hoping for a collection with this and Ladykiller (at least). We get 'Every Empire Falls', but not first rate Wagner / Ezquerra?
