FP Glasgow had Bad Moon Rising and the ABC Warriors book a couple of weeks back. Haven't seen either in FP Edinburgh yet, but then that store still hasn't stocked my Doctor Who novel the BBC published back in March.

I'm about half way through Bad Moon and it's bloody great! MINOR SPOILER ALERT.....................

Its nice to see Lynn Miller (a judge from Bishop's Virgin novels) back, yay!

Well done Bish!

Pete.

Thanks. The Black Flame novels are unashamed pulp fiction - page-turning, rip-snorting, pedal to the metal yarns.

Couldn't resist bringing back Lynn, she was always a favourite of mine. She isn't in my next BF Dredd tome, Kingdom of the Blind.

Shako versus Sandman

Murderous polar bear shreds dreary lord of dreams, then loses in the next round against Swamp Thing.

"How is Rebellion going to avoid the blatant copyright infringement sequence in Red Razors where he encounters Scooby Doo and his gang?"

We would have got away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling ex-editors...  ("Fair use / satirical purposes only", is the answer) -

J-Bo-1

Good point. Well made. I'll shut my trap. ;-)

News / Re: GRAPHIC NOVEL NEWS

This annoucement is some welcome news. I went to the San Diego Comic Con in 1999 trying to convince DC of the wisdom in cutting such a deal - it's only taken five years to come true. Looking forward to big, lavish editions of Sinister Dexter and especially Nikolai Dante.
Shimura too - all that grim and grittiness in one fat tome.

How is Rebellion going to avoid the blatant copyright infringement sequence in Red Razors where he encounters Scooby Doo and his gang? When that ran in the Megazine I was always waiting for the dreaded lawyer's letter, but it never came.

Elvis Presley's estate is litigious enough (just asked Gordon 'White Trash' Rennie), but taking on the owners of Scooby too is a brave move...

Other Reviews / Re: Dredd vs Death Novel

I've just handed in my second Black Flame Dredd novel, Kingdom of the Blind. Last time I looked at Amazon, that was scheduled for November 2004.

I haven't seen Bad Moon Rising in shops yet, but Amazon.co.uk seems to have it in stock.

Help! / Re: 2000AD Diary
23 March, 2004, 03:53:34 PM
The annoying thing is I wrote the 2000 AD Diary, sourced all the pictures and got a nice cheque for the work - but never got a copy of the feckin' book!  Bleeding publishers...

Bloody hell. This is for real? Shit. I loved what Martin did on that Chopper story for me, even if some readers at the time were a little non-plussed. Last time I saw Martin was at San Diego five or seven years ago, when he and the Biz were involved with Verotika.

My sincere condolences go to all his friends and family.

Dang! There's some mighty fine art in the new ish. Classy Ezquerra on Dredd, Simon Coleby and PJ Holden making good use of greytones on a Future Shock and Rogue Trooper respectively, and I'm warming to John Lucas on Valkyries.

But Andy Clarke just gets better and better. And Gary Caldwell's colouring? Take a bow.

A crackin' way to start the day.

Art asks: Howe bout Robbie Coltrane?

Great in Cracker, but did The Bogie Man no favours.
