It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, thrills in every store! Oooooooh, it's here, the highlight of the year, 2000AD advent calendar!!!
His lordship Buttonman has asked this thread to be kept comment free and just be full of juicy Thrillpower so I'll start a new thread here: http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php/topic,34798.0.html (http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php/topic,34798.0.html) for comments!
Right! December 1st and I have TWO treats in store for you! The first is my annual shitey film, this year I've chosen to do "The Christmas Alphabet" and you'll find it here: http://youtu.be/FPGGyeVXwGU (http://youtu.be/FPGGyeVXwGU)
Secondly, I've made a PC-based app (sorry Mac users, use it on your gran's) called "YOU be the Judge!" which you can use to make brilliant(!) pictures of yourself, your postie, your dog or even your penis into various 2000AD characters - PLEASE post some of your creations on the Advent Calendar comments thread (though not the penis ones...)
Hopefully you'll find that here to download and unzip: http://www.mediafire.com/?6zvbwm2wwcy82w6 (http://www.mediafire.com/?6zvbwm2wwcy82w6). Here's a couple of examples to whet your doodahs...:

Merry Christmas everyone, I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!
Loving the Burdis one, no Judging for him!
Season's Greetings everyone!

Merry Christmas everyone - a glass raised to Pete Wells Block for the idea. Also to Mr Burdis who I modelled the judge on (the badge does actually say Burdis). Also look out for my awful scrawl on the 21st with Van Dom and the 24th with Dash Decent ;)

Hi to CFM, and everyone who has posted on the Advent Calendar. I love your work!
As I'm new to the forum I'd like to say hello and wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
Have a Dreddful Christmas everyone.
Happy Christmas, everyone. So, this year my mission to spread the word of the good book, 2000ad, through the gift of Thrill-power continued.
I chose to leave "Brothers of the Blood" some where around Ireland. Not only is Brothers of the Blood a great introduction to Judge Dredd, it has also got some fantastic stories and great art too.
A note was left inside this, wishing them a Happy Christmas from the forum and inviting them to come and join us here to say hi. Even though this didn't happen previous years it may happen this one.

Then it was left for someone to get an unexpected dose of Thrill-power.

Two from me... due to a panic Sunday thinking it was my turn then, realising I'd left the file in work and rattling off a quick plan B.... before checking and seeing I wasnt up till today.
Any-hoo.....

Here's how it went down.
After the unqualified success of my arthouse series of 'Having me dinner photos...
...I thought I'd maintain the theme for the advent calendar and dispense with the rather tacky Microsoft Paint daubings.
Annie Leibovitz was hired for the shoot with the set taking many moments to assemble. The initial shots were fanatastic...
...but perhaps lacking a certain seasonal something. Special effects gurus were flown in form Hollywood with frankly great results...
...but where is the family element that makes the whole season worthwhile? Happily Seti was availble between cat food and things on sticks photo shoots...
Regrettably Seti began to voice some creative differences and the whole project ended as he delivered the ultimate critisism...
So there you are a beautiful series of portraits to warm your seasonal cockles and far better than some crappy Paintbox scratched out daubing. What? You want one of them too? Hmmm ok seeing as it's Christmas...

Greetings all,
Here's my entry for the 2000AD Advent calender.
Zenith and Bill Savage celebrate Christmas.
Myself and Chris Denton would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to the readers of Zarjaz for your lovely comments, feedback and support regarding our strip 'Zenith Invasion'. Many thanks :)
Happy Christmas, everyone. Enjoy!
David.
Okay, some background...
I have been known to write a spoof song or two, and the idea for this one fell into my head. It was a daunting task, as there's bloody loads of verses, all of which had to be different AND tell a coherent story, just like the original. I am so happy it finally came together, and am proud to share it with you guys. Feel free to share it with any bugger you want to out there (I expect a viral Facebook campaign at the very least!)
Here it is: "Judge Ernie (He Drives The Fastest Lawmaster In The Meg)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eqtuev7n_H4
And for those who will watch it with a puzzled face, watch the original by Benny Hill: "Ernie (The Fastest Milkman In The West)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8e1xvyTdBZI
This got to number 1 in the UK in 1971. appropriately at Christmas . I've tried to use as many similar or copied lines as would fit into my own story, my favorite being the one where he "fills his judge boots".
As a bonus for new boarders, here's last year's effort, an "unashamed love letter to 2000AD", to the tune of "Hey There Delilah"...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwCzuwpfDHc
Well merry chuffin' Christmas one and all, from myself and the ABC warriors!
Some of the details aren't quite clear but go here - http://www.darkjimbo.deviantart.com/#/d4j422t - and click 'Download image' to the right of the picture to get a nice big version. Feel free to use for wallpapers or whatever, it may need resizing but should be the right dimensions.

Sorry it's not 2000ad related. By the time this occured to us, it was too late. Still, Goodwill to all and a Merry Christmas from Jon and I.

Just to be clear, the top quality art here is all Jon's work. I wrote it, so the mental issues are mine. The art is all his.
Wow! Very talented folks on this board. The Advent Calendar is awesome.
Thanks all!

Merry christmas everyone!
Slight technical difficulty. Please ignore the man behind the curtain.
Okay, I'm obviously a technical twit. My picture is too wide to display in full but resizing it doesn't seem to make any more of it show up without a scroll bar. Any ideas?
Hi everyone,

A fantastic prescient comment from The Monarch there, seeing as it's my turn now. This was all meant for the splurge on the 24th but has come forward to fill a gap.
I can imagine the amount of time & effort that has again gone into some of the magnificent creations we've seen this year, but remember that it's a law of nature that for every ace present you get, you will also get some horrible hairy socks you wouldn't want in a million years. Or to put it another way, the tin of Quality Street has been round the room already and you're looking down at the leftover chewy ones.
Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone on the board, the team at Rebellion, the writers and artists and letterers and colourers, the old hands and the new blood. It's a great Board to be on and a "value add" to the comic. I hope you enjoy these and that they go some way to thanking you all for making the Board a great place to hang out.
Right, now that's out of the way are you ready for a rash of Dash? (Don't worry, I've got some cream you can put on it). Here we go!

We made it!
There were a few "technical difficulties" earlier which I didn't expect to get sorted until tomorrow at least but somehow we've managed to pull things together and are good to go (thanks guys!).
So what we have for you is a festive little Dredd tale presented in the form of a newspaper strip. 5 parts in total with art duties on each part by a different boarder. So without further ado lets kick off with part 1, with Tony Rothwell on art chores (ably accompanied by Crazyfoxmachine on letters). I'll be posting the following parts over the course of the evening.
Enjoy!

Time to apologise to the board and especially LoD, unfortunatly due to work and a dose of the cold turning into a chest infection I've been unable to complete LoD's and my contribution to the advent calendar. So instead of leaving today's empty here are two pieces from the last two years calendars.

I feel like the kid who has woken up early on Christmas morning and has to wait for their parents to get up! It's past midday on the 24th here in Oz but it's only 1.30 am in the U.K.!
Well, that's enough into the 24th for me! Pete, wake up and unwrap the pictures for us!

Well, yet another amazing year where people's creativity has just blown me away! Some excellent, excellent stuff here, LOTS of it prog-worthy.
Christmas Eve is Free-for-all and Pro say, so if you didn't get a chance to submit something earlier, today's the day!
Riiiiight, onto the Pro's who, I have to say, have been beyond fantastic this year. When I wrote to them I asked for, quote, "a festive sketch." Some of the artwork (and some of the names!) you're about to see is going to blow your minds!
I'll do them alphabetically (and one at a time 'cos the board is having a wobbly!) as I think it's the only fair way. I'd like to say to the pro's a MASSIVE thank you and Merry Christmas from all on the board, we realise we're asking you to work for nowt so it really is appreciated!
Here we go then, up first is Alex Ronald who based this beautiful picture of Torquemada on his mother-in-law - a bit harsh I feel, even Torquemada had good days...
Ben Willsher is next, this has been my iPad wallpaper ever since he sent it, such a cool image!
Followed by this hilarious masterpiece from Chris Weston, wow...
David Ballie offers us this movie Dredd which he said was harder than he thought as he had to stitch it together from all the preview photos we've seen...
Sorry for the f**k up fellas, I'm having to resize images in Photobucket!
Next up, Big Dave by the wonderful Antony Williams, brilliant!
Gibson Quarter and Tom Berry collaborated to bring this awesome slice of Christmas fun...
Followed by the godlike Henry Flint who brings us this fantastic festive frightener, amazing!

And Jon Davis Hunt shows us who should be the next artist on ABC Warriors, stunning...
Jon Haward sent this buddaful picture...

Champion gurner Neil Roberts sent this beauty...

The amazing Boo Cook almost melted my monitor with this beautiful Kano Claus - Bad Santa, ha!

Another 2000AD legend Nick Percival sent these two beauties...
The excellent Peter Doherty sneaked in with this chilling late entry...
And the always amazing Simon Fraser sent us this ominous masterpiece...
Lastly, the mad as a box of frogs Tiernen Trevallion sent us three great images - Absalom in a Santa hat...
Santa being attacked by Pteredons...
And, of course, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas with a picture of Santa giving birth to an elf...
We've been promised a few more too so let's see what the day brings!
Thanks to all the lovely artists for taking the time to spoil us!
Have a good Christmas, folks!
Ha, I just got this from the King of the Christmas tale, Al Ewing, it's ace!:
Right, off the top of my head at the last minute...
Have yourself a Mega-City Christmas
In the iso block
Judges kicked the door in, that was quite a shock...
Have yourself a Mega-City Christmas
Doing five to ten
You won't put real sugar in the pud again...
Here we are doing ninety days, for pulling a face at Dredd,
We would never have made a gurn, if we'd known he'd turn his head...
Thirty years, that's what he gave to Kevin
Just for going to sleep
He was flying a plane but still it's pretty steep...
So have yourself a Mega-City Christmas, creep.
Happy Holidays, Season's Greetings, Wonderful Winterval etc etc
Al
The thread that keeps on giving! Here's a brilliantly topical cracker from PJ Holden, cheers Peej!

A brilliant festive Erebus from the genius that is Steve Yeowell:
This is my short story entry this year, but more people probably read this thread!
Trouble At T' Mills
Twas the night before Christmas
(Just for a change)
And in the Twoth office
Things were quite strange
Whilst Ebenezer Mills,
Sat and moaned about the whether
A ghostly apparition
Appeared from the ether
"Whoooaahhhhh!" said the ghost
(and "Helpmaboab!" too)
"Ebeneezer Mills...
I've come here for YOU!"
Millsy fell off his chair,
Then leapt up to attack,
But when he saw who it was
Just said "John... you've come back!"
For it was his dead partner,
The Pennsylvanian Scot,
Who after a bad haggis,
Had popped his clogs on the spot
And when he'd recovered,
And drawn in a breath
Said "Not a fuckin Dickins spoof!
They've been done to death!"
"Well that was sorta the plan"
Wagner admitted in shame
"Wi' wee ghosties and such shite
But you're right - it's quite lame"
"You'd not have done me over"
Said Millsy with a grin
"I loved past Twoth Christmases
And the present's a win!
"The future? Don't bother -
I write it each week!"
"Fair enough Pat" said Wagner
"I'd have shat in ma breeks!"
"Ah'm no a good ghostie,"
He wailed in lament
"Have a good life, mate"
He said as he went,
"I know what you need!"
Millsy reached on a shelf
And as the portal was closing
He lobbed a prog 2012
And for many more years,
Wagner's ghostie was strong,
Filled with Thrill Power,
He spooked on and on
So if you get a visit,
From a deid Scot in a vest
Give him a yearbook
And wish him the best
Beware rotten Haggis
And don't shed a tear
Just have a Zarjaz Christmas
And a ghafflebete New Year!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Cheers very much Mangamax and to everyone on the Forum have a twoothy 2012.
Cliff Robinson was gonna try and do something but I guess real life got in the way. So, to make up here is a sneaky peek at my latest commission from him. It's not finished yet but it's still beautiful.
Some of you will know that he did me a Dredd vs Death and a Dredd vs Mortis so now it's the turn of erm... Wells vs Fear! This was all Cliff's idea and while I wasn't sold on it at first, I love it now!

Superb work and terrifying! :o
Quivering with terror posting next to all these wonderful WONDERFUL things but here's my FINAL contribution - an idea by Dash Decent - (NOT DESCENT WHOOPS)
EITHERWAY. CRACKERGRONKS.

Well this has been a great thread this year, now for my attempt, which I feel, just being posted next to the wonderful pieces here, will single handedly ruin all of your Christmas'! CHRISTMAS! So half of this was done speedily in my local comic book shop, the wonderful Red Sun (i suggest you check them out if you live in Essex, as comic shops here a few and far between!) and the other half was done on a torturous traffic jammed bus journey home, so please excuse the shoddiness of this. AND WHY OH WHY DID I MAKE HIS LAWGIVER BLACK?! it was meant to be shadow. Any was, it is what it is, and tis the season to be jolly, so MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL, YOU ARE BRILLIANT!
All the best, Will! :D
