I'm selling this to afford progs 30 - 100 so don't beat me up!

here's the link to eBay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/complete-Zenith-Grant-Morrison-Hardback-2000ad-/230555521561?pt=UK_Books_comics_Magazines_UK_Comics_ET&hash=item35ae2e1219

here's a movie tour of it!!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TdO7WL_zJs

it is really nice and tight. Professionally made by a local bookbinder and i showed it off here a couple of years back when I had it made.

By all means get a member of your family to buy it for you! it's got all Phases, interludes and as many extras (tour posters, covers, pin-ups as I could fit in)

It has the whole 'ball bearing' quote on the cover which the bookbinder said he would never ever do again!

Ends 7 days. mat

Suggestions / Put credit box at the end of dredd
26 October, 2010, 05:06:48 PM
Hi. I'd like to see the dredd credit box move back so I don't know if it's a Wagner one before I start. I would then be fairer to the other writers. I know it's prejudiced. And I'm only half serious. Soon as I see it's not Wagner I just think ah 'fill in' which you never would watching a us tv show...

I might have misunderstood but someone wrote that there were omnibus type reprints of early 2000ads. Anyone got anything like this? I don't mean the complete law in order etc.

Can't find anything like this listed anywhere - it's good to have a new challenge!

(this sounds like an AA speech)

Finally got a portable device so I'll be more talkative. Saw a lot of you at Bics. Colin MacNeil is a star with his crayons !

i.e £5 or £10 'get what you're given' stuff in 20 mins type way?

I just love getting sketches.

Will your work for cheap cash?

I've got a B&W illustration I want coloured.

If you are also a graphic designer / photoshopper and could make it up into a faux 2000ad cover that would be cool.

PM me and i'll send you the image and you can let me know the cost.

Cheers

Every single 2000ad character fights each other.

I want acid spitting Nemesis fighting Dredd whilst the ABC Warriors take-on Slaine and the Celtic hoards. Every page someone falls until the last page reveals the winner.

And can Nick Dyer draw it all? I love his stuff.

We don't need a Beyonder type figure but he could have be green and have a rossette
I understand that Zenith vs Summer Magic boy might not happen for legal reasons.

p.s. The first Dredd Zarjaz story in the current issue was remarkably good - really fun and clever.

Help! / Axel Press-Button and Laser Eraser
22 April, 2010, 04:04:41 PM
Wikipedia has let me down.

I've got a couple of Axel PB + LE comics by Eclipse. And Warrior #4 which has his origin.

Questions:

1) There are 2 Eclipse series - anyone know what order they reprinted stuff?
2) If I get both Eclipse sets will I be missing anything that was in Warrior
3) Was the Warrior stuff all new or was it reprints of earlier?

I love the early Dillon and Collins work!

Help! / Leviathan & War of the Worlds - D'Israeli
15 April, 2010, 05:14:13 PM
Hi guys
I really like D'Israeli's artwork. I wanted to buy the Hardback of Leviathan but its well out of print and quite expensive.

Questions:

1)I see the TPB is coming out with nearly double the pages - anyone know what these are (any more story)
2) War of the Worlds adaptation - any good?

Help! / Help - I've bought some old 2000ad binders
03 February, 2010, 04:58:22 PM
Hi

Help - I've bought 4 2000ad binders.

I've been really impressed with 2000ad since the ZOMBO + Cradlegrave relaunch so I thought I'd bind theses cos they take 20 issues a binder.

Except (arse!) 2000ad is now about 1.5 inches shorter than back in the day from when these binders were designed.

They fit the prog 520+ size

So questions for help:

1) Anyone know when the prog size got shorter (as opposed to thinner) ie what progs can I bung in, from prog 520 to X?

2) I was trying to think which progs would make a nice set ie The whole set of OZ progs, anyone else got a suggestion of what I could bung in? They do also fit Warrior and Special size.

Thanks. I know it's not the worst thing to have bought on eBAY!

Classifieds / I want to buy a 2000ad binder
11 September, 2009, 04:18:21 PM
Any ever get one?
How did they work - I'm presuming they had a metal looped strip that held each comic in.
Anyone know what 'size' 2000ad they held?

(sorry to clarify these are the ones that held the comic not the traidng cards!)

Books & Comics / Eagle (1982 version) and John Wagner
09 September, 2009, 08:59:07 AM
Hi guys
I've been ploughing through the Eagle comic relaunch from 1982 - 1983.
Wikipedia helps a bit but:

a) Does anyone know much about Dan Dare - did Pat Mills & John Wagner really write it together?
b) Is Alan Hebden an Alan Grant pseudonym - He's credited for writing the Tower King by the fabulous Ortiz which went straight into House of Daemon (again by Ortiz) but this time credited to Alan Grant.
c) Joe Soap - still bizarre - anyone oelse got fond memories of having Joe sat on by a curry eating fat man!

I still love Doomlord the photo stories - there's something great about the mask!
I don;t expect much response as this is a bit niche!

Welcome to the board / Hi. I'm crap
08 September, 2009, 05:23:16 PM
Sorry I only access this site using my wii which doesn't allow me to leave messsages.
But I've been reading for the past year and a resubscriber to 2000ad since Zombo and Cradlegrave really impressed me.

I'm also a hopeless Zenith fan as you'll see from my old/other post

Events / Bristol Expo 2009
21 October, 2008, 10:19:24 PM
Jut read that next year's Bristol Expo is taking place just in the Ramada. The huge train station side building is unavailable. So the organisers are personally inviting stands knowing that there will be over-demand.

I'm gutted as I had to miss B'ham. Anyone else got any news on this?

Events / Alan Moore is signing
02 September, 2008, 04:19:51 PM
Saturday the 13th of September at Orbital comics London.

He's always good fun. It says he's signing Lost Girls but he always seems happy enough to sign copies of anything put in front of him. I'm always suspicious of his name signed without a dedication as every thing I've seen him sign is made out to someone.

Please pass back any reports if you go...

Books & Comics / Batman RIP + Final Crisis
14 August, 2008, 02:55:51 PM
I've got his Batman run since the start and like Final Crisis I'm waiting for a big redeeming ending.

They both seem to be fast moving and largely charmless affairs. FInal Crisis I don't feel I know 70% of what's going on. Batman I had to look up what Zen Ur Ahh referred to on google.

Every page has genius on it - a bullet that was fired in the future backwards through time - but it all seems so compressed.

Anyone else being left cold...

Suggestions / My suggestion - Halo Jones
17 July, 2008, 04:16:38 PM
I listened to that last Alan Moore podcast and it's quite clear that he is never going to return to 2000ad. And I understand his decision - that he doesn't want to work on properties that he doesn't own (and fortunately he doesn't have to)

So why not let someone else have a go at writing Halo Jones now? It's clearly episodic, it's clearly unfinished and hopeful Ian Gibson would be up for (at least) drawing it.

I know it would be better if Alan Moore did it. But he isn't going to. And it would get me buying every issue of 2000ad again. And cos its 20 + years later it's hardly sacrilege.

If Rebellion aren't doing this because they think Alan is going to come back - then I think they'll be waiting forever.
If Rebellion aren't doing this because they are being respectful - they are be astonishingly uncommercial for a company that deals with exploiting licensed characters.
And finally if they aren't doing this cos it will upset us fans (my conclusion) - I've got to question this - as long as Ian Gibson is on board and there's a good script - I want to see it.

Would you really be upset, 20 years on if someone else wrote this?
I know there was talk of Bk 4 Pirate Princess (?) at one point
