Does anyone remember this from Scream!? Is it suitable for a six-year-old?

well of course it depends on the six year old but I have the Hibernia collection from a few years ago and its nothing you wouldn't find in early 2000ad. Not as gory or violent as Flesh and while the art is certainly dark and forboding the tale is great fun without being shocking. I'd happily share it with my son who will soon be turning 6.

I first read Scream! at the age of 7 (and a half.) There were definitely stories that scared me (bits of Monster, Mr Kemp and the Debt Collectors in Thirteenth Floor, a few of the one-off stories) but The Dracula File wasn't one of them. I enjoyed it, but its focus on a traditional monster was reassuringly fantasy-based (unlike the idea of having a deformed uncle living in the attic.)

There's not much by way of violence and no gore, but it has the right amount of frights and morbid laughs that kids tend to love.  The cold war politics might need a bit of explaining, though - lots of mentions of the iron curtain and the KGB.
