It looks like the entire Earth Alliance Plot isn't just the only thing it shares with Babylon 5*, as it adds a torrid relationship with a network, and being on the Brink (no pun - okay a small one) of permanent cancellation to the list
(*the whole message with Sadavir Errinwright being recorded, channels Morgan Clarke message being recorded by Ivannova, as does the hybrid "weapon's supplies", the third season being the one the "great war came upon us all, the poisoning of Pyotr Korshunov as was the way in the "old republic" and more. There are shots, which, if not lifted are er "similar" - the reveal of Fred Johnson is similar to Londo at the bombardment of Narn, the attack on the Ganymede redolent of Zha'ha'Duum, the whole aesthetic of the UN military and more it's too geeky to mention. But still I enjoy it.)
Judge Dredd surfing on the back of a dead dog. Unintended or not, that's as apt a metaphor for the state of the current iteration of Dredd as I can think of.

Film Discussion / Re: Dredd (2012)

And before anyone starts pouting, this just a quick word to say that the lead up to this has been one helluva a ride. The threads on the movie have been an essential daily read. I think they are something the contributors can take enormous credit and the guys from Rebellion treating the threads with lightness of touch I doubt you'd get with many other organisations who had a film coming out featuring its most bankable character. Can you imagine an official DC or Marvel board letting an equivalent threads go without the scissors being deployed? No me neither.

Anyway it's been a blast gentlemen. And as for the big day itself tomorrow? I cannot wait.

I work with these things all day....

Panasonic TH42PX80 if you don't want full HD
Panasonic TH42PZ80 if you do.

Don't buy a LCD set bigger than 37" as you'll then see the flaws in the technology. Compare a "Sony" (ahem) KDL40W4000 to the Panasonic TH42PZ80. You'll leave with the Panasonic.

OK, that's enough. You don't like a story, fine, but comments such as Philt's are utterly disrespectful to the professional creators involved. If you can't be constructive, or at least polite, in your criticisms, then go off to some other corner of the internet and be needlessly rude and confrontational. But it will no longer be tolerated on this site.

I've had more than one creator contacting me recently about comments made on this messageboard, and frankly this forum has been on thin ice for a while. It isn't doing the site, 2000 AD or Rebellion any favours, and unless I start seeing some moderation in language used then the messageboard will be pulled altogether. *

Funny how you weren't on here sucking up the praise I was dishing out to the comic only a matter of months ago any reason for that? Or does that not count?  As a long time reader (31 years without a break comic I am entitled to express my views. Threatening to take the ball away because someone has a different opinion than you belongs in the playground. But hell why bother. Amongst you be it. I can't be fucked with 2000ad or this frigging board anymore.

Dredd - meh

Revere - incomprehensible goth bollox

Finn - incomprehensible murky bollox

Wireheads - incomprehensible (but thankfully brief) bollox.

Quite possibly the shitest prog in a decade.

I can't believe people (me included) are getting so arsey about this. For pete's sake (no pun) there's no need for this. Arguing over a consumer durable? Christ is that we're reduced to?

So apologies. I shouldn't have used the fan boy term

++yeah Philt Sony always backs the winner. you know like Betamax, Digital Cassette Tapes whatever the hell those movie disc's were called that were on the PSP??. Yep Sony always backing the winner. The High Def war was only won by Blueray thanks to the huge amount of money Sony poured into getting studios exclusive to their format, have no doubt that when the end of the financial year comes Sony wont be looking too good financially (they will of course blame developement costs of the PS3 again)++

Er DCC was produced by Philips, Sony produced Mini Disc which wiped the floor with DCC. Mini Disc only started to falter when Recordable CD came out. Can you guess which manufacturer along with Philips developed CD (Clue it's Sony) I'd also dispute whether Beta "failed". I wonder why you don't mention the things Sony backed that won? Like 8mm, DVD, CD, Recordable CD, 3 1/4 inch floppy discs, Umatic, Digibeta, Bluray, the Walkman, and the last two Playstations? Na their useless because UMD didn't take.

It is also utter rot to suggest bluray = Sony. Sony are only one of a number of manufacturers that adopted the format. A group that includes all the major consumer electronics companies (Philips, Panasonic, Sharp, Samsung, LG, Pioneer, JVC, Thomson, and the rest) plus all the main computer manufacturers including Apple and HP

As for those that didn't Toshiba, NEC, Sanyo, Microsoft spent just as much money attempting to ensure studio's only released their movies HD DVD and yet they failed.

++I FUCKING HATE FANBOYS!!! Fuck off back to the C&VG Forums where you belong. TWAT! You bought a PS3 and now have to convince yourself it was a good buy by acting like a fud? Do you do the same when you buy a new hoover, toaster, dildo? Just play the games and enjoy them FFS++

So why are you getting on like one? Must have it a raw nerve there.

All fair enough. But don't yourselves that HD-DVD stood a chance of winning the High Def disc format war. Doomed from the outset the participation of Toshiba, NEC and Sanyo sealed it's fate.

Some companies just don't learn from failure I suppose.

Of course I work for Sony. I'm head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.

What's an "onine" service by the way? Sounds very interesting.
