Got the Meg early today - not read it yet, but Darkies Mob is in COLOUR this month (well, bits of it are).

Did anyone else notice the inferences in last progs episode of Slaine ? I'm talking about the bit where Moloch is going to sacrifice the three small boys and rants on quite laciviously about what he's "going to do to them" before he burns them alive, and how this will make thier tears of fear even sweeter. I didn't really pick up on this fully until later on when Moloch says to Slaine that he only raped Niamh to taste her fear. Now this may just be me reading shit into things, but the innuendo is certainly there, I wonder if this was Mills intention, because if it was then I think he has single handedly created one of the most sinister and down-right nasty villians I have ever seen in a comic. Personally I cant wait to see Slaine smash him up a bit.

Its true. I went out last night and at about 2am at club kick out time there was a group of coppers manhandling a bunch of leery drunks, one of them was taller, broader and more aggresive than the other policemen and drunks put together, and when they'd sorted the pissheads out, this cop then went on to randomly push and abuse innocent passers by. His colleagues looked shit scared of him, and he was the only one wearing a helmet. He WAS the law !!!!!

JUST CURIOUS,(AND EAGER TO START MY FIRST EVER THREAD), WHICH END OF YEAR PROG (PROG 2000 ONWARDS) IS YOUR FAVOURITE AND WHY? i STILL THINK IT HAS TO BE PROG 2000, THAT COVER, THAT GENUINE SENSE OF EXCITEMENT THAT THIS WAS THE SINGLE BIGGEST ISSUE OF 2000AD EVER, THE RETURN OF JOHNNY ALPHA AND THE ABC WARRIORS, THE WONDERFULLY NOSTALGIC LETTERS PAGE, DREDD ARRESTING JOHN WAGNER FOR WRITING VIOLENT COMICS, NIKOLAI AND JENNA FINNALY GETTING IT ON AND THE BEGGINING OF THE TSAR WARS, THE PROLOUGUE TO GLIMMER RATS, THE 2000AD CELEBRITY DEATHMATCH, ALL OF IT CLASSIC STUFF. THE OTHER SPECIALS HAVE BEEN GREAT BUT NONE MATCHES THE SENSE OF OCCASION THAT THIS PROG HAD, I CAN REMEMBER WHEN I BOUGHT IT, I TOOK THE EVENING OFF WORK JUST TO READ IT AND IT TOOK ME THREE WHOLE HOURS, A TRADITION THAT NOW TAKES PLACE EVERY YEAR WHEN THE END OF YEAR PROG COMES OUT, AND THIS YEAR THERES TWO OF THE BUGGERS,SHOULD TAKE ME A GOOD 5 OR 6 HOURS OR SO.
