I bring you... the geekiest shelves in the Hideous Boxroom of Doom!
My lovely mum brought me the full Pitt set of figures, including the rather splendid Dredd, over from Canada the other day, and I wanted to share them with the board.
The Dredd's very cool, despite the bumbag, and some of the others are great too. Madman's gun is fabulous and that's some set of claws on Pitt! (Whoever he is...)
I realise how astonishingly geeky it is to have action figures, then post a picture of them on the internet, but I thought it would be fun.
As you can see, my meagre collection isn't going to win any awards - especially given the boxes are long gone! - but I bet a few boarders can beat me.
Anyone want to join in? Let the world see your darkest, dustiest shelves, cabinets and cupboards!
- Trout
ha! I'd call you a nerd except i have some of those too!
Dredd looks 'kin awesome - far superior to the advert picture - might have to get one now, cool
Here is a tiny part of my Cellar of Dredd.
Oh I had better open those doors
Here are some models and stuff
I have got some close up shots but these pics are out of date now due to my collecting curse!
Just keep adding.
I had the Eagle from the top of the pinball machine arrive today from Chile and a Dredd prototype Legends model arrive from Hong Kong.
I love Ebay!!!!!
Careful! There's a man in a blue t-shirt inside your cabinet! You can just see him there behind the figurines in the 2nd picture.
Perhaps he's one of those illegal immigrants we've heard off?
I thought I would quickly post this last one for now before I go and meet my son off his school bus.
I just had a quick look and he's still there but wearing another one of my tops.
The cheeky Bastard!
Nerd-ay! Great paint jobs on the old Citadel skysurfers, Commando.
Is it just me, or is the Judge Death on the borrom shelf wearing a sailor's cap?
Neeks and Nerds the lot of you.............
If only I had them all on show!!
;-)
How do you guys get away with this????
What do your partners think about it?
I'm not allowed one bit of personal tat outside of my bedroom (yeah, MY bedroom, she has her own). As a result just about everything I own is in my room, all boxed up.
Nice Dark Knight there Trout, love that.
May I suggest putting a lock on the door for when Rose gets her on her feet. If she got in there it would be like all her Christmas's came at once.
Damn. I had a post vanish there.
It basically said the statues - Flash, Batman, Joker and Lantern - are gifts from my wife.
I get away with having a lot of stuff (mostly comics) because it's almost all in the boxroom, and my wife doesn't have to look at it!
- Trout
I have one item on display in the dining room on top of one of the book cases and it's this (I chose the biggest model). It's the 2ft Movie Dredd.
I am going to start and take my military photo's down from the stairs and put this pic up with some other Dredd stuff soon.
I have been given permission, it was easy as the good lady bought it for me.....I bloody love her!
How do you guys get away with this????
Heh. It *is* great to have a better half that not only puts up with but actively promotes my collecting of comic stuff. I've got my graphic novels/tpbs all handily on a book case in the sitting room (yes...the *sitting room*) and have my Dredd vs Death staute, Dredd badge, Rogue bobblehead on the shelf of my computer desk in the hall with my Judge Death original art and poster from the first Shedcon on the wall above it.
I've been told that when I get the Dredd helmet later in the year, that will have pride of place in the sitting room as well. I'm a happy camper. :)
and have my Dredd vs Death sta[tu]e
This isn't the new one that's just released, btw, but the German-made one to promote the DvD game that I picked up at Dreddcon 3 years ago.
My Shedcon postcard is on the wall, just out of shot in my pic.
Yay!

brilliant thread trout.i'll have to show this to my wife, when she sees there are people worse than me out there maybe she'll leave me alone!
bump
In the hope of a few more pics...
I took a couple last night, but haven't uploaded them yet.
Patience fish man!
my spare room is in such shite state that I'd be ashamed to put up pics of my stuff
How do you post your own piccys on these threads because fucked if i know how to create my own website
Your best bet is to open an account with someone like photobucket (IT'S FREE) which is what I did and upload your photo's onto this.
From here you can post your pictures to the far corners of the globe or if you want just here.
I found it rather simple and I haven't got a clue what I'm doing.
I then use the direct link and paste it in the optional image URL.
Here's Mean in my garden.
small part of my star wars collection. the wife only gives me a small space for display.
Hope this works Im a virgin at piccy posting

All very nice indeed :)
I have loads of 2000ad stuff but it's all in their boxes/polysturene packaging.
I'd love to be able to get them in a big cabinet.
Hadn't thought where the helmets going to go actually! Just had to have one!
My entire collection of comics and GNs is in one big pile at the end of my room (I dwell in the attic) where there's enough dust to fill twelve universes. It's like some black hole which must constantly be fed with money.
I've got two large rooms full of comics, graphic novels and assorted memorabilia. But that's allowed because Leonia has two rooms full of books. Plus we have the sitting-room full of DVDs and videos.
If we ever have any kids we're screwed for space...
I miss my mean machine and dredd mugs. Are they still available?
However I'm not properly nerdy because I drank coffee out of mine and gave the action figures to my son to play with
yours wearing a Rogue tshirt and Phantom boxer shorts as he types
Phantom boxer shorts
Are those like invisible pants?
Here you go.
Link: Dredd mug
Oooh! I'd love more Star Wars stuff.
Nice.
How could you Floyd.
You actually used your mug to drink fluids out of. It makes me ill just thinking about it. Mine just have dust in them, lol.
Nice collection, vzzbux -just one question: what does the (awesome) helmetless Stormie have on his back? It's not an accessory I recognise.
Oh yeah, another question: I see you have the Endor Walker - is it worth getting for the Scout Trooper with openable faceplate? It's pretty heavy money.
(Retreats to flagellate himself with GQ and the Sports pages of a tabloid).
Heh. I've got all bar the Mean and Rico mugs and they all get used on a day-to-day basis. The print on the edge of Don Uggie one is starting to get a bit pale now, though. Although it's the right thing for some people, I couldn't buy 2000ad stuff and keep them in their boxes and not use them. I'm not knocking those who do, and have them proudly on display, but it's personally not for me. I know some people squirrel stuff away as well in an attempt to artificially raise their worth and rub their hands together at how fucking clever they are(#) but I think that's just wrong, tbh. In Wils' land of 2000 ad/other comics merchandise; mugs are to drink out of, t-shirts are to be worn, statues and the like are to have pride of place (and are another thing that needs dusting) and comics, no matter how old or "rare", are to be read and enjoyed by as many people as possible.
But that's probably just me. ;)
(#) Cue photo of Orangutan with Prog-Array.
I like his collection of Snowtroopers, who for some reason remind me of a Royal Artillery Concert Party.

I feel a bit sorry for the old, yellowed one who's having to have a sit down because he's lost his skirt thing.
Kama, Cosh it's called a kama. Definitely not a little vinyl skirt. Sheesh, what do they teach kids these days...
This thread is a special haven of geek.
Welcome one and all!
(I drink tea out of my Dark Judges mugs. I even had the Mean one at work for months!)
- Trout
the backpack on the stormtrooper is from the hoth accessory set in the saga collection.
the scout trooper is defo worth getting out of the Endor ATAT...But the one from the Commemorative collection is much better.
For all you collectors out there, TK maxx has cheep toys sorry collectables at cheap prices loads of Marvel stuff.
I got the Star Wars mustafar play set for £13.00 and the limited edition modal nodes commemorative tin collection for £12.00.
Didnt see any 2k stuff but its a right mess in the toy section you have to hunt round. This was in leicester but i am sure it is the same uk wide
But the one from the Commemorative collection is much better.
Do you mean the one from last year's Vintage set? 'Cos that was indeed outstanding. Or is there another from the Commemerative Tin set? Anyways, thanks for the TKMax tip, I seldom look there but the missus occasionally returns with unexpected goodies.
Never saw the Hoth Accessory set. Ah well.
Its the one from the tin collection..Basically it is the VOTC figure with the flip helmet.
Oi! It must be mine! By the way, have you seen this:
Link: This
here is an outdated Imperial parade.
The missus keeps getting pissed off when I try to display them.(mumble mumble groan)
">
It's like being in Red Square! lol
Sad how the TPM Darth Sidious is still the best Emperor figure by a long straw (well, okay I don't have the Evolutions one, so I can't judge...). That parade needs an injection of Death Star Briefing Room, but I'm wowed by your Sandtrooper numbers!
My wife needs to see this so she can see how, in relative terms, I'm quite sane with the stuff I keep!!!
Evolution one still not as good, and i am working on the briefing room, I have three of the officers and have got my hands on the tarkin and stormtrooper from the comic book collection.
I know I need help but I cant help it (damn you Lucas, or is it hasbro)
Indeed WoD, my collection of tat, erm... precious things, appears tawdry in comparison to that magnificent Imperial Parade!
All my Star Wars stuff's in boxes... *sniff*
(http://photobucket.com"%20target="_blank)
nothing wrong with what you have got there at least you have a room, most of my collection is in my attic. is that cringer hanging on your wall...
Does anyone out there have the judge dredd bubble blowers, Ive got dredd, anderson, mean and mortis stuck in my attic along with the wall clock (bolland art) and the pencil case also a few keyrings same mould as the bubble blowers
i have started infiltrating my work place with bits of stuff to make it feel more homely.so far a mini dalek and hellboy quee now nestle amongst the tubes and feeding pumps i was tempted to get a hannibal lecter on his trolly and do a "you dont have to be mad to work here..."signs but i dont think my nurse boss would go for it!
Heh. For a minute, Rac, I thought you'd caught your reflection in that last picture.
Tord, You bastard I wish I hadn't just seen that link. I must have it.......Slurp slavver drool
You bastard I wish I hadn't just seen that link
I know, I know, it's one evil pile of mostly-white plastic alright. But you wouldn't believe how much edible stuff you can find out the back of Maccers, and holidays are greatly overrated.
I felt the most appalling pangs of guilt last week when I bought 4(!) of the Comic Packs, and then picked up a ride-on toy for my son from a skip outside our office... (true story). I'm a shit, and it's all your fault, Lucas.
Before I forget my local tesco had 2 of the order 66 double packs £9.00, couldnt resist. Just 3 more to go. Bought my son some cool spidey figures, similar line as the playskool galactic heroes as well
Well done that rac!
Kama, Cosh it's called a kama. Definitely not a little vinyl skirt. Sheesh, what do they teach kids these days...
What's scary is that there are circles where I'm considered the geeky one who knows a lot about this shit!
Your various storage solutions alone make this an awesome thread! I've been trying to find a place for all my toys + comics since Booga unwittingly destroyed the only bookshelf in the house. I'm especially liking Commando's glass cabinet. Sephiroth and friends would be very happy in one of those!
You all have fabulous stuff!
xTGx
is that cringer hanging on your wall...
In this house, he likes to be called Battle Cat.
Heh. For a minute, Rac, I thought you'd caught your reflection in that last picture.
You mean the short bald guy with the beard..?
RAC: Tom has the same Battlecat. Shame his armour is broken now...
I'll try and get a pic of Dan and Toms room. they've just organised a load of transformers in battle.
Bolt-01
Just to let you know, the best places to get the display cabinets like the glass one I have is "Ye Olde Junk Shops".
I was looking for one of these (Granny) cabinets for ages and I saw this displaying stuff in one of these places and made an offer which was accepted.
There is one problem it wouldn't fit in the car so I borrowed a transit van off a mate.
One last thing, it was a bugger to get down the cellar. lol.
I'm always on the lookout for other means of display but stuff on ebay is a bit pricey and nothing ever seems close enough to warrant me collecting it. Ho-hum!
Bits and pieces of furniture like that will go cheaply enough at local auction sales.
I just use flat-pack shelving, mostly from B&Q, although I have a nice Ikea unit that holds my GNs, etc, in the spare room. I'll post a pic after my mum goes home next week.
I look forward to seeing this Ikea item King Trout!
It's just a set of open shelves!
I like it because it's pretty solid and just the right size for comic stuff with spines.
I'll show you mine when I've had a bit of a tidy up - I need to get the electrician and the plasterer in before I can bring that room back into use again. At the moment it's empty of anything but tools.
Good move Usher. I got told off for not tidying up first!
Some of my collection of life enhancing curios

Hey, nice pics! I'm especially wowed by the V mask.
Where did you get that?
- Trout
was that one of the 'V' masks that DC were giving away at Bristol?
I've seen Ushers...it's impressive...very big!
...but dusty...
"was that one of the 'V' masks that DC were giving away at Bristol?"
I got it on ebay but it was originally given away at a convention alright
just in case you're not joking Cosh, I'll mention that The Phantom is a terrific old comic, which predates Superman and Batman and which survives, mysteriously popular in Scandanavia, Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. David Bishop writes stories for it from time to time
Link: increadible non-wikipedia link
Like the Samurai Jack figures, Johnny Stress.
Are they ceramic or vinyl?
They're just plastic ST- but they're pretty cool:)
Got this the other day
I slept in the office/studio/guest room last night* and it dawned on me
This is the room I wanted when I was 15
except now its got all the expensive stuff I couldn't afford at the time! framed 70s Vampirella, Eerie and Creepy posters, 2000ad Nos 1 and 2, figurines, shelves of comics, Gretsch 6120,etc etc
sad really
* we had company- no rows with the missus or anything like that
I paraded some of my Imperials so its time for some of my rebels.
Who's the arse-head with the eyepatch? ISTR having a figure of him in the 80s, but can't remember who he is.
Its Prune face/Orrimaarko
V
As if Han Solo would wear one of those Commando helmets! For shame! Got to get me one of those Captain Antilles though, sweeeet. (How did I ever get laid?)
Just noticed that johnnystress and I have a T-Rex in common. The only plastic dinosaur I've bought in many a long year, but I couldn't physically walk past it to get out of the shop without strangling some apparently vital part of my soul. it's just the best T-Rex ever. With moveable jaw!
Incidentally, one of vzzbux's figures isn't really a rebel. Yet.
How did I ever get laid?
If you remember, let me know (it's been a while).
haha! yay for the t-rex!!
it was far too dear too but i had to have it!
My starwars fixation wasn't revealed to my wife until I had her firmly in my grasp..and it was only in its infancy back then.
Come to think about it my collection started about the same time.
V
I am using Obi-Wan as a rebel soldier, and no I dont think any other woman would touch me again, my wife only just tolerates my collection now.
V
I phoned my girlfriend whole I was at a car boot sale at the weekend
the panic in her voice was palpabale, turning to pleading and then acceptance when I told her I'd found a David Bowie-Hunk Dory LP..'for her'
Women, so easily pleased.
'women,so easily pleased'
chocolate and flowers.you eat theyre gone dont water or indeed do,they die.
bits of plastic, non bio degradable.thousands of years ! we win!
Even prog 1 has lasted for 30 years and that was printed on bog paper.
Dare I ask for these forces to be displayed, complete with vehicles?
In a diorama?
Heh, heh!
- Trout
Well I just had this nice frame made so that I can display the first set of phonecards up the stairs.
I did have some trading cards done at the same time. It was both Dark Judges set's with the metal print in the middle all signed by Simon Bisley but the messed it up, Big Time, so that is being redone.
Also hows about this collection of Dredd's.
1 x Boxed.
1 x Open.
1 x Black Prototype with see through helmet.
1 x White Prototype.
I can't seem to control this addiction at all.
hah thats pretty amazing
you should start with the initial big block of un-moulded plastic though
Where can I buy that, lol.

So it was you who bought them from ebay?
I buy anything and am always watching the money eating site that is Ebay, lol.
you've only got a few minutes left to snag that dredd figure its at £7.50 at the mo!
i resisted, only cos i got a lobster johnson for 99p the other day!
good hunting.
If anyone has a Home Bargains local to them, they're currently selling the first wave of Marvel Figure Factory for 99p each. For the mystery figures, look on the back of the card, in the bottom left hand corner, where a letter will be stamped. With the help of this list, it'll tell you what figure is actually inside.
A - Unmasked Spider-Man
B - Doc Ock wearing a lab coat
C - Grey Hulk
D - Unmasked Wolverine
E - Unmasked Venom
F - Captain America
G - Red Daredevil
H - Yellow Daredevil
I - Human Torch
K - Unmasked Human Torch
L - Storm wearing a white costume
M - Stormwearing a black costume, sporting a mohican
they've also had some good pirates of the carribbean stuff in,my girl will be well chuffed xmas morning ARRR!
Here are my other framed art cards all signed by the Biz at Dreddcon 6.5, all rectified after the art shops mistake.
...Hi to Commando Forces, i have a question for you, in your cabinet picture about halfway down on the left theres what appears to be a model of one of the taxis from the Judge Dredd movie, could you tell me the origin of this and how you came by it??? thanks....
"i got a lobster johnson"
Ouch, that sounds painful.
"i got a lobster johnson"
Ouch, that sounds painful.
No Problem ARRISARRIS.
I saw an advert in a model mag about the time the film came out for this.
The person in question was the only allowed modeller to reproduce the Landrover Cab with permission off Landrover & Cinergi. He doesn't have much stock left the last time I rang him to enquire if he was still doing them, for another boarder. He said he would have to make one from scratch but he still had enough bits to do it.
They cost £80 and are extremely intricate and very heavy. They also come in 3 colours yellow, red & silver.
The gentleman in question is getting on in years so the chances of him making stuff in the future are receeding.
Anyway I hope that little bit of info helps.
John
John and ARRISARRIS, update for you on the metal taxi cabs, I had the last made up yellow one that he had a couple of months ago and am currently waiting for a red and silver one to be made up so not sure what he's got left in stock. He's a great guy though as I went to see him and pick it up direct etc.
Also does anyone have any more info on the latest figure (with the 10% discount!) that we where meant to be able to buy recently etc etc?????
cheers
...thanks for the info, anychance sometime of a closer picture? ta...
I am well chuffed for you Large48. I am glad the info got to you in the end and he was able to help.
As for the taxis ARRISARRIS here is the yellow one followed inthe next two psots by the other two.
Silver one
Red one, Oviously!
Talking of the land rovers, whilst I was working for NTL I did a job in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire and the next door had one from the set of the movie which he was renovating. Not as impressive up close but I was still green with envy.
V
There was one from the film for sale on ebay a couple of years ago but didn't see what happened to it...
Anyone know?
i got some ointment from the doctor, thankyou for your concern.
King Troot Those V Vendetta masks are on sale in FP in Edinbra
Publicservice huff
They have them in FP in Dublin too if anyones interested
Also Manchester, I suspect they have them in FP generally...
And those masks are a fiver each......
I was hoping to pull something out of the hat, but it'll have to wait another 6 weeks at least. But here's a taster.
One more... will have something more to show by Christmas.
You can get those little vacuum cleaners in Forbidden Planet.......
It's not a vacuum cleaner. It's a Martian 'handling machine'. At work.
My boxes of 2000ad, Megazines etc are on a rapid racking very solid set of shelves with boxes of merchandise in boxes on the top and several statues, fleeces and hats. I have all the t-shirts still in their bags and other ones for wearing, I do wear my 2000ad fleece all the time though. I have all the mugs in their polystrene and I have a big drawer unit to put all my original artwork in.
I also have another bookcase and a bit full of 2000ad GN's.
I'd love to have the space to display everything properly.
A fiver? Shit, really? No wonder they've got so many...
Thanks, Huffster. Santa has now been asked.
- Trout
Endor action just for ukdane
Lol to that vzzbux.
I assume due to their rebellious nature they don't know any fieldcraft or battle formations. I think single file or arrowhead would have been best used in that long grass.
P.S. I hope you gave them a good cleaning after that outing.
Nice
Whos'e the beardy rebel?
(and as per the other thread, any chance of a Sandpeople Clan-Campouttm including Banthas?)
Which room is that Ush?
Damnit vzzbux, I've told you before - Han Solo would not wear one of those helmets. He's Han Solo fercrissakes. And where's Chewie?
commando forces:
obviously they had put a man on point, who do you think took the photo? Some sort of giant god or one of them? It must have been one of them :P
Tuskens to come.
Solo is just trying to hide his identity from imperial snipers and the beardy fellow is just another rebel grunt. and commando forces, they just cant be arsed as the Ewoks have their backs.
V
I have joined the club.
Welcome to the slightly shadowy side pete.
V
I now know how you got your name Peterwolf.
You can't hide that arm in the shadows any longer as your lycanthrope self has come through on that photo. lol.
By the way nice model and now the bug has bitten you say goobye to all your free cash.
P.S. Is that a Predator penis hanging down between his legs!
I have most of the Reaction Figures, except For Durnam Red and Psi Anderson.
I managed to too get both variants of Slaine. Thanks to Ebay.
I also have a small collection of the Blizzard Action figures based on Diablo and Warcaft.
Three Spawn Collectables.
I have a small collection of the first and second wave of He-Man Masters of the Universe. Though my Battle Cat has mysteriuosly dissappeared.
Sort came to my mind when I noticed Rac had one on display also.
I have a even smaller collection of orignal star-ars action figures. Alot of it's broken or missing parts. Noneo fthe new stuff, though.
Though I still won't part with them.
There is also Lord of the Rings figures.
Most of the Nine walkers and some of the Orcs, a Troll, two Ring wraiths all based on the movie and there are few figures that that commisoned before the movies. Different variants.
I also have alot of those rubber dinosaurs that used to be quite popular.
My rooms rather messy at the moment. So I am too ashamed to take any photos at the moment.
Theres a whole range of these figures and i liked the clear plastic. That wasnt a penis but i have now castrated it anyway.
They are all a quid each in the shop.
The hairy arms i get from my dad so it must run in the family.
Bantha poodoo
i used to bugger up my mum's borders playing "endor" with the scout walker and speeder bikes!
i thought however your pic was a star wars/jurrasic park crossover,if you look carefully you can see the tips of the velociraptor's tails!!!
Respect! Both versions of the Bantha and the young Darth Krayt. Nice.
Which room is that Ush?
My new nerd room/workshop, the back bedroom that was. Long delay in getting it up to scratch or even usable because it needed a new floor, a shower cubicle taken out, and electric sockets reinstated. As well as having a soon-to-be dedicated hobby room at the back of the house, I've got sci-fi and hobby stuff in my study too.
I'm screwing down the last few new floorboards tonight.
Hey I've got that boiler too, quick start a new thread!
Old 'broiler' Huff
I've a really bad cold at the moment, and have taken the next couple of days off work.
So, I have done the logical thing to do in this situation and dug some of my Star Wars stuff out...
OOOOO can I see a last 17 Anakin hidden amongst your legion.
V
The dog chewed off my Salacious Crumb's foot.
Thats unacceptable- chew its paw off...
Finally got time to photograph some of my Star Wars stuff. Only had time to photograph the original trilogy figures because the little buggers kept playing dominoes whilst I was setting them up.
One day I'll have chance to put them on proper display.
Not a patch on vzzbux's collection, I'm sure.
">
Gruddamnit, am I the only person that doesn't own a Captain Antiles (OT version). Nice conept Luke/Leias there!
Tord I think thats the starkiller concept or the Mara Jade/Luke comic pack unless I cant see the leia one.(which I still dont possess either, actually there is a few there I dont have, curses).
Worldshown where are you getting your wave 5 30th aniversery from?
V
Sorry Tord just looked up starkiller and it is Leia, me bad.
V
Got my wave 5s from Play.com. £5.99 each, saved a couple of pennies by going via Rpoints. All arrived Friday apart from Revan and Malak which arrived Saturday.
Hoping to add a few at Memorabilia this Saturday.
Blast cant go through play without the missus finding out, have to stick to Ebay. or wait and hope TRU or the supermarkets get them in.
V
£5.99 is pretty darn good. I was in FP London on Friday, and sweet cheeses, the prices! They were almost exactly the same as the FP Dublin Euro amounts, but in sterling - and that'd make them about 40% higher than FP Belfast. I'll never complain about the local lads again. And no, I didn't but a single thing from them, bloody chancers.
Incidentally, there was no Wave 5 and the Starkiller concept was £17.99. Take me back to the days of Denmark Street, please.
The Teddy Bears Picnic (Yub Yub, Roooooarrrrrgh).
V
I bet there's a lot of shit in the woods after their picnic.
Hi I don't consider myself as being a collector but after having served some time in the forces in Norway and not I hasten to add in the Royal Marines I got a serious hang up to buy and build this. Most of the stuff I have is books, perhaps I should have posted to this thread and not started another one elsewhere but I'll plead the nyoob to posting here or the fifth/something something
Try putting your photies on Photobucket.com then copy and pasting the URL. I haven't looked back since I was advised.

I've have a Star wars Pilot who I can't see in any of these pics. He's dressed in all black and somewhere under my son's bed, must dig him out and see if you guys can ID him.

Italics off?
Not on here
It's a Firefox (and therefore probably Opera and Safari) thing. One has to close (</i>) every instance one opens (<i>), otherwise the italics last until the browser thinks you meant to close them, which can be either up there, down there or somewhere in the middle.
Sounds like BoShek to me, Proudhuff. Sideburns, and a white vest-and-straps thing over black spacesuit? Bloke that introduces Chewie to Ben in the Cantina. Great figure. If it ain't him, it must be a stinkin' Imperial.
Oh what, I'm having bad day at work, and here's an excuse to show-off about the only thing I know anything about - who wouldn't take the chance?
Could be the black variation of the ep3 clone pilot.

Check out this guys amazing Monsters collection
Some great stuff on here

What a great collection. I particularly like the Sharon Osbourne puppet in the middle.
The Lon Chaney version of Phantom of The Opera is such an iconic monster. I remember being scared of pictures of him as a kid, years before I ever saw the film.
I'm getting this DVD/tat combo for Christmas:

Thanks V, always wondered, do you want one,we've two?

I will take one off your hands definately.
V
V, email me your address and I'll send it, I can't used this sites email thingy as this work/laptop forbids it, and my webfu is weak
Huff
Consider it sent. Thankewww.

One of the very best Vintage figures, that. Odd gun, though.
I'm interested to know if there will there ever be an age when 'you' stop displaying this stuff?
I have nothing compared to you lot, but perhaps due to that it is going to stay on the wall for a long time...but probably not forever!!
'One of the very best Vintage figures, that. Odd gun, though'.
Not the first to say that to me!
ooooer Missus Huff

Youve done it now JS, I have got to get my Action men out now.
Thanx Proudhuff they arrived today. I see they are survivors of a horrific crash. Dont worry they will be cared for.

This is my friend's new office. All this used to be in his bedroom until his girlfriend moved in.
And this is his lounge. He has quite the Boba Fetish.
Fuck, and I thought having a couple of shelves of comics was geeky.
Wow. I am experiencing serious Lego envy, even though I know that this very day (one week to go!) the super-organised missus has placed a wrapped box beneath the Christmas tree, containing the new Lego Hoth set! Glee!
Some Star Wars stuff on sale at Play.com if anyone wants to top up their collection.

Thanx worldshown I have now just compulsively bought 5 starwars figures.

The Boba Fett guy's girlfriend must be weeping into her cocoa. In their house it must be like sitting down to watch TV beside the front counter of Forbidden Planet. All that's missing is the till.
"Let's move in together. It'll be just like living in a shop. I've even got all the shop fittings. We can pick out a spinner-rack together for the spare bedroom."
...
We've been decorating all this week. I'm just about to get started on putting up the shelves. After Christmas I'll show you mine.
Indeed. Sometime over Christmas I'm going to be unearthing various aspects of my 'habit', and I'm going to take some pics. Then you'll see. You'll all see. Oh yes.
Oh, and I should mention that while shopping for my better half today, I accidentally acquired that Hermi Odle I've long been seeking. Sweeeeet.
Ush, it looks to me like that's only a small corner of Boba's lounge, the rest is probably all Chintz and Pre-Raphaelite prints and co-ordinated bloody cushions. No, there's no room in here for that comfy chair you nicked out of the College common room, no matter how much sentimental value it hasstick it in the box room you never go in, along with everything else you own...
*ahem*
Normal service shall resume shortly...
How's about a drink from the Doghouse before a mission.
I saw the pictures on this thread and was compelled to take a photo of my shelf.I'm about to decorate so I'll be packing away all the stuff .I've called it "Shelf Harm".
A really interesting thread but I want to see more!! keep them coming.
Link: http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/gg251/jaylemps/
Looking at some of these photos I can only equate to when I first saw porn back in my early teens.
Those pictures didn't come out.
Mine's coming along well. This kept us quite busy over Christmas...
It took quite some effort getting that cupboard up on the wall, I can tell you.
Of course, the room's now full of geek junk. It's been a real labour of love. I'll reveal all when I've photographed the end result.
I forgot to include this one.
Come on guys make use of the digital cameras you all got for christmas. I want to see photos of shelves loaded with graphic novel and collectables. here's my own small offering. http://s250.photobucket.com/albums/gg251/jaylemps/?action=view¤t=P1000683.jpg

Are plastic bags nessasary?
Unless you're a filthy smoker, then no. But the advantage is they keep the dust off. Jay, your plastic bags are yellowing something alwful, mate. You need to get new ones!
oh, leave him alone Ush, at least he's allowed to display his yellowed bags!
He might have bought yellow bags, lol.
The yellow tint reduces sun-bleaching.
Or, y'know, something.
My latest piece of "Why do i waste my life slaving over a hot monitor?" tat arrived this morning.
Lovely Maile by Chris Sanders
Nice!
Thanks for the tip on the pictures. Yellow bags due to years of smoking "Cough". It's also how I date my books. I have a chart of various shades of yellow and by refering to this chart I can tell what year the book was bought in.
Is there anything nicer than sitting down with a graphic novel, cup of tea and a big fat doobie? If there is let me know.
How about SEX!
I like you a lot CF, but no thanks.
"Is there anything nicer than sitting down with a graphic novel, cup of tea and a big fat doobie? "
"How about SEX!"
I always find it difficult to turn the pages. And she tends to get, you know... a bit cross.
Plus inevitably the cup of tea gets knocked over!
I used to have colour code system relating to me the status of a 2000AD I had seen listed on thsi wber sight.
Basically that is something while I was down south in Sydney. I had kept track of all these
by writing the Prog numbers.
Firstly, I had listed of all the progs/graphic novels I owned that I had naturally left home where I am now. To these I dedicated the colour BLACK. ( As I have been using one of those speical four in one colour pens.)
The ones that I had purchased from a store in Sydney and put in storage were colour coded BLUE.
The ones that I had seen in the store that I was intending to buy were RED.
The ones that I was then buying doubles of were GREEN. ( There weren't many of those.)
Oh, And I had found one or two of Progs had aquired nicotine stains.
I just can't stand sercuity guards who get bored and way too nosey when have access to your stuff.
Is there anything nicer than sitting down with a graphic novel, cup of tea and a big fat doobie? If there is let me know.
Sitting down with a comic, a cup of tea and no doobie and actually being able to remember what happened later?
'I always find it difficult to turn the pages.'
Thats why you have the doggie position. Rest it on her back and away you go.

latest addition
"But this is the Rex Mars Atomic Discombobulator. Don't you just love the graphics on this box?"
:))
I am somewhat late in noticing the particular picture but HOLY SHIT, Usher! I didn't know there'd been that many comics.
Just wait until you see how many Fisher Price Little People there have been, too!
'it looks to me like that's only a small corner of Boba's lounge'
That is one corner of his lounge, the rest is the usual blokes house, big tv and a stupidly huge amount of dvds. However, his girlfriend's pregnant so baby proofing it will be fun.
He did point me in the direction of this video. I'm told that figure is worth £300 ish.

Agreed. Done, and better, by the incredible Evan Dorkin in "Bring Me the Head of Boba Fett".
I don't care. I still had sex with his girlfriend. A lot. And at £300, she was worth it.

No. No. Thats not true! That's impossible!
Actually, I feel a little ill. That guy's toy area is easily bigger than my whole house, and probably worth more. His 12" Stormtrooper collection alone is.... incredible.
On the other hand, those Matrix toys are much cooler than the movies themselves...
Also, can you imagine what that dryer is doing to his packaging? -shudder-
His VHS collection sucks ass though.

It looks like a shop with everything still in its packaging
Just look at the two original Ewoks cartoon characters (not unvaluable items - well over â?¬100 each) - toys from a kids' cartoon, and they've been sitting in their packages since 1985, and no-one has ever played with them. That always strikes me as very sad, in Toy Story II kind of way. Let the envious carping continue!
Yes, it's sort of like scene from ahorror movie about action figures.
Thats just ridiculous
Evrything is I own has been taken out of pakaging.
I may take photo and put it up here one day.
Of course this person could recoup alot of their expences witha huge sale. All the stuff in it's pakaging still in Mint condition.
Jesus Fucking Christ he has all that and not one Dredd/2000ad item that I can see.
What a Twat!
I wonder what his wife/girlfriend thinks of it?
oh right..silly question
"I wonder what his wife/girlfriend thinks of it? "
Did you not see the cabinet with her My Little Pony collection?, sounds like they're a pair (of odd balls).
haha- no, i missed that
Imagine if they have kids- years of explaining why they cant play with the thousands of toys in the "forbidden basement of mystery"
"Of course this person could recoup alot of their expenses witha huge sale."
Maybe one day he'll have to. Not everyone with a huge collection like that can afford it. There was a programme on BBC3 (was it Spendaholics?) where there was a chap who'd spent £25,000 on Japanese Gundam-type mecha and robots. He also had credit card debt to the tune of about... er... £25,000 (give or take a few thousand). What the psychologist got out of him was an unfulfilled longing to visit Japan. He'd never been there because he "couldn't afford it", so he'd collected Japanese toys by mail instead. Then they told him how many trips to Japan he could've had for what he'd spent on toy robots. Oh well.
I dont know what the market for these items is like .I know that if you collect dinky toys etc then they are always worth more with their packaging.
It looks like the Cellar of the house that has been DIYed.Its got that look to it.Horrible wallpaper.

I bet no one has one of these.I found it in a box of bric a brac.
Its a ceramic model of robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet.
Its hand made as there are irregularities in the modelling and it has that metallic oxide type of glaze.
Never seen another and i would guess it dates from the 50s.
Wow, you have a shiny brown knob.
That's a nice find.
Another friend of mine has this nifty little get up but she does keep addding more and more figures to it.
Looks like Barbie's new pad.
Today I struck gold in my parent's attic and found four boxes of LEGO from when I was a nipper.
Bonus I thought.
As cool as that was it was ruined by the finding in one of the boxes the head of the original Han Solo figure, which brought flooding back memories of coming home one day to find that my brother Matt and his friend Matt had pulled the heads off all of my Star Wars figures and swapped them round.
That's his next birthday present sorted then, in a nice presentation box. Bastards.
Oh how I cried.
I was quite upset the day it happened too.
And yet if you'd killed your brother you'd have been the one imprisoned. Madness.
What is it about that Han Solo figure? My own brother stopped short of decapitation, but he chewed that Correllian noggin into an (even more) unrecognisable pulp.
To this day I've a slightly ambivalent feelings about Han, because he never got to participate in many of the heroic struggles and daring rescues that would weaken the Empire at the end of the '70s. Even the awesome Hoth Han (whose non-arctic application was admittedly limited) and then (joy of joys) Bespin Han got pretty minimal outings, because by then the poor guy was in carbonite. In fact, most of his adventures involved brief periods of unfreezing, before being recaptures by Postal Offer Boba and re-frozen in many innovative Lego built carbon-freezing facilities (with working trapdoor!).
++ Postal Offer Boba ++
Hacking names out of backing boards with a blunt pair of scissors- arhhh the memories indeed.
IIRC I got Dengar and the Emperor that way too.
I remember the agonising wait for the survival pack (allowing 28 days for delivery).
And it was well worth it.
I guess this qualifies as a resurrection. But I found an old disposable and had it developed, I hadn't realised I had taken these. I think I have a little of everything from to 2000AD to anime inspired.

I'll start with the 2000ad stuff. Did anyone else buy the movie prop replicas from SD Studios?
I got the helmet, badges and buckle but the bleedin' Lawgiver never arrived. I got a refund for it, but I've never been able to track one down to complete the set. >:(

This photo shows the Dean Ormston original I bought a few years back. I think it was used in one of the Judge Dredd yearbooks but I forget which one. I'm right pleased with it though.
I thought I'd throw this one in too, it's a bit shitty but I think it's a one of a kind Judge Death model that was hand made. And if I'm not mistaken it was made by notorious child murderer Ronald Castree (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7084688.stm), at least that's who I bought it off. he used to own Arcadia Comics in Ashton-under-Lyne. Fucking weirdo! ;D
(http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h71/MrMorningstarr/judge-death.jpg)
I've got some more, if anyone wants to see my lightsaber collection. ;D
Bollocks, I forgot the Reaction Figures. ::)
I bought two of each one so I could open the packets on some. I have the alternate versions of Slaine, Anderson and Judge Death and I got the alternate Anderson one signed by Carlos Ezquerra. Which was nice.
Wow, some cool stuff. That's one hell of a provenance on the Judge Death statue.
But I've got to ask, what film do the chocolate bicuits come from? ;D
Haha, I knew someone would notice them! ;D
They were actually salvaged off a beached ferry.

Great stuff Mr Jolly.
Dare I start re-posting on this thread. Since my last post our (my son now has the Star Wars bug) collection has grown substantially.

are they dildos hanging on the wall?
Looking at Critter's assortment olf plastic paraphenalia. Reminds me of my own collection. If only by replacing your Batman figure as well as few other with Star Wars action figures, Some of the Warcraft figures and Lord of the Rings. Then our collections would look just about identicle. As I have just about all of the 2000AD figures. Reaction and the latest Judge Dredd and Judge Death. Barring all the variants and thefemale female character Reaction figures, except for the Warped Slaine variant. I currently have three Slaine two of them are regular. All my figures are unpackaged. That way, they are less tempting to steal.
I must photgraph my own one day.
I'm also quite impressed and jealous of Mr Jolly's 2000AD home museum of collectables.
Concering you choice of sig picture. You wouldn't be Australian, Tasmanian, Chopper Reid or Eric Bana iumpersonating him.
I wouldn't think so, but I've asked anyway.
I see you play Spore as well, That looksw like the case for the Creature Creator anyway.
Its a bit creepy seeing a Judge Death figure that is the actual product of a deranged, disturbed and psychopathic mind.
Bbbrrrrrrr...........
Creepy.
Your place looks just like a Loft conversion i did for someone recently or what little i could see of it anyway.
I misread the certificate for the JD replicas and read it as saying that they are solid gold and not plated.

About the Scyth or Axe. I am sort of impresseed, but I was just wondering if made from plastic or is that bonafide real.
If thats interesting enough, how about the Axe of Slaine --BRAIN-BITER--.
Then which version?

Just now and on a few other occasions. I have been wondering if the axe Slaine shattered on the head of the old ice dragon towards the end of DRAGONHEIST is considered to be THE BRAINBITER or BRAINBITER THE FIRST and the other with the more familer bat-winged or full moon shaped blade, BRAIN-BITER THE SECOND.
Of course I underastand that every Slaine artist has their own approach to drawing the Sessair and his favorite weapon, it's stil considerd to be the same implement of war and chopping down trees.
The idea of forging a real axe or just a fake plastic one. Thats the thingabout a real forging of the axe. That makes it a real weapon and I guess thats why Slaine prefers the old fashioned weaponry.
It always works, it's always loaded and switched on.
A real one might be safer if it was mounted to something too heavy to allow it to be a viable weapon
I finally got a rollerblind put in my back bedroom where I keep the precious things, a good year and a half since my good lady and I spent Christmas 2007 decorating it, carpeting up and putting up shelves in it (which she spent hours sanding and varnishing all on her lonesome while I was writing up a college assignment).
It's quite a relief to go in there now and not mildly freak at the direct sunlight pouring in through the unshaded window. Pictures to follow by... ooh... end of summer. Possibly. Maybe Christmas?
At lunchtime I bought a Star Wars 3 3/4" figure of Luke in his medical gown from the end of Empire Strikes Back.
And then because he came with 1/6 of a 'build-a-droid' figure (the head, as it happens), I bought five more figures so I could get a seventh one 'free'.
I'm so ashamed, plus I'm going to be living on rehydrated noodles for the next fortnight. It's like George has installed an override chip in the (already under-developed) common-sense area of my brain. Uh actually a lot more than I thought his legs and all sorts how cool was that...
QuoteAnd you're still allowed in the house? I'd expect you to be sleeping in the shed for that one!
It
may be coincidence, but I haven't left the office yet this evening, and have volunteered (by text, minimising the chance of any difficult questions) to take The Boy out early and for the whole day tomorrow so that Pregnant Missus can have a lie-in and a relaxing day. Although without toast, obviously.
QuoteUh actually a lot more than I thought his legs and all sorts how cool was that...
He did indeed. He was actually much better than the TV show itself. A neighbour had one, and I always wanted one, which
may have a bearing on the present situation I find myself in.
"Rebels Cum" ? Hmmm..... let's see.
Oh, Jesus, no! :o
That Skywalker action figure is so... lame! You poor sod. ;)
QuoteThat Skywalker action figure is so... lame!
No, no, it's definitely his hand that was injured.
Rrright, best go home and face the music now.
Did I mention that he's topless under his robe?

At lunchtime I bought a Star Wars 3 3/4" figure of Luke in his medical gown from the end of Empire Strikes Back.
And then because he came with 1/6 of a 'build-a-droid' figure (the head, as it happens), I bought five more figures so I could get a seventh one 'free'.
What? That wave has actually made it to the shops?
Depends if you consider Forbidden Planet a 'shop'. I've always seen it as more like my people's version of a crack den.
Gahhh. I cant believe what I am doing. I have just bought my son the Indy Jones German cargo truck and the Russian jungle cutter. £5.00 (TK MAXX) and £9.99 (TRU) respectively.
V
My wife's due to give birth to our son in November.
So many action figures...
;D

They've got "The Goon" 7 1/2" action figures on eBay and they're quite cheap. If you buy all four you get the parts to build a zombie!
I bet there are toy company market researchers that have this thread set as their home page.

Did they ever bring out the second series of those figures? I always hoped they'd do a Buzzard (who I suspect they were keeping back for just such a second set - why else the rather bizzarre inclusion of Joey the Ball?!)
I don't know about that one Jimbo but then again I can't quite remember Joey the ball either. What book was he in?
No idea, to be honest. I'm up to Book 3 and haven't met him, but then I never managed to get hold of Volume 0.

That saddo's house is awesome. Perhaps when the kids leave home I can bump off the missus, she is worth quite a bit insurance wise.
And Slaine wouldn't think it too many... There I said it.

It is a thing of great beauty to be sure, but where the feck would you put it? I still have to move my (unbelievably great) Millennium Falcon off my desk every time I need to work. (Okay, I mean 'fly' it off my desk, round the room a bit, play a few of the awesome sounds, extend the landing legs, open the gangway, disembark the crew, bluff their way through Imperial customs...etc. etc.). If I had an AT-AT, Han would put her down on top of it...
I have two AT-AT's on my beside draw (one original, one Endor edition), but I would gladly put those aside for this.
V
I suppose if I got two I could run a sheet of heavy ply between them and use that as a desk... To be honest, it's the new Snowspeeder Pilot Luke I'm really feeling the lack of at the moment. Did you see we're getting a new Snowspeeder and a new carded Dack too? I have got to start buying more lottery tickets...

On the last picture I notice the Bolland Dredd on the back of the door. At the top it looks like some signatures are scribbled across it. Am I correct and if I am do you know the names?
You sure are - Brian Bolland, Mike McMahon, Ron Smith and John Wagner signing as John Howard.
Got waaaay back in the early 80's (or was it late 70's?) in the original FP in Denmak Street.
Is that a REI Ayanami I see?
Yup :D
I just noticed on the same shelf you have the submarine from UFO as well as the interceptor and one of the UFO's. I all ways thought the UFO submarine looked like Gerry Anderson had used parts from fireball XL5 and stingray crafts. :D

Inspired by the posts here I've decided that my room needs to be sorted and the process will begin on Monday. Over the last two years my Comic Room has got to the stage where because of the Comics and all my Army stuff you can no longer open the door more than a couple of inches.
Pics and progress report will follow.
in this new home, i have a games room, for want of a more mature word, its what the wife describes as, oh thats my husbands PLAY ROOM!.
WII, Xbox,DVDs,Games, plasma tv, leather sofa and the progs and art on the walls,
plus the 2k toys, i shall, post some pics, the house is WI-FI so the laptop is in there as well
also my teddy bear from my very youth, framed up next to me signed pics of Adam Ant, william shatner and leonard nimoy.

Cool! Nice one, James.
I've undertaken a major reorganisation of the Hideous Boxroom of Doom in recent weeks, due to Baby Max going into his own room and the need to get the last of my stuff out of there.
I'm quite pleased with the results, but even more so with the sorting-stuff-out process, which of course involved lots of stopping to read stuff.
Also, I found myself selling loads of old tat that turned up, including four old mobile phones. I can recommend musicmagpie.co.uk, who are sending me more than £40 for dusty old CDs and DVDs that hadn't been touched in a long time. (You can make a lot more on eBay, but musicmagpie is just so incredibly easy to sort out.)

Holy hell man, that's impressive! I've been relentlessly hoovering up 'unwanted' Lego of grown (and unimaginative) children from all the various branches of my family since I was 5, recently expanding into the untouched worlds of in-laws (under the banner of 'if it's just cluttering up the attic our little boy would get great value out of it'), and I haven't amassed the teensiest fraction of that Aladdin's Cave. As an aside, I have often wondered is there any kids' toy that costs quite as much by weight*.
*other than Gundams, obviously.

It's called Modulex. Made by Lego and came out in the 70s. The intention being it could be used to make architectural models. The company is still going but they make the big signs that you see in airports and train stations now, no idea.
I actually got rid of a lot of lego about 4 years ago (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=285305) that was about 150 kilos worth. Not really built anything since then, and the original photos I linked were taken since then. So I still have way too much. I'm packing up the house at the moment due to having to move out and got scared with quite how much I have. I'd forgotten :)
So the last thing you want to see are the new collectable minifigures that Lego have started producing?
I'm attempting to ignore them for as long as poss. The new Star Wars Minifigs are the shizzle apparently. My not updated for 5 years site is @ http://www.minifig.co.uk/ Not much dust on there tho so probably Off Topic :) I realised I needed to stop after building this http://www.minifig.co.uk/default.asp?id=3&mID=37

A kid I used to know decided he didn't want them any more and brought them round. (There was a few other Star Wars things too including an X-Wing.) I was so chuffed at the time.
Later on I think they ended up in a jumble sale. A daft thing is, as an adult I wish I'd kept them. (Isn't that strange? I went through a phase of thinking I was too old for these things, yet now I know I'm too old part of me wouldn't mind having them.)
I used to love transformers too and they ended up in a jumble sale too. I actually did succumb to temptation a year or two back and bought a couple of transformers. I felt guilty afterwards and sold them on ebay. At a loss.... (one was actually quite rare, an import....)
As for merchandise, I've limited myself to Red Dwarf stuff so far. I've got all the Red Dwarf head knockers (apart from the two, Rimmer in gingham dress and Psiren which weren't put on the market) and a couple of corgi models. (Starbug and a Skutter.) If I find my digital camera I might take a picture.
If any cheaper 2000 AD figures come out I might get them. 3A is out of my range, and I think I'd prefer something smaller anyway. (I like the idea of the big Mongrol though.) Smeg, old ladies have models of ugly people fishing. I'm a geek. I prefer action figures. As models. I don't play with them. (
Not where anyone can see anyway.
)

From my memory of transformers, surely the red car should be Hot Rod? Didn't the Rodimus Prime version* have a camper van thing which turned into a gun platform? (I remember rather wanting one of those at the time... although in hindsight, what a daft name.)
*I know it's the same person after having accepted the matrix of leadership. According to the first animated movie anyway. Which I never actually watched, but I had the book and tape.
I can answer that one, Mardroid.
It's to do with licensing issues concerning the name 'Hot Rod'. Hasbro can't trademark it (or whatever) so they go with 'Rodimus' instead. 'Hot Rod' is considered too generic a term, apparently.
This is why a lot of recent toys have been marketed as, for example 'Autobot Jazz' or 'Decepticon Brawl'. Adding the prefix apparently differentiates between a trademark and a generic term.
Silly world we live in. ::)
Ah. Thanks for the reply.
What you mean to say is: 'Autobot Ah, Decepticon thanks for the Autobot reply.'
Just covering the legal stuff here. ;)

Look up Season 3 Episode 11 of 'Pawn Stars' if you like your Transformers mental cases. The guy has everything including multiples and all the boxes. The Pawn man isn't impressed as he'd have to break it up and sell them individually over the internet. The Toy store owner he takes along to appraise is however frothing at the mouth at the sight of so much plastic.

Thank you for introducing that hopeless longing into my life, Johnny.
There's some wonderful stuff there - the book cover sets in particular tickle my fancy. Having spent many long boring days in National School gazing at some of those covers on the shelves at the side of the classroom it's vaguely surreal to see them as figurines/statuettes/whaddayacallems.
I'm so glad I never fell under the spell of Tintin.

I've been clean for 3 months now. My last purchase was the Vintage Collection R2 with the drinks tray, a very fine last hit. Luckily I can get methadone-equivalent relief from my son's Clone Wars games, and occasional treats acquired for free (thanks Mogzilla! :D), but as for purchasing... that wookiee's off my back, man.
Here, Cyberleader2000, I played with a Transformer for the first time since my brother's Starscream some time in the '80s (which i used as a rather nice jet fighter, not a space robot), and I was quite impressed.
One of my son's friends had given him a 'Tuner Skids' for his birthday (presumably in the remaindered aisle), and we spent some time transforming him back and forth between what looked like a green Mondeo to a squat looking robo-bloke with a car boot stuck to his neck. But I must say, the actual transforming process was pretty cool - way more complicated and clever than I had imagined. Interesting hobby you have there.
This was my last individual purchase because I my son didn't have that particular clone variant.

F'ing pusher - Lucas got you working the 'net, huh? Can't fool me, I know the first hit's always Free(co).
Most interesting change of all has been the shift from user to dealer, i.e. (the necessity of) selling my plastic mountain - came back from a lovely beach swim today to find eBay had shifted €24.00 of gear in my absence. Paid for the petrol and the ice creams, which was nice. I'm only selling doubles at the moment, but I think I'm almost ready for the big leagues.

yes the movie line is much more complex but I think the best line is the clasicks / universes / Generachions line also skids is rubish want a good movie tf get voiger starscream that figer is arsom. but if you want complex try a masterpice range. took me about half a day to transform Masterpice megatron for the first time now it only takes me now 45 minits and thats with pratis.

There you go something else to spend your benefits on
"Mr Fenton's girlfriend, who did not want to be named" there's a surprise!
£200k for a 1000 model collection - £200 each? sounds like an insurance job in the offing.
Still if I met a woman who knew what I liked and the insisted I got rid of it, I know what would be out the door.
I have insured my Star Wars collection at £10,000.
I may have to re-value this on renewal.

Aye, but according to the article he was spending $4K a year on just one website alone - so you can assume that over the 20 years of collecting he/his parents probably spent close to the (adjusted) estimated value (not that he's even made the sale for that daft amount yet). So the money has already been spent, and obviously there was a
lot of it coming from soemwhere, it just happens to be (theoretically) recoverable. Lets see someone try to sell 20 years worth of pints and fags, or shoes and make-up (admittedly that's about €200 a week's worth, but plenty of people spend that). Frankly I think the woman is a bitch - who pays off their mortgage at 32? Cut back on that kind of spending and the mortgage will look after itself.

QuoteDark of the Moon is expected to significantly add to the 700miliion dollar box-office takings. Mr Fenton, who was at a preview screening of the movie, is already booked in for another viewing of the film this weekend.
He said: 'The team have finally listened to the fans and delivered what they want, an adult version of the original cartoon, with action, adventure and a story line.
'I can only hope that a fourth instalment will not be too far away.'

Its the Special OPs Trooper next to Waxer.
Both came in separate 2 packs, Genosian and battle droid respectively. Sansbury's exclusives.

Thought I would join in on the clone thing.....specifically animated.
With the exception of the odd variant - pretty much a complete set up to the Colt/Riot Clone wave (and an extra Commander Jet for good measure).
Couldn't get them all in shot on stands!
.....might get rid of them via ebay at some point as have reverted to my OT love.
Not only do you have a wonderful art talent but that is a nice collection which is even giving me envy.
V
Beautiful line-up, Simon. But are Senate Commandos actually clones? Raises-eyebrow-and-goes-Hmmmm?*
*It's called begrudgery, and it's my culture, man.
Nah - I just put them in there because vzzbux did!! :D
There are also a couple of customs in there - the Bly on the third row is actually a converted Rex (before I managed to get my hands on the real thing) and as any good collecting geek should know, the 'Bomb Disposal Clone' (orange figure top left) hasn't been made (yet) - that's a custom 'Slick'.
.....I am on the slow road to recovery from clone illness......but unfortunately it has now been replaced by the current "Vintage" line and a catch up on VOTC / Saga.
It won't be long until I start plugging the gaps in my original vintage set.....dear lord.
Nice customs, missed those! It's hard to believe there's no Hasbro Clone Ordnance Specialist, when there are Lego Minifigs and Galactic Heroes versions already...
I'm well into several months of cold turkey on the whole thing, financially mandated - I actually put a Vintage Collection Endor Trooper back on the peg the other date. It was hell.
The Vintage collection kind of killd collecting for me. At £8.99 a piece I don't think so.
V

Cheers guys, the Cap B/Fury piece was made for me by a fella I met in a facebook collectors group. I sent him pics of Crooked World and specifically the cover of The Daredevils #11 and asked him to see what he could do.
He also made me the custom Fury on the Bowen Cap B statue. Another guy made Mad Jim Jaspers, also on there.

Its nice to be in the company of comic fans even tho I've not read one in over 20 years.
I've been staying off the forum since getting a warning today that the sites security cert has expired and I may be exposed to nasty goings on ! Posted about it in a diff thread and others have had the same. Its a first for me in 20 years online. Hope its nothing to worry about, I like it in here ;)

Cheers muchly, TooN.
Welcome to the board BTW.

My 38 year quest for a complete standard loose set* of vintage Star Wars figures draws perilously close to an end. Just a last 17 Ewok left to acquire (warok).
Man, those "last 17" figures have really shot up in price in the last couple of years.....I passed on a few of them a few years back as they were way too expensive. Wish I hadn't now as they were relatively cheap compared to what they cost now! Have recently got rid of all my modern 3.75 inch figures to fund these and my growing 1/6 (bad) habit.

* not including the two expensive variants : vinyl cape jawa and blue snaggletooth!
Very nice indeed
Yep, some of the figures are super silly in terms of prices. As you say, those last 17 especially.
Once you have the set, will you turning your attention to the vinyl cape Jawa, and Blue Snaggletooth?
(And don't forget the Dianoga...)
Yeah, the dianoga, a better dewback and an imperial probe droid. Can't bring myself to stump up £200 on a blue snaggletooth when I can pick up a hot toy for the same money. Never say never though.
......oh yeah, and my other bad Star Wars habit.......6 inch black series figure. Trying to break this particular habit. Would like to sell them all but can't actually bring myself to do it!
(http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l150/Simonipenter/IMG_1144.jpg) (http://s95.photobucket.com/user/Simonipenter/media/IMG_1144.jpg.html)
Have actually got another 10 of these since I took this photo, including all the rogue one figures. Sigh, it's an illness.
Those Black series figures are aces.
Only got the one; Sandtrooper. Had to have me a Sandtrooper. Tempted to get the regular Stormtrooper as well.
As for the original vintage line I have a few. Those relating to ANH only really. No vinyl, Blue's, or Dianoga's though..
Ha ha, sandtrooper is absolutely my favourite as well! First hot toys figure I picked up (only have a few) was the sandtrooper, I love it.
Some other dust gatherers....... 1/6 figures.

With the mandalorian shelf, I recognise Boba Fett in the middle and Jango Fett on the left. I thought the one on the right might be a clone trooper, but on closer inspection maybe not.
That's the original boba fett suit design (usually referred to as "prototype fett") that was made in around 1978 (i think). He was originally conceived as a sort of "super stormtrooper", hence the white suit. Later on he was re-fashioned as a bounty hunter and the familiar colours were added. There is footage and photos from the live test of this white suit though if you google it.

The white version has been re-repurposed in
Rebels as the uniform of the Imperial Supercomando, as per the original concept.
Interesting...
Rebels. Another show I need to catch up on. (I've just seen series 1 so far.)

Nice collection. Mid life crisis has hit here so I've started to collect the original figure again in a vain attempt to recapture my 10 year old self. Have Chewbacca and Obi Wan so far...It's going well.
If anyone wants to sell any doubles of the original figures (77-85) then please let me know. Thanks!
It's fair to say that I filled most of the gaps in this collection about 5 years ago......which was just prior to me turning 40, so midlife crisis probably is appropriate. I do have a terrible collecting illness though! Probably about a third of these figures are my actual childhood ones.
I initially thought you had a shelf for each film but I see you have had to add a few interlopers on to the Episode IV shelf.
Yeah , there are a lot more jedi figures......and less new hope. The biggest crime though is the massive over representation of ewok!
Should we re-start this thread and update everyone's photos?
SIP made me aware of this thread, hopefully its still alive.
Been collecting toys and Prog's for a third of a Century. :o
So I will be posting pic's of my collections.
Stay tuned.
I'll start with a non-2000AD kit-bash of mine.
Around 2001 my idea of custom, was to put some extra kit on a figure. ::)
Check my custom 3A/2000AD fig's in the 3A thread to see I have progressed (only slightly :P).
My kit-bash of members of the 101st P.I.R. on D-Day (WW2).
Google "Filthy 13 + D-Day"" for more info if you are interested.
21st Century Toys Jeep and 2 figures.
Also 2 Dragon Models Ltd figures (a lot superior to 21st).
I really appreciate the earlier release stuff.
To see how Hot Toys, Sideshow etc got their influences and how much progress has been made with man dollies.
Sorry "Collectible Action Figures"
I'll stay with one pic of each set to keep my posts short, but will post more if there's interest.
Just ask.
Sad to see that all of the photobucket nonsense means that a lot of the pictures on the thread have disappeared.
Usually save my pic's on my PC before using an image host.
So sad and frustrating the photobucket drokkers have screwed the world over. >:(
Sticking with the D-Day theme.
Of course, the British were not going get out done in the crazy-brave stakes.
My kit-bash of a 6th Airborne Division Trooper, D-Day 1944.

Apparently, they ditched the Jump Helmet quickly after landing.
With Nat-zee's trying to kill you everywhere, they chose to wear their bright Maroon Beret !.
Shortly after D-Day (due to many head-wounds) the order was "no beret's in combat".
Originally maroon beret's, the S.A.S. changed to the now famous Tan (their L.R.D.G. roots, in the desert).
Replica Ginger Flock, GI Joe (Cotswold Collectible's), with (2001) 21st Century Toys uniform and kit.
All molded pieces, but a really good representation of the Military kit of the time.
That Action Man is fantastic.
Cheers JimboC, glad you like him. :)
I figured a crazy Para running around France, must be a Ginger ;).
Every collection has to have the "bad guys", to battle your "heroes" right ?.
I'll stay with D-Day, but move over to the Dark Side, cue Vader's March music.
German NCO, Normandy 1944.

I had only seen B&W, historical pic's of WW2 German Camouflage.
When I saw this uniform set (semi-accurate) it blew me away.
The "blocky" pattern with artificial "rain" was so cool.

You could combine 4 Zeltbahns together, to make a 4-man tent !.
Armed with a "Panzerfaust", English translation = Tank-Fist (for punching holes in Tanks obviously !).

London Under London - a great book!
Through the power of thread necromancy I convey this message.
I've caught the Transformers figures bug. I picked up a few from In Demand Toys at MCM Bham a few weeks back for a bargain and found the engineering to be much improved from the chunky spring loaded blocks of the early 2000's. Cindersaur, Triggerhappy and Hun-Gurrr are great figures and it's convinced me to dip my toe a bit more into the recent lines.
This wont become a problem, i'm sure....
Heh. After buying transformers as a kid, (then reluctantly giving them away, cos I was 'too old') I bought a couple of the Masterpiece figures* recently. Paid way to much for a Hasbro Optimus MP-10. (MP-44, is the latest, but that one is ridiculously expensive and I wasn't keen on the paint job.) Thankfully I paid much less for a second hand Tamara MP Sideswipe (sorry 'Lambor'), although probably too much for second hand.
Pretty nice looking figures with decent engineering. Worth it? Not really, I can see some design issues. (Sideswipe seems to want to come apart in robot mode. Unless I transformed it wrong,) and Optimus has minor issues. For the money I think they should be much better...
... yet I'm glad to have them. Prime in particular is a monster size compared to the G1 toy I had as a child, although I ironically prefer the metallic paint job of the older figure. I love the fact he has a back now, though, rather than having a huge gaping hole into the cab, like the original. The articulation on these MPs is pretty decent compared to the originals too, although that's not saying much.
I won't be collecting them all. Probably just one or two (or three or four. Yes I know. I'm so sad.) more, if that. Eyeing am MP-36 Megatron next, (or a movie Bumblebee. He's one movie range figure that looks really good, although I'm largely sticking G1 otherwise) but if I do, it would need to be a good deal, Great looking figure from the front, but the kibble on the back is atrocious!
Oh, and the sheer amount of Knock -offs on eBay is shocking! It's hard to tell which is original sometimes. Tempting too, as they're often nice quality at half the price, but I want to keep them original. I see boxless Takara Megs on eBay that are supposedly original, at a much reduced price, but how do I know these sellers aren't fibbing?
* kind of fooled myself into thinking 'the MP range are adult collector figures at that price, so okay to buy. Yes, I'm a fool, but they are quite nice. Thankfully, they don't seem to lose value all that much as production is limited, so I might even make money back if I ever decided to sell. (Not that I'm considering that yet.) Assuming I don't damage them.
Bringing it back to 2000AD, I see a face off between an axe wielding Optimus Prime and Mongrol in the future. (In a posed figures display kind of way, I mean, not a playing "take that!" "Mongrol Smush!" Click! Click! Kind of way. Honest. Their size is comparable, although they're not to scale. If they were, I think Mongrol would be far smaller. We think of ABC Warriors as giant robots, but they seem quite small compared to Transformers. Even Mongrol. I think only Mek-Quake in kill-dozer mode would compare.
I doubt i'll bother with the Masterpiece line, too big, too expensive, too much like a collectors piece than just some fun to liven up the work space in my flat. The Generations line are more in my ball park, cheaper but still impressive little toys for what they are and appealing to a certain bit of nostalgic jpy. God knows the world meeds that right now.

You'd have to compare the Transformers to the Terra-Meks, Charlie and George, wouldn't you? (I was never into Transformers, so don't know how they fare in the big robots stakes - other than Optimus Prime who I know is the size of an artic).
The smallest fully grown Cybertronians, like Nickel (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Nickel) are about 3-4ft tall, so about the size of Ro-Jaws. The largest are the colossal city sized Titans (https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Titan_(group)), like Metroplex and Trypticon, which are far far larger than anything in the Millsverse. Optimus sit's somewhere between the 30-50ft tall mark, so towers over most ABC warriors. Even the smaller than average Autobots/Decepticons like Tailgate or Rumble would still be about the size of Hammerstein.

Fair enough. I was slightly shocked at the size of Optimus when he arrived. I did read the descriptions before buying, but it doesn't quite do it justice. And the mp36 is smaller than the first MP version!
I found myself hankering for the G1 size, (or something in between) but with the quality of MP, if that makes sense. At least the size made me feel like I was getting more of my money's worth. Heh.
Sideswipe is to scale with Optimus, and as a far smaller character is actually a pretty nice size. So I guess your average sized mp isn't so big, but in scale certain characters just dwarf the others.
And I believe the MP Shockwaves are on the bigger side of things. Old Mongrol would be about two thirds his height at least I'd think, if not half. (Difficult to tell with Mongrol, as he is one of the larger Warriors, but he stoops a lot. Also his scale does seem to change a bit from comic, to comic.)
I looked at the Generations line. Yes they look very nice.

I've caught the Transformers figures bug.
Haven't got the bug, but do have two Transformers on my display shelf:
- Soundwave (w/ Lazerbeak & Ravage) 'G1 Re-issue'. Personal favorite from my childhood, the original was lost forever when some scrote broke into my Dad's car in the late 80's (thinking it was an actual tape player).
- Galvatron (w/ Nucleon) 'Titans Return'. Looks much closer to the animated version than the G1 version I had as a kid. Gotta love that huge arm cannon.
I was very tempted to buy the Soundwave Masterpiece when it hit the UK, but (intentionally) delayed until it was sold out. My wallet was happy about that. But then I've tons of Zoids here that I've never put together or that have gathered dust, and so didn't really need more stompy robots. I do keep checking local second-hand listings, mind...
I've got a fairly large collection of G1 transformers and can absolutely recommend the masterpiece figures. The MP10 optimus is pretty much a perfect rendition of a G1 meets Transformers:the movie optimus prime. Must pick up the equivalent Megatron at some point.
The soundwave is a great figure, but yes....quite expensive now.
We need pics! It's not just what you've got but how it's displayed and traps the dust

I use a soft paintbrush. Apparently Some make-up brushes are good as well.
We collect the modulars. I've subsequently added quite a few vehicles and minifigs. The display is about 80% dust, although it's at least not as bad as when it was mostly Zoids. Those buggers are impossible to clean.

I do wonder this about some of the modern Lego - if it's too fragile to be easily moved then it isn't a toy any more - and Lego should be a toy first and foremost!
I dunno. Although it might sound a bit Lord Business, I'd say Lego has multiple purposes these days. Primarily, it's a toy line, but it's also a nostalgia-infused kit line – the modern-day equivalent of Airfix. Let's face it – there aren't too many kids who are going to play with the Architecture line, or the Vestas Wind Turbine set. Even that gigantic Hogwarts Castle set is very much a display piece, rather than something to sit there playing with.
Very true! I wonder could there also be a reflection of childhood use patterns? My son used to build his Lego sets and play with them as if they were 'regular' toys, seldom if ever breaking them up (except temporarily in crashes etc). There's still a few of his SW vehicles dotted around the place. By contrast my daughter (9) barely finishes any new set before she's pulled it apart and merged it into her latest Lumberjanes-inspired project, an ever-evolving spread of carefully outfitted log cabins and tree-houses that never stay the same for longer than a day.

Not going to lie, this made me grin from ear to ear. You're bringing your sprog up on some choice comics, Tordels my good man.
Mini-IP (4) is like that with her sets, which have been smashed to bits and recombined into all manner of oddball contraptions. Most of a London bus still exists, as does a dinosaur, and parts of a house. But mostly, it's BUILD ALL OF THE THINGS. Hence why she's not getting free rein with my modulars. Getting those back together again would be a bloody nightmare. (She does get all the vehicles now and again, though, from the Mystery Machine to Ecto-1.)
This is starting to sound like the script to the Lego movie....;)
Hey, I did already mention Lord Business – and I do feel a bit shitty saying "no, you can't play with all of daddy's Lego". But then she's 4, she has a massive box of her own Lego. Also, I bought a ton of 1980s Lego on eBay for nostalgic purposes, but almost all of that's gone to the nipper (and been lost in her box o' Lego bits).

It's entirely true that there's Lego and there's lego. That big millennium falcon is most certainly not for kids, its non-functional as a toy, but, then there is the smaller version that is a great solid toy. They have certainly broadened the range to appeal to a wider audience.

One of my favourite vehicles from Star Wars is the Sandcrawler (not an obvious choice, I know) and I've looked at previous Lego Sandcrawlers. This Christmas I bought myself the latest version - it's about half the size of previous ones they've done but think it's probably the best one released to date (though if only it had proper see-through windows).

Chimp skull and Tibetan carved skull (replica of the only fully carved Tibetan skull to have been discovered).

Ahem. While your collectible items are fabulous, I must remind thread users about the purpose of this thread: shelf porn. Wider shots of shelves, please!

Yeah I remember him teasing us with this years ago. I need closure or my trust in our fishy (once) overlord will be be tarnished. I think he's just thrown up a couple of BnQ (or whatever they have in Canada) black tube plastic shelves and thrown everything in boxes on those.
Prove its not so, come on I'm calling you out.
Its a shelf* porn off...
*[Normalfontsize] This originally said 'self porn' but that was too weird so I edited it so no one will ever know [\normalfontsize]
There are no shelves in the Troutcave. He stuffs his priceless collectibles into old lobster pots in his seaweed-choked watery lair. Rusty staples, foxed edges, folded covers, these are pleasing words to him.
Prove me wrong, yer maj.
Actually he's in Canada - he probably just splits open the belly of a moose (or is it caribou there?) and stuffs them in there.
"And I thought my shelving system was disorganised... on the outside".
Theres a hoose, loose, aboot thise moose.
Trout has apparently gone to the bother of creating a high-end CGI video purporting to show his lovely supposed shelves, in order to pull the wool over the eyes of the Twitterati. But it's all lies, there are no shelves and there never will be.
You can fool some of the Twatterati some of the time...
Still waiting... ;)

This seems like the spot for Squaxx's collections of 2000AD metal miniatures.
My old digi camera died about 14 months ago and I've discovered the poxy 5M camera phone isn't really up to the task of in detail close ups but it's make do with what I have.
Warlord Games Dark Judges and spirit forms, all my own work :-)
I like to do a 2000AD 4-colour palette like the Prog covers and centre spreads of old.
Not really into multiple layers of dry brushing or spending more time making the base look like a diorama than actual figure painting time.

... and I also found this Heavy Metal piece stowed away in the '2000AD metal' collection.

Not 100% certain but think it may have been the 2003 or 2004 subs gift.
mmm Zarjaz!
Great stuff LincnashOZ. Never seen those spirits forms before.
For the the Strontium Dog & "new" Dredd minis I went for a monochrome pallet but with every mini having one small area a splash of colour. Won't be to everyone's taste but I like it. Decided to go down this route as most of the stories I read back in the day were monochrome. The splash of colour was just a fuck it moment on one completed mini and i liked it so much I added it to the rest. Almost like a signature.

That's the best thing with these miniatures.
You can go with colour accuracy in homage to the Prog and Thargs art droids, B&W like the toilet paper of old or any paint application you desire that makes you happy.
Here's the Warlord Games box front and back, showing of the figures and spirit forms.
The box has release date of 2013, didn't realise they are a decade old!
The suggested paint application looks very monochrome in my eyes (and the pics are better than my phones close up 28mm miniature shots).

I used to have Pa, Junior, and Mean Angel in 25mm from Citadel and, if I say so myself, I did a hell of a paint job on them. You'll have to take my word for it though, seeing as they're long gone 🙁

Here's a few of my Stront minis. These are all Metal and I prefer these to the Dredd from Warlord games but i understand that costs may have driven the change.
I've not yet started the Dredd minis (apart from the Xmas decy's) but I'm queued up with my larger projects I don't know when I'll get them started.
I've only posted a few of my favourite ones and i believe the monochrome effect brings out the detail in the figures pretty well.

I love the little flashes of colour.
Thanks guys - sometimes the colour flashes aren't bright or contrasting enough so might have to rethink some shades for the Dredd minis when I get round to them.
Oh! my poor heartses.
They look really good and the contrasting Red S/D badge is a nice touch.
I especially like that you have based them on Gingernut biscuits, good use of pastries there.

My Angels are not minty vintage '83 but later Warlord's from 2013 :-(
Incomplete and in need of more paint application and finish the bases off (McFad's great suggestion lower in post).
Will be a major pain to get the red/yellow stripes on Pa's shirt, but I'll do my best.
I like how Warlord went with Mean having both arms, just how we met him.
Before Dredd did surgery with a Lawgiver GP round.
IIRC "Dang Lawjockey shot my arm off. Lucky it wasn't my good one".

...just sand from a local beach...
Excellent suggestion.
I had been trying various 'sand colour' paints to find a Cursed Earth look on the Angel's.
May pop down the beach over Xmas and bring home a pocket full (usually a bum crack full and I'll never know how it get behind the ears).
;-)
Those look dam good LincnashOZ I have my fingers crossed that Warlord release the Angel family- but will they do a 2 arm Mean or a 1 arm.
If you've never added sand to bases before my process is to use a PVA glue slightly watered down. Carefully coat the base(and not my lovely painted figures) and dip into the tub of sand and knock off the excess. Depends how watered down you've made the glue you may not pick up the desired coverage just let it dry and repeat.
I have an image of your sand down under is lovely and golden 😁 mine is from a beach in the Firth of Forth 🙁. I'm so jealous as I want golden sand- may have to travel up the west coast to source some better sand but not this time of year.
Thanks McFad, they're far from finished but wanted to get some pics up.
Will follow up later when I'm happy with the paint app and completed the bases.
With many projects on, who knows when that will be.
Googled Firth of Forth to get an idea of your locality, looks to be a beautiful part of the World.
Then got amused because you are writing from the North Sea area, while I'm writing from the Southern Ocean coast.

Shaking hands and failing eyes is right. A few years back I put together a few 1:72 tanks for old times' sake. I chose tanks because camouflage patterns are all I can convincingly manage now. (Also, muddy-looking dry brushing conceals a multitude of sins.)

My Dark Judges and Angel Gang are from Warlord Games in the JUDGE DREDD - MINIATURES GAME series (predate the re-release and modern Dredd/Stronty/Slaine figures.
I believe they only put out a Rogue/Nort/Souther 3 pack with the J.D. game series (I have them but only undercoated and glued to base, not worth showing pics.
Did ANYONE get the Rogue Trooper Kickstarter that Mongoose did?
Totally passed me by and I recall it was a bit of a gruelling experience for backers (or was that the one for the Manta Prowl Tank and other Justice Dept Vehicles?)
I need to get the second GW Rogue Trooper set if it ever shows up, which is a Nort, Venus and the Traitor General IIRC?
Undercoated most of my GW minis and painted only about a third I'd guess, but also a lot I dont have as well.
I only have a few of the first generation Warlord/Mongoose Dredd sets, but would love to get the rest - my biggest gap - still kick myself that I saw about 5 of the boxes at a games fair, but didnt want to pony up 150 quids in one go!
Have all the Wargames Foundry, which I must get round to undercoating

Hmmmmmm....
I need to buy less stuff... but here's a quick tour of my comic book room. I'm constantly sorting and refiling things, and I have a plan to make it far more organized this winter. Some of these boxes are empty, ready for a reorg. Click on the pics to embiggenate.
It's based on a loose system of: publisher > alphabetical by title > sequential by issue number. But there's a lot of piling things up for later. I'll get to it.
(https://i.postimg.cc/t1RQycrS/Comic-book-room-one.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/t1RQycrS)
Starting with the British comics corner, mostly 2000 AD. That original art is going on my bedroom wall, after I finally find time to paint it.
(https://i.postimg.cc/JGJWQZDq/Comic-book-room-two.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/JGJWQZDq)
Moving widdershins, we see the shelves for general graphic novels and start to see the DC boxes, which is the bulk of the collection.
(https://i.postimg.cc/S2vpgGfZ/Comic-book-room-three.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/S2vpgGfZ)
Those DC boxes, with graphic novels vaguely alphabetical along the shelves. The boxes on the left belong to my kids and include some very well-loved books.
(https://i.postimg.cc/8jFCg7FJ/Comic-book-room-four.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/8jFCg7FJ)
And the Marvel corner. I should get more boxes for these guys. I'm not that into Marvel.
So that's a quick tour. The wall you don't see is a fitted wardrobe full of the empty boxes for collectables on display in the main house. I have more bookshelves upstairs too, of course, including some specially-designed shelves (in lovely local walnut) that bear most of the contemporary, non-superhero stuff - it's mainly Canadian "literary" graphic novels, as the bookstore calls them. For the last several years I've written a regular GN reviews column for the Toronto Star, so I get a lot of books in the mail.
And there is also the office... Perhaps I'll share that bookshelf here one day. :)
Cheers

Wow that's some cool art. A John Stokes Black Knight (with Captain Britain) is very VERY cool.
And like me you seem to have a PJ from Happy Valley if my eyes aren't deserving me and it looks like a good un too!
Lovely stuff and some of the sketches look super cool too. Is that Paul Grist piece a comics page or a con sketch. I seem to recall he draws at a crazy small size?
Some amount of art on your walls there Marbles- great stuff 👍🏻
Yes I got the John Stokes Captain Britain 10-15 years ago from eBay, couldn't believe my luck, especially as it has Jackdaw & Black Knight too (I also have two CB Bowen busts, the original & the Alan Davis version).
The PJ Holden Happy Valley page I bought direct from him on Twitter, very happy with it. The Paul Grist is a page from Jack Staff. Probably the thing I'm most happy with is the Mike Western Joe Darkie though.
My biggest regret is passing on a really lovely David Lloyd V For Vendetta sketch (this is well before it all blew up with the film etc). This was at the Bedford Hotel in London many years ago. It was offered for £30, I only had £20 in cash on me :(. Oh for a TARDIS.

Thanks! I am quite married to that system, although it mainly works because I have some well-used miscellaneous sections that let me avoid tough decisions.
And that Metamorpho book was a surprise hit after I acquired it in a bundle I bought off somebody on FB Marketplace. I plan to hunt down the other issues - it was a mini-series.
